The main symbol of Kuala Lumpur is, of course, the tall Petronas Towers, and all tourists strive to see both the towers themselves and the city from the heights of these towers. But here a bummer awaits them - the towers are closed to tourists, and there is no way to get to the top if you don’t work there, or you don’t know directors from Petronas. Only the “skybridge” is open to tourists - a small bridge between the towers between the 42nd and 43rd floors at an altitude of 170 meters, and even then only at certain times and in limited quantities. But do you want to go higher?

And there is higher! And this is one of the tallest TV towers in the world (7th place) Menara KL, which is located nearby. And from this tower we can see the city from a height of 300 meters!!! This is where you definitely need to go.

The Menara Tower has a total height of 421 meters with a spire, but during its construction they made not only an antenna, but also an attraction for tourists. There are two observation decks, a revolving restaurant and most importantly - stunning views of Kuala Lumpur and its surroundings! The tower is open from 9-00 to 22-00, so you can see the city both during the day and at night, the main thing is that there is no strong haze, which is a very common occurrence here due to humidity. It’s better to go there early in the morning, when the air is still cool and clean, and, no less important, when the crowds of Chinese tourists have not woken up!!!

There are two viewing platforms for viewing. The first “bottom” one is called Obsrvation desk. This is a closed area at an altitude of 276 meters. From this platform you look around through thick glass. For inspection it’s quite good, but for photos it’s not at all the same. But a visit to this site costs only 52 rignits (about 700 rubles).

The upper platform is Sky Deck. It is located at an altitude of 300 meters, but it also costs 2 times more - 105 ringit (1400 rubles). But there is no longer any glass here (except for the fence, of course) and we are looking at the city in the open air!!! The main thing is that there is no rain) Visitors to the upper platform can safely go down and use the lower one. But believe me, looking down from above, the lower platform will already be complete “garbage”!

Menara has a great view of the city center and the Petronas Towers, and I believe this is one of those towers.

And this is a view of Bukit Bintang. That red building with towers on the edges is the famous "Berjaya" with its famous shopping center.

Now let's look at the opposite side. Here you can see green parks and new buildings on the outskirts of the city. Yes, yes, this is all Kuala Lumpur, it is simply unrealistically huge, and even from this height you cannot see its borders.

The main feature of the upper observation deck is the “Sky box”. These are a pair of glass booths located on either side of the tower, with completely transparent walls and floors.

Standing at an altitude of 300 meters is a very thrilling sensation, even for me) Especially if you look down. “It’s breathtaking” - if you don’t go into details.... For many, the “spirit” is so breathtaking that they move around the “boxing” at a crawl)))

As I already said, there are only 2 cabins on different sides of the tower. Both booths are popular for photography and only allow one couple/group/family at a time, so there are always queues. Luckily we came in the morning and the line was short. This is the "rear" cabin facing west. There was almost no queue at all, so you could easily take pictures.

But the “skybox” with a view of the Towers is much more popular, and even in the morning I had to stand for about 15 minutes. And what will happen in the afternoon when the Chinese arrive...

Advice . If you want to get the most transparent glass, use a PL filter, otherwise the glass will reflect and the “transparency” will be lost. If you are an amateur, the words PL filter are not clear to you and your camera cannot take a normal photo (and 99% of the time it will not work if you are an amateur), then you can resort to the help of a professional photographer who stands in this “box” and takes photographs with his camera for a small fee.

And in the tower there is a rotating restaurant "Atmosphere 360", which is located between two observation platforms. Here you can have both lunch and dinner. The price depends on the time and ranges from RM100 for lunch to RM200+ for dinner per person. The restaurant operates on a buffet system or, in our opinion, a buffet; drinks are extra. fee. You need to reserve a table in advance (especially for dinner), either at the ticket office at the bottom of the tower itself, or on the restaurant’s website. The restaurant seemed a little expensive to me, so I limited myself to visiting the upper area. It seems that restaurant visitors can go up to the upper observation deck, so they can eat and watch.

Overall, a great place for a romantic dinner!

To summarize, I will say that Menara Tower is definitely a must-visit place in Kuala Lumpur! You won’t see this view of the city anywhere else, unless of course you are a Petronas employee and you have access to the upper floors of commercial towers)

Among all kinds and varied skyscrapers Kuala Lumpur, the first ranks of which include Petronas Twin Towers, there is one no less interesting high-rise building that I would like to tell you about. This Menara TV Tower (Menara Tower). If you have a choice of visiting Petronas or the TV Tower, then it makes sense to choose the Menara TV Tower, below I will tell you why...

After he failed to climb Petronas, the reason for this was a large influx of visitors, tickets were sold out 2 days in advance, and the price was not encouraging, it was decided to visit the observation deck Menara TV Tower. The height of the Menara TV tower is 421 meters, it ranks 7th in the world in height, ahead of the Ostankino TV tower, which ranks 4th. The tower is located in the center of Kuala Lumpur, not far from Petronas, its evening silhouette can even be seen between the high-rise buildings. Because of this illumination, the Menara TV Tower is often called the “Garden of Light.”

The next day, late in the evening, we decided to visit the observation tower. We decided to walk from KLCC station, it took us 30 minutes. We saw our target from afar.

Menara TV Tower located in the Bukit Nanas Nature Reserve. This is the oldest nature reserve, which received its status in 1906. The reserve preserves many species of forest animals and many species of tropical trees.

But we had to go quite far, the road bends because... going uphill, the tower was almost no closer. Cars and motorcycles rushed past us at the speed of light, but we kept walking and walking. Finally, we reached the site where the tower is located. In front of the tower there are pavilions where F1 car simulators are located. We took pictures of the cars.

We bought tickets for the viewing party. As it turned out, there are 2 observation decks on the TV tower: one closed (ticket price 47 Ringgit (17 USD)), the other open and located several floors higher (cost 90 MYR (32 USD)). The price of the ticket for the open viewing included something else. We naturally chose the first option. A few minutes on the high-speed elevator and we are at the top. The height of the observation deck on the Menara TV tower is no less than 276 meters. The observation deck is round in shape so that all parts of the city can be seen. Kuala Lumpur is a very big city, it stretches very far. Photos of different parts of the city.

There are a lot of banks in KL.

There are also unfinished buildings covered with mesh. Mountains are visible in the distance, and all the land up to the mountains is built up with houses. In clear weather, visibility from the Menara observation deck can reach 50 km.

Private sector, cottages.

All buildings are very different in construction and design. I didn't find two identical high-rise buildings.

And of course, the view of the Petronas Twin Towers.

A little closer. It can be seen that the height of the observation deck is approximately equal to the height of the twin towers.

Night view.

Unfortunately, the night photos turned out very poorly, I really missed a tripod and a suction cup, but the evening views are very good. You can look at the high-rise buildings of KL for a long time, observing the ordinary evening life of the city.

On our way back we took a photo in front of the sign.

  1. no queue
  2. costs less
  3. from the TV tower you can see Petronas

Menara Tower or KL Tower

If you don't know what to do in Kuala Lumpur, feel free to head to KL Tower. Here you will find a small zoo, pony rides, an eco-park, an aquarium, a Formula 1 simulator, an aquarium, and a cinema. All 33 pleasures that passed us by because we knew nothing about them. If they knew, maybe they would have come in, at least to ride a pony :) But they passed by...

How to get there?

The most expensive, but easiest and absolutely tireless way to get here is by taxi. A cheaper option is to take the monorail. Raja Chulan or Buket Nanas stations are suitable for you. And finally, it’s completely free - on foot.

We walked, without a map, from the Petronas Twin Towers to the Minara TV Tower, without losing sight of it.

The most stressful thing about going to the TV tower is climbing a fairly steep hill, especially in the heat. That is why a free shuttle bus runs from the foot of the hill to the entrance to the amusement park. We, again, had never heard of him, so we walked. Well, we are no strangers! :)

How much does it cost to go up to the observation deck?

Naturally, all tourists who want to look at the city from a bird's eye view have a natural question: “How much?”

And here, an equally natural answer arises: “How much are you willing to pay for pleasure?” To help the tourist make up his mind, after a difficult climb, beautiful Malaysian women pick him up under white hands and begin, on the way to the ticket office, so that God forbid, the tourist does not change his mind, to describe in colors what a beautiful city he will see, having climbed to the highest open observation deck in all for only 99RM.

If a tourist does not rush to the cashier with money, he is offered a cheaper combination: a climb to a closed observation deck (but still higher than the Petronas Towers Bridge) plus a number of the attractions described above. The price of the issue will depend on the number of attractions.

How?! Aren't you ready for that?! Well, then just buy a lift to the observation deck. Only 49RM.

But even the last sentence didn't make us rush to the checkout. The girl lost all interest in us, probably thinking about greedy tourists, and we finally got freedom of choice. And there was plenty to choose from.

In addition to the described opportunities, you can consider other options for visiting a restaurant - both eat and see the city. The restaurant has 3 visiting times.

Lunch, aka Lunch, from 11:30 to 15:00 cost 75.90RM/58.60RM (adults/children)

Afternoon tea, aka Afternoon Tea, from 15:30 to 17:30 RM 50/RM 41.40 (adults/children). On weekends and holidays this event bears the proud name Hi-Tea and for adults it becomes a little more expensive - 58.60RM

Dinner, aka Dinner. There are two shifts for dinner: the first 18:30 - 20:30, the second 21:00 - 23:00. The price for a hearty buffet dinner is RM 170.70 / RM 119.00 (adults/children). For dinner, reservations are required with full payment in advance. This can be done by calling the hotel on +603 2020 2121 and paying by card or purchasing your dinner ticket here in advance.

The hike to Minara seemed so tiring to us that we absolutely did not want to return for dinner. Afternoon Tea could have been an excellent alternative for us, but, unfortunately, time was not on our team. There were 20 minutes left before the closing of the event and, even if we wanted to, we wouldn’t even have time to pick up a cup, let alone take a breath, enjoy the views, take a photo and have a snack.

In short, we relaxed, bought only the lift to the observation deck (49 RM) and were completely satisfied :)

This is what tickets to the observation deck of the TV tower look like.

KL Tower Menara The Menara television tower in Kuala Lumpur is one of the most important attractions of the capital of Malaysia. The Menara Tower is immediately visible from many places in the city center. How to get to KL Tower Menara? We clarified the route with the duty officer at the monorel station, as well as with the policeman. There are two routes, from two monorail and metro stations (Dang Wangi LRT Station, Bukit Nanas Monorail Station, Masjid Jamek LRT Station) you can walk to the KL Tower Menara stop. Every 15 minutes a minibus departs to the main entrance to the Menara Kuala Lumpur television tower (it is better to take a minibus because it is uphill to the television tower). Free KL Tower Menara minibus schedule from 9 am to 9:30 pm.

There are a lot of visitors in the KL Tower Menara, but the queue at the ticket office is very well organized. Menara Tower staff will advise you in advance on choosing tickets and navigating the tower, what is where and what services and entertainment the Menara complex offers. KL Tower Menara tickets to choose from; there are Combo A, B and C and other standard offers (prices from RM23 to RM99, depending on the day and discount coupons) and two main offers. The first with a visit to the Open Desk tower (RM 155), the price also includes a visit to the Observation Desk, Mini Zoo, XD Theatre, F1 Simulator, Blue Coral Aquarium. The second offer is Observation Desk for RM115, which includes all services listed except the Open Desk of the Menara TV Tower Kuala Lumpur. We chose the first offer for 155 RM, but only saw the open and closed observation decks of the Menara tower; we didn’t have time to see the other options, because... were limited in time. We also wanted to have dinner at the restaurant in the towers, but we didn’t have time. Choose more time to visit the Menara Tower. On the open observation deck Open Desk there is a place for photo sessions, this is where you can “get stuck” in line, there are a lot of selfie lovers. It’s good that there are photographer employees who know good places for photos and help you take good photos for free and not linger in the Open Desk glass cube. Of course, for an additional fee you will be offered to do a professional photo session overlooking the Petronas Towers and beautiful views of the city of Kuala Lumpur.

The KL Tower Menara has many game rooms, attractions, a cinema, an F1 simulator, cafes, shops, a zoo, and an aquarium. Overall, Menara Tower Kuala Lumpur will be very interesting for children.
