High-speed PPPoE connection in Windows 10

Despite the fact that the general style of Microsoft operating systems remains relatively stable from version to version, some aspects change significantly. For example, to create a high-speed connection in Windows 10 using the PPPoE protocol, which is used by most Russian providers, previously you had to go to the System Control Panel and use the Network and Sharing Center. In Windows 10, the concept changed radically. Developers are gradually transferring all basic operating system settings to the System Settings menu. To get to the Internet connection settings, click on the “Start” button, and then on the gear-shaped icon on the right side of the menu. The following window will appear:

Among other items, find “Network and Internet” and go to this section.

In the menu on the left you need to find the “Dialing” section. A list of available options will appear on the right. Click on the “Set up a new connection” link. A special connection or network setup wizard will launch.

Enter the information received from your Internet service provider: Username and Password. Check the "Remember this password" checkbox. We can leave the connection name as is. We wait for a message about the successful creation of the connection and close the dialog box.

Now let's make our PPPoE connection connect automatically. In the Network and Sharing Center, go to the link "Change adapter settings"

Right-click on the newly created connection -> Properties -> Options tab -> Uncheck the option Prompt for name, password... -> OK

Right-click again on the newly created connection -> Create shortcut -> Yes

Secondly, let's enable the display of the "my computer" icon on the desktop. In an empty space, right-click -> Personalization -> Change desktop icons -> Check the box "My Computer" -> OK

Next, the procedure for creating a connection is similar to Windows 7, but setting up the auto-connection is different. Download the reg file, go to downloads (or to another place where the download occurred) -> Right mouse button on the file -> Edit. Here we need to change only two things: instead of your_login and your_password, we enter the login and password, respectively, that we used when creating the PPPoE connection. In addition, if you changed the name of the connection, then instead of “High-speed connection” we enter the previously entered name. We close the file and respond in the affirmative to the save request. Now just run the reg file by double clicking -> agree with the message.
After the system restarts, PPPoE will connect automatically.

Or we can do everything by hand.
Point the arrow at the Start menu->RMB->Run "regedit") and find the following branch:
"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run"
In this branch, create a “string parameter” (right mouse button -> “Create” -> “string parameter”) with an arbitrary name. As a parameter for this entry we write:
rasdial "your_connection_name" your_login your_password
Close the registry editor. The changes will also take effect after a reboot.
