The best Highscreen smartphones. The best Highscreen smartphones The decision of the judges of the fight

Today it is not necessary to buy the most expensive and powerful smartphone in order to enjoy the stable operation of all games and applications. If you're not ready to spend 50 thousand rubles on a new Galaxy, that's okay. 17 thousand rubles is enough to buy a faithful and reliable comrade. For some reason, it is generally accepted that the most profitable investment is a smartphone from a Chinese company. Every month an impressive new product comes out from China, and behind the endless wave of information about it, we forget about smartphones from other companies. But they deserve attention.

Let's have a comparison, a real battle. There is a company in Russia that can compete with well-known Chinese brands. Highscreen is steadily updating its line of smartphones, and every year they become better, more interesting, but remain affordable. I was lucky enough to use one of the company's most interesting smartphones for several weeks, and I will share my impressions.

But since we are in a battle and everything good and bad is learned by comparison, we will put a smartphone from China as a counterbalance. We will call Xiaomi the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, since their smartphones are among the brightest, most desirable and affordable. I used their Mi 4i for a long time, which means there will definitely be a comparison. Alas, I parted with my Xiaomi smartphone for a reason. Fortunately, the format of the material will allow me to talk about its disadvantages.

Let's start from the end. I don’t know why, but price is usually the last thing people talk about. At the same time, for fans of Xiaomi smartphones, price is the determining factor. Fortunately, almost every new product can be purchased by paying no more than 20 thousand rubles. Of course, Xiaomi has devices like Mi 5. You have to pay extra for their hardware. But in general, with 15-20 thousand rubles, you can afford any new middle-class product. By ordering it from China, you will pay less.

In the Highscreen online store you will not be able to find a smartphone more expensive than 20 thousand. With similar characteristics, Xiaomi and Highscreen smartphones will cost approximately the same, and I happened to use smartphones with very similar hardware. It is worth noting that when buying smartphones from the Russian company Highscreen, you receive fast delivery, service and support. When ordering a smartphone from China, you have to rely only on yourself. I am sure that if Boost 3 could be ordered on GearBest, it would cost much less. Today in Russia this smartphone costs 16,990 rubles. Xiaomi Mi 4i can be purchased for 15,990 rubles.

Iron

We can talk about iron for a very long time. I’ll say right away that I’m not a fan of hertz and cores, I’m not a fan of diodes, and I don’t idolize gigabytes of RAM. The hardware in my smartphone should ensure stable operation of applications, it should not cause problems and inconveniences. My Mi 4i ran on an octa-core Snapdragon 615 with 2 gigabytes of RAM. It was enough for stable operation of any games and applications. Highscreen Boost 3 is powered by an eight-core MediaTek MT6753. I don't see any problems with him either. Both processors cope with all tasks perfectly.

The processor from Qualcomm has a number of advantages over MediaTek processors, but we won’t talk about them right away. For now, I suggest taking a look at the brief characteristics of my two smartphones and understanding how similar they are.

Xiaomi Mi 4i

  • Number of SIM cards: 2
  • Screen: 5 inches, 1920 x 1080
  • Camera: 13 megapixels
  • CPU: Octa-core Snapdragon 615
  • Memory: 16 gigabytes
  • RAM: 2 gigabytes
  • Battery capacity: 3120 mAh

Highscreen Boost 3

  • Number of SIM cards: 2
  • Screen: 5 inches, 1920 x 1080
  • Camera: 13 megapixels
  • CPU: Octa-core MediaTek MT6753
  • Memory: 16 gigabytes
  • RAM: 2 gigabytes
  • Battery capacity: 3000 mAh + 6000 mAh

Now let's go in order. Both smartphones support dual SIM and LTE. This is exactly what I need, no questions, no complaints.

Both smartphones delight the eye with an IPS FullHD display. The quality of the display is pleasing to the eye, but, in my subjective opinion, Xiaomi’s color rendering is poor. I liked the Boost 3 display a little better.

Time to talk about the camera. I didn't like either camera or the other. Luckily, unlike Xiaomi, Highscreen didn't try to convince me that I would get good pictures. The Boost 3's camera is good enough for capturing specific moments or photographing documents, but it's not particularly impressive. The camera of Xiaomi smartphones impresses only the company's employees during the presentation. She gets a lot of attention, but in reality the result is worse than average. Perhaps something can be squeezed out of it with software and manual settings, but I would never wish this on an ordinary consumer.

I’ve already talked about the chips, which means it’s time to talk about the battery. This is where Highscreen is playing dirty. They have several lines of smartphones that are famous for their battery life and capacious batteries. Highscreen Boost 3 is equipped with two batteries and replaceable covers. A standard 3000 mAh battery is enough for a day of use with a smartphone. The second 6000 mAh battery will make you forget about portable chargers forever. Listen to music, play Pokemon Go, do whatever you want with it. Over the course of an entire Sunday of playing Pokemon Go, I managed to drain the extended Boost 3 battery to 50 percent.

Now let's talk about Xiaomi. 3000 mAh is enough for a smartphone, but not for a smartphone from the Chinese company Xiaomi, which eats with a huge appetite. Many will say that the problem can be solved by flashing the firmware, but for some reason at the presentation Xiaomi forgets to mention that their smartphones eat up the battery if you do not install custom firmware. Two SIM cards and always-on wireless connections are ready to power your smartphone in less than a day, even if you don't touch it. Many users complain about problems in the kernel, due to which Xiaomi smartphones cannot sleep. I am inclined to believe in the existence of these problems.

And now another dishonest move from Highscreen. I'm talking about sound. Xiaomi makes excellent headphones. I have their latest model. I was inspired to see special presets for each model of branded headphones in the Xiaomi smartphone. I was disappointed to realize that the iPhone played much better without all the presets.

Highscreen Boost 3 for 16,990 rubles plays better than an iPhone or any other smartphone for 50, 60 and 70 thousand rubles. This is a credit to the company's work with a talented engineer. Highscreen worked on both software and hardware. The result is impressive. My colleague has already talked about the sound of Boost 3. I can only add that every flagship should sound like this, but only the Highscreen company’s flagship sounds like this.

Design and materials

But enough about the hardware. A smartphone should be pleasing to the eye, fit comfortably in the hand, be durable and attractive. All this can be said about Xiaomi smartphones. They are thin and attractive. They are durable and well made. I wasn’t at all ashamed to take my very inexpensive Xiaomi out of my pocket, because it looks great. Even the plastic body looks and feels very good. After several falls I was able to verify its reliability.

Alas, the flagship device from Highscreen looks very simple both in terms of design and thanks to the materials used. As I pulled the Boost 3 out of my pocket to change tracks, I thought, “I got this because it sounds great.” With a thick battery and an additional back cover, it looks even a little more interesting. It seems reliable, but it's not. Plastic doesn't inspire any confidence. The back cover is made in such a way that if you are going to change it often, the buttons will quickly fall out of it.

I'm exaggerating a bit, and the Highscreen will most likely last you a long time, but make me forget everything I know about this smartphone and I would walk past the display case with it, stopping at the display case with beautiful Xiaomi smartphones. Yes, I also love with my eyes and I hope that Highscreen will work on the design of future smartphones.

Operating system and software

And I would like to end with the most interesting thing. Why did I give up Xiaomi brand smartphones? Because this company makes cool hardware, an attractive design, and then ruins it all with terrible software. MIUI looks attractive, but its bugs are not fixed, and everything works disgustingly. they can’t work in the background, Bluetooth devices are always forgotten and fall off, the battery charge disappears before our eyes, and there is no hope for an update that can fix everything. New Xiaomi smartphones are coming out very quickly. Even faster, the company forgets about smartphones released earlier. I won’t even talk about the various Chinese services that no one will use. They most likely work as well as MIUI.

Highscreen firmware is pure Android without a shell. The smartphone only has a couple of music applications installed. As you can guess, everything works much more stable, and bugs are fixed over time. As for the Android update, both smartphones run on Android Lollipop; no one has mentioned Marshmallow yet. This is not so important when the smartphone is stable, and stability is not Xiaomi’s strong point. Rumor has it that smartphones with MediaTek processors are updated more slowly, and the software does not work on them. There were no problems with applications, and as for updates, the only smartphone under 20 thousand rubles that is updated is Nexus.

In discussions about the troubles of Xiaomi and their smartphones, I am often told that you just need to install custom firmware, and the devices will work much better. I'm talking about devices for consumers now. I’ll say this again: Xiaomi at its presentation does not say that the firmware is bad and will need to be replaced. We buy a smartphone so that it serves us faithfully. Making it stable and reliable is the task of its manufacturer.

The decision of the judges of the fight

There is only one referee for this match. But smartphones competed in different disciplines. Time to show the scores for each.

  • Price: a draw with a slight advantage in favor of Xiaomi. The Chinese smartphone has made a series of moves to attract budget-conscious buyers. Highscreen responded with service and support that attracted the practical and forward-thinking.
  • Iron: Highscreen victory. Xiaomi attracted lovers of advanced technology with a painful move, but Highscreen stunned with a powerful blow to the battery and sound.
  • Design and materials: victory for Xiaomi. The Chinese made the whole world squint at the dazzling design of Xiaomi smartphones. Highscreen, squinting, missed a series of blows.
  • Operating system and software: Highscreen victory. At the very end of the fight, a banana peel falls from Xiaomi's pocket. Xiaomi knocks itself out. Highscreen prudently left all the garbage in the trash.

The fight turned out to be interesting, but the cruel truth sounds like this. For 17 thousand rubles you can buy a beautiful smartphone from China, which will not work normally without magic and witchcraft. Or you can spend this money on a Russian smartphone, which will have a couple of cool features, but even without them it will work well. You can get headphones from Xiaomi.

In this review, we will look at Highscreen smartphones, highlight their main features, after studying the catalog with prices and photos.

Prices and specifications for Highscreen smartphones vary greatly. The manufacturer produces several unique lines of devices: budget, with an interesting design, with especially capacious batteries. But, regardless of the chosen model, all devices from the manufacturer in question stand out from other B-brands by their high build quality, powerful hardware, functionality, and from A-brands by their low cost.

Highscreen: review of popular models and prices for smartphones

Highscreen smartphones have prices ranging from 5-20 thousand rubles. At the same time, devices in the high price segment are characterized by a long battery life, 4G support, powerful technical equipment, and all modern functions and interfaces.

Thus, the flagship, Boost 3, the price of which reaches 20 thousand rubles, has a powerful battery that can last up to 14 days without recharging. This record is achieved using the company's proprietary Dual Power technology. The phone comes with 2 batteries with a capacity of 6,000 and 3,000 mAh. The user can independently model the size and suitable battery capacity depending on the needs. Boost 3 is not only a “long-lasting” battery, but also the purest sound, an incredible camera made using SOCELL technology with instant focusing and 6-lens optics.

The next devices from the “long-lived” line – Power Rage and Power Four – received a battery capacity of 4 mAh, which allows them to work without recharging for up to 15 days in standby mode. And the Power Five received a 5000 mAh battery, which is housed in a thin 10 mm body. The cost of the devices considered is 9.11 and 16 thousand rubles, respectively.

Many users want to buy the previous generation Highscreen smartphone, Boost 2. It is noteworthy that the creators of this model sent an application for securing the status of “The most durable smartphone in the world” to the Guinness Book of Records committee.

The next direction of the company’s activity is the development and production of cheap smartphones. At the same time, the company uses a slightly different strategy than other B-brands. Yes, it is ready to save on case materials and equipment, but not on processors and screens. And although the budget Highscreen phone will cost a little more than other Chinese brands, it will have decent specifications. Budget Highscreen devices include Spark and Alpha Rage.

The well-known Nokia brand offers customers phones with additional color panels. But this accessory will cost customers no less than 700 rubles. Highscreen has taken a different route and complements some smartphone models (Prime L, Omega Prime XL) with color panels as standard; you don’t have to buy anything additional.

Many manufacturers are trying to produce devices with the maximum screen diagonal. Meanwhile, Highscreen presents tiny phones with a screen diagonal of 4 inches (Spark 2, Pure F). Thin and elegant, they fit perfectly in the hand and have a powerful filling.

The Russian brand Highscreen is known for devices with high-capacity batteries. Moreover, some models come with two batteries, allowing you to choose between long operating time and light weight. Unfortunately, not all phones distributed by this company are of high quality. This article will talk about those devices for which reviews are written mainly in a positive way. Buying any of the gadgets discussed is unlikely to seriously disappoint.

An LCD matrix was created using technology. This means that it can boast of perfect color reproduction; the picture is clearly visible even on the street under bright sunlight.

The device also receives positive reviews for its small size and 124-gram weight. You can reach any point on the screen with your thumb, no need for a second hand. This design also has a negative side: the manufacturer had to install a simple battery under the back cover, the capacity of which does not exceed 2500 mAh. However, with an AMOLED display, even such a small parameter is enough for one and a half days of battery life.

Of course, it would be foolish to consider the Highscreen Razar an ideal smartphone. The 8-megapixel camera installed here does not evoke a feeling of admiration. You can also blame the creators for the missing fingerprint scanner. Otherwise, the device is well worth the money spent.

Highscreen Power Five Max will definitely suit those who want to use a productive device. Under the body there is an eight-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor - the power of this chip is enough to run absolutely any games. The device also has 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of permanent memory. A 13-megapixel camera is designed for photography, which is only slightly inferior to the modules built into gadgets from or. The smartphone turned out to be heavy, but it included a 5000 mAh battery. For most buyers, this is enough for a couple of days of battery life of the device under high load.

Highscreen Boost 3 SE Pro

If you don’t want to spend a lot of money, then you can take a look at the Highscreen Boost 3 SE Pro, which is sold in Russian retail for about 12 thousand rubles. Externally, the device is very different from its Chinese competitors. The fact is that the device has sharp corners, which almost everyone has abandoned, with the exception of Sony. The back cover also has a unique design, on which you can find an atypical pattern.

As for the characteristics of the device, they are quite good. The device is powered by an eight-core MediaTek MT6753 processor with a clock frequency of up to 1.3 GHz. Also hidden under the body of the smartphone are 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of permanent memory. The picture will be displayed on a 5-inch IPS display with Full HD resolution. The pixel density is very high, which is clearly noticeable in games and when watching movies.

But the main advantage of the gadget is that the box contains two batteries at once. One has a capacity of 3100 mAh, the thickness of a smartphone with such a battery does not exceed 9 mm. The second battery has a capacity of 6900 mAh, providing a much longer operating time. For such a battery there is a separate cover, also included in the kit, and the thickness of the device increases to 13.9 mm.

Perhaps Highscreen Boost 3 SE Pro is the best choice for people who find using a portable battery inconvenient. The device also copes well with photography. Last but not least, we should thank the aperture of the 13-megapixel module, which opens up to f/2.0.

Modern smartphones are multifunctional devices that allow you not only to communicate with loved ones and business partners, but also to listen to music and watch videos offline. Fans of computer games have the opportunity to participate in battles. We present to your attention an overview of the TOP 3 best Highscreen smartphones that appeared on the Russian market in 2017.

Smartphone Highscreen Power Rage Evo

In this model, the manufacturer added a number of functions and increased performance. One of its features is the presence of a capacious battery, although this parameter is not considered a record among Highscreens, but it significantly affects the battery life:
  1. Equipment and appearance. Despite the compact size of the package, it can easily fit a smartphone, a USB cable, a 5 V power adapter with a current of up to 2 A, a transparent film to protect the screen, a stereo headset with in-ear inserts, a transparent silicone bumper and an OTG adapter. From the documentation, the kit includes a user manual. This model comes in 3 colors: dark blue, brown and gold. The collapsible body is made of metal. The cover has two plastic inserts that promote stable operation of the antennas of communication centers. The screen is protected from scratches by a high-quality oleophobic coating. Under the back cover there are several compartments: two for microSIM cards, one for a memory card and the largest for the battery. What is important is that the battery does not support the cards, but changing them during operation is not encouraged. The main camera lens is flush and offset to the right. Nearby is the flash LED. In the center of the lid is the manufacturer's trademark. On the lower part of the front side of the case there are touch control buttons. On the top there is a speaker, a light sensor and an auxiliary camera. On the right side there is a button to activate the operation and a volume control. At the end below the display there is a microUSB port and a microphone, at the top there is a jack for connecting a headset. With dimensions of 144x71x10 mm, the device weighs 183 g.
  2. Screen. The smartphone is equipped with a 5-inch IPS touch screen. It is covered with 2.5D glass from Asahi Glass Dragontrail against scratches and mechanical impacts. Thanks to the design features and the use of modern technologies, the display resolution is 1280x720 pixels, which corresponds to HD quality. The screen is framed by an elegant frame with dimensions of 4 mm in width and 17 mm in bottom. Due to the absence of an air gap between the outer glass and the surface of the matrix, image doubling does not occur, and there is no glare in natural light. The inconvenience is the need to replace the entire screen if damaged. The oleophobic coating of the display reduces the likelihood of grease stains on the surface; if they appear, they can be easily removed. When manually controlling operating modes, the brightness adjustment range is from 22 to 500 cd/m2. The automatic brightness level change function works flawlessly and there is no flickering. Thanks to optimal viewing angles, the color rendition of the image is virtually unaffected from any viewing angle.
  3. Configuration. The heart of the phone is a 4-core MediaTek MT6737 processor that supports a clock frequency of 1300 MHz. Graphics adapter - Mali-T720. Operational speed is ensured by 3 gigabytes of RAM. To store music files, movies and other information there is a built-in memory of 16 GB. During prolonged loading, no significant heating of the lid was detected. The device is equipped with the sixth version of Android OS.
  4. Multimedia and camera. For photographs and video recording, the manufacturer supplied a 13.0 megapixel camera with autofocus. For shooting in low light there is an LED flash. Work can be carried out in automatic or manual mode with a maximum illumination of up to 1600 units and the ability to set the desired shutter speed and aperture. In video mode, the maximum resolution reaches 1080 pixels. For selfies, there is a 5.0 MP secondary camera. High-quality music playback is carried out using an audio player that has sound control functions in the virtual DTS system. There is an FM tuner that allows you to listen to popular radio stations and the latest news through headphones.
  5. Connection provided in LTE bands. Wireless connection is carried out using Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 modules. Two SIM cards allow you to work with several mobile operators. GPS and GLONASS units are responsible for satellite navigation. During a cold start, the communication delay with the satellite does not exceed 10 seconds. For on-the-spot orientation, the smartphone is equipped with an electronic compass.
  6. Battery has a capacity of 4000 mAh, which is enough for communication for 2-3 days. When watching movies, the battery will have to be charged after eight hours, and when running games with powerful graphics - after 5 hours. Full charging is carried out in 3–4 hours. The presence of PowerBank mode will allow you to charge another device or wireless headset.
Having familiarized yourself with the technical capabilities of this model, you can come to the conclusion that in addition to a number of disadvantages (lack of backlighting of navigation keys, notification indicator), there are many advantages: a variety of body colors, high quality photography, the presence of a PowerBank mode, decent sound quality, fairly long battery life .

The price of Highscreen Power Rage Evo in Russia is 10,999 rubles. Watch the video review below:

On the front side of the phone there is a speaker, a selfie lens, and a light sensor. There are no navigation keys on the case. The back side is equipped with a main camera and two flash LEDs. The screen has a slightly convex profile thanks to the use of 2.5D glass.

  3. Performance provides a powerful single-chip MediaTek MT6737T processor, based on four Cortex-A53 cores and supporting operation at a clock frequency of 1450 MHz. Image processing is provided by the Mali-T720 MP2 video card. To work with system programs, 1 GB of RAM is installed. Storage of necessary personal data is provided by 8 GB of internal memory, which can be increased up to 128 GB. The pictures are obtained in good quality, without significant comments, corresponding to the capabilities of the installed optics. Additional functions include autofocus, 3x zoom, and photo flash. Volume and sound quality are quite acceptable, but low frequencies are low. The microphone is capable of transmitting speech clearly and without distortion. The earpiece reproduces the interlocutor's speech a little muffled and I would like more high frequencies. Video shooting is carried out in low quality. You can listen to FM radio stations through headphones.
  5. Interface and wireless modules. The communication module operates in the LTE band and supports 2G, 3G, 4G protocols. Wireless connection is provided by Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n adapters at a frequency of 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth version 4.0. This model provides the ability to work with several cellular operators. The connection with satellites is carried out within 30 seconds thanks to the presence of GPS and GLONASS units.
  6. Autonomy. The smartphone uses a 3300 mAh battery. This is enough so that in normal mode you can count on 2 days of work. When actively watching movies, the battery charge should last for 6.5–7 hours, when starting games - for 3–4 hours. It will take about 3 hours to fully charge with a standard device.
The technical parameters and functionality of this model allow us to classify it as a mid-range budget smartphone. Good performance, a large screen, relatively good battery life and an affordable price will allow the phone to become an assistant in everyday life and business.

The Highscreen brand is developing dynamically, trying to cover all available niches in the mobile device market. So far, the share of the Russian market occupied by the company that owns the brand has not even reached 5%, but this figure is increasing from year to year.

It cannot be said that Highscreen gadgets are at the forefront of the progress of mobile technology, but they cannot be called outright outsiders either. In the middle and upper segment of economy class devices, this brand is quite competitive.
