How to make a format after unsuccessful firmware. Correcting the consequences of unsuccessful firmware. How much does it cost to repair a wet phone?

To begin with, you can immediately answer the most common question that torments you!

How much does it cost to repair a wet phone?

We will answer immediately. From 800 rubles! The master will determine more precisely. But as a rule, repairs are much cheaper than buying a new phone.
And one more subtle question

Does it make sense to repair a drowned smartphone?

Of course yes! As we said - it's much cheaper.
Think for yourself...
Cost of a new mid-range phone
10-15 thousand rubles

Repair of drowned man price

average 800-2000 rubles
Does it make sense to buy when your refurbished mobile phone will work like a new one? In this case, you will not need to restore contacts!

So about the cellular “diver-diver”...

This article prompted me to write a large number of calls with questions: “My phone fell into the water, what should I do, how much will it cost to repair a sunken phone?”, or “My phone got wet, it worked right away, then stopped turning on,” or “We washed my phone in the washing machine.” typewriter, the phone does not turn on, can it be repaired? etc.

First, I’ll tell you what to do first if liquid gets into your phone:

  1. The first step is to remove the battery from the phone and do not insert it for at least a day. Oddly enough, what kills the elements inside the phone is not so much water, but electric current, which oxidizes the elements inside and disables the radio elements and the device’s circuit board.
  2. Second thing the phone needs to dry inside. But based on practice, I will tell you that liquid gets inside the phone very quickly, but it can dry for a very long time, not just one day. And even if all the liquid dries inside, there are still salts dissolved in the water, which corrode the radio elements when the phone is operating, since salts are conductors of electric current.
  3. Therefore, I recommend the third step in saving your phone after moisture gets into it: contact service center for phone repair, and it’s better not to hesitate, the sooner you do it, the cheaper the repair will cost, and perhaps only preventive maintenance of the phone’s elements will be enough.

But it's not always so easy. Let’s say you dropped your iPhone into water, but you can’t easily get out the battery without disassembling the device. In this case, if you cannot contact the service center as soon as possible, I advise put iPhone in rice(just don’t laugh, but it really helps! the most ordinary food rice, at first I didn’t believe it, but after people brought in sunken iPhones dried in rice, during repairs it was really clear that the effects of moisture were minimal). The photo shows the board of a recessed iPhone 4, which was placed in rice and then brought to the service center. The board was perfectly clean, the only thing oxidized was the touch screen connector (marked with a red circle). The red diamond shows an indicator that liquid has entered the iPhone.

And now I want to answer the most common question: “How much will it cost to repair a recessed phone?” If the phone does not turn on after liquid gets inside, then I will answer honestly: “I don’t know.” In this case, it is impossible to do without diagnosing the malfunction, since water could damage any element, and therefore the phone must be disassembled and tested to identify the malfunction.

The most harmless case is when the phone is dropped into water, it continues to work, but there are water stains on the screen. It doesn’t seem to be a big deal, but it looks unpleasant, especially against a light background. The only way out of this situation is to replace the display on your phone. Even after the water has dried, traces of it still remain, and it is impossible to remove them from the old screen, since the display contains several layers of film that diffuse the backlight, and it is unrealistic to disassemble them without damaging them.

The worst case is when water that gets into the phone oxidizes the radio elements and disables them. The degree of oxidation depends on the time the phone was in the water, on the amount of liquid that got inside, on whether the battery was immediately pulled out of the submerged phone or after some time. If you do not immediately take action after liquid gets into your phone, then it will end up with approximately the same thing as the phone in the photo. The elements oxidize, the salts corrode the phone parts, and the recessed phone becomes unusable for repair.

The last picture shows the board of a phone that fell into the water and the battery was not immediately removed from it. The phone worked for a while, then turned off and never came back on. Yes, it won’t turn on anymore, the phone cannot be repaired, since many of the radio elements inside have simply rotted. In this case, it is necessary to completely change the circuit board on the phone, which is usually comparable in cost to the price of a used phone of the same model.

Therefore, to avoid this and extend the life of your phone after liquid gets into it, immediately take the measures that I wrote about at the beginning of the article.

Flashing a mobile phone to Android on your own is a simple task that rarely leads to bad consequences if you did not make a mistake with the selection of files. But if something goes wrong, the device may refuse to boot.

Today we will learn how to restore a phone after a failed firmware update. It does not require much time, just downloading the necessary software and a few additional steps.

Recovering with the help of official support

If you tried to update Android using the official firmware, then utilities from the manufacturer will help with recovery.

  • look at the company’s website, download drivers and other software there
  • connect your computer to your phone
  • restore the device to its original state

Each company's software has a specific section responsible for this, but finding it is usually not difficult.

Let's use Recovery

If you tried to install third-party firmware on your device, then at best it will be possible to restore the system by resetting the settings. It can be launched by simultaneously pressing the volume and power buttons. Combinations may vary on different devices. Select the line “wipe data”, then start resetting the device’s contents. You can try to install the operating system again; to do this, select “choose zip from sdcard”. We find the archive with the firmware and start the installation process again. It is better to use a different version, as the old version may lead to the same problems.

Using Flash Tool

This program will help you in all those cases when you need to return your mobile device to its original state. The method is applicable to almost all smartphones. First, download and install ADB Driver Installer. Copy the firmware file to the Firmwares folder located in the Flashtool directory. We take the device and connect it to the PC using a USB cable. Now click the button with the lightning icon in the Flash Tool, and then select the device firmware in the program.

Note that in cases where your smartphone is rooted, installing official firmware will be problematic; usually such actions lead to failures.

In addition, there is a video with detailed instructions for “rolling back” the firmware.

I think that everyone knows a person whose phone fell into the water, and what’s even worse is that person, you yourself.

After a phone gets in water, no matter what Lenovo, Samsung Galaxy, Meiza, HTC, Asus, Nokia, Huawei or iPhone, you need to try to save it and restore it.

Don't worry, water for electronics is not as scary as it is made out to be.

Most flooded mobile devices can be saved and no further action on your part will be required.

Instructions - save a phone that has fallen into water

First of all, remember that time is of the essence. As soon as your cell phone falls into the water, pull it out and immediately remove the battery.

During a rescue operation, this is the most important step to restore functionality.

If the battery is not removable, turn it off using the button. Then remove all cards: SIM cards, memory card, and so on.

If you have the keys, disassemble the case. Do not shake the device - all the water will not be shaken out, and this can cause even greater harm - water will flow from surface spills into relief depressions, where it will be difficult to evaporate.

As I wrote earlier, time is of the essence, so there is no time to hesitate in this phase.

As a rule, they say goodbye to mobile phones after water gets into them, within 48 hours.

This spike could cost your device its life. If your phone falls into a river, lake, soup, or any other place where various impurities are present, you will need to wash it.

For this purpose, it is preferable to rinse with distilled water and isopropyl alcohol (alcohol is a non-aggressive element).

If you have already dismantled and cleaned the device, leave it to dry (some people recommend putting it in a bowl of rice, but I personally never do this - the dust from the rice can damage the smartphone).

Dryers, ovens and other dehumidifiers are prohibited unless you want to have a fried smartphone.

Additionally, the water then evaporates at an accelerated rate and can warp the inside of the device, which is something we definitely want to avoid.

Keep the device for at least 48 hours in a warm place, although 24 hours would probably be enough, but why risk short circuiting and complete death.

Before starting, do not assemble it completely, just insert the battery and try to turn it on.

If everything goes smoothly, you can slowly start adding and testing all the functions to see if they are working correctly, if so, then you were able to successfully save your phone - 100% restore.

However, if the phone doesn't turn on, don't try this again (it won't get better).

Then immediately contact the service, where specialists manage to save 90% of flooded devices.

Personally, I had a rescue operation using the procedure described below and the phone served for a very long time.

How I saved a phone from falling into a toilet with water

They say that one in ten people drops their phone in the water. Mine fell into the toilet, although in terms of harmfulness it is no different from a bath or swimming pool.

NOTE: Remember that before entering the toilet, take your phone out of your pocket. If trouble comes, follow the instructions:

  1. Quickly remove the phone from the water - a quick reaction will prevent water from getting inside the device.
  2. Turn off - if water gets inside the device to avoid possible short circuit/burning of components. If your smartphone is turned off or disabled, do not try to turn it on.
  3. Remove parts that you can - if your smartphone has a removable battery, immediately remove it and remove the SIM card.
  4. Dry your phone with a dry paper towel—do not use a dryer.
  5. Get rid of moisture - insert the device into a bag with silica gel (if you can find it, of course).
  6. To restore your phone - leave the device for at least 24 hours in a warm place.

Have you ever had an adventure with a flooded smartphone? How did you save him?

Let's figure out how to flash Android through a computer/laptop if it doesn't want to turn on. In this case, we mean a phone and tablet running Android OS.

This article is suitable for all brands that produce phones on Android 9/8/7/6: Samsung, HTC, Lenovo, LG, Sony, ZTE, Huawei, Meizu, Fly, Alcatel, Xiaomi, Nokia and others. We are not responsible for your actions.

System malfunctions can be so serious that resetting the settings does not fix them. If you are faced with such a situation, then it will be useful to know how to reflash Android to return the phone to working condition.

Bootloader check

The first thing you need to do before flashing Android is to make sure that the problem is of a software nature. Press the Power button: if the phone shows at least some signs of life (clicks, the logo is lit, the robot is frozen, an exclamation mark), then the bootloader is working. This means you can flash your smartphone, and it will continue to work.

Even if nothing happens when you press the power button, it’s too early to panic. Connect the device to your computer via USB and press the power button or the combination of “Power” and volume down keys.

If the computer sees the connected phone, it means it can be flashed - the main thing is to know how to do it yourself. If your smartphone does not show any signs of life, take it to a service center. The device probably does not turn on due to hardware problems, the elimination of which requires the intervention of a competent specialist.

Android firmware via computer

If the system is so damaged that it won’t turn on, you will have to reinstall it - in other words, flash the phone through the computer. If the manufacturer has provided for this possibility and developed special software, then there will be no problems.

For example, owners of LG smartphones are lucky: the LG Mobile Support Tool program, which can be downloaded from the equipment manufacturer’s website, will do everything for them.

  1. Install and launch LG Mobile Support Tool.
  2. Install the phone drivers in the “Install USB Driver” section.
  3. Connect your smartphone via USB. Press the power button or the combination “Power + Vol-”. The device should appear in the program window.

Increase

Open the "Advanced Features" section and click "Recover from an update error." The application will do the rest of the work on its own, eliminating problems that prevent Android from working. There is a similar program for Sony Xperia - PC Companion.

Increase

If there is no official application for flashing or restoring the system, you can use software from third-party developers. Each brand has its own program:

  • LG - KDZ Updater.
  • Samsung - Odin.
  • HTC - Android SDK Platform Tools.
  • Lenovo - SP Flash Tool.

The listed programs work on the same principle. You connect your phone via USB, download the firmware file for a specific smartphone model and install it through the application. After successful installation, Android starts again and works without errors.

Android firmware via Recovery Menu

If a custom Recovery (for example, TWRP or Clockwork Mod) was installed on your phone before problems with the system appeared, then you can flash the device without programs on your computer. However, you will need the computer itself to download the firmware and transfer it to the memory card.

  1. Find the firmware for your phone model and download it to your computer.
  2. Place the file on a memory card and install it in your smartphone. If your smartphone does not support microSD, this method will not work.
  3. Launch Recovery Menu. The combination “Power” + “Vol+” is usually used.
  4. Clean your phone of damaged files by selecting “wipe data/factory reset”.
  5. Click "install zip from sdcard".
  6. Select the firmware file placed on the memory card and confirm the installation.

Increase

After installation is complete, click “Reboot system now” to complete the installation and apply the configuration. After rebooting, Android should start without problems.

Surely many owners of devices operating on the Android platform have heard about the problem of “bricking” a smartphone. And some inexperienced experimenters are familiar with this situation first-hand. What to do in this case? How to get Android out of the “brick” state? These are the questions we will try to answer in today’s material.

Just don’t panic and fall flat on your face – the worst has already happened, so let’s first calmly figure out what it means to “brick” a device. We are talking about a complete (maybe partial) loss of functionality of the gadget as a result of careless intervention in the operating system or incorrect actions in relation to the software.

The main signs of the Android “brick” state

  • Inability to turn on the device.
  • There is no response to buttons (physical and on-screen).
  • The system constantly generates an error indicating problems with the built-in or RAM memory.
  • When you turn on the device, an error appears about the inability to load the Android operating system.
  • Other.

In this case, an ordinary user, in a semi-fainting state, will take his Android to a service center where, realizing that a sweet pie has arrived, they will include a far from democratic bill for banal manipulations.

Reasons why a tablet or smartphone gets bricked

The first and, alas, most common is an unsuccessful flashing. Sometimes an inexperienced user suddenly gets tired of his operating system and, having read information from wherever possible, decides to start software modernization of his device. And now the downloading of the latest and most fashionable firmware from who knows what source begins. The result, in general, is predictable - from an imbalance in the system to a complete failure of work.

Conclusion - do not try to reinstall the operating system unnecessarily, and if you decide, do it from verified and trustworthy sources.

The second reason is some kind of failure during the flashing procedure, i.e. interrupted process. For example, they did not pay attention to the battery charge of their device, which ran out at the most inopportune moment (wireless installation method). Draw your own conclusion.

It is not uncommon to roll back to factory software after installing custom firmware.

Various “improvers” designed to increase performance, transfer speed, etc., forced stop of some system applications, even the seemingly harmless installation of a new theme - all these are factors that can bring your gadget to a coma.

How to fix the situation

Standard methods:

First way- we do hard reset(factory reset) via recovery menu(recovery menu). Our actions:

Turn off the device completely, i.e. We take out the battery for a couple of minutes and install it again. Then press and hold the volume key (usually up, but on some devices it can be down). Now you need to press the “home” (or power) key and hold three keys until the “recovery” mode starts. In the menu that appears on the display, select (using the volume rocker) the line “ Wipe Data/Factory Reset»:

We wait until the system completes the reset process and reboots.

Second way– we try to get into recovery mode and flash from there (much safer than using all kinds of software):

And choose Wipe data/factory reset(see above) to delete data. Then you need to select Wipe cache partition. This is necessary in order to erase the partition in this case cache. Now we are trying to install our operating system via install zip from sdcard. To do this, select the archive with the firmware and confirm your choice

To flash the firmware, go to the office. website of the manufacturer of your device. Find the official version of your Android model and strictly follow the instructions.

It is quite possible that your device does not respond to anything at all, including buttons. In this case, you can enter recovery using USB JIG. It’s a cheap gadget, but if you can’t find it, here’s a video for those who are especially handy:

Third way– We try to connect our device to another computer via USB, or replace the cable itself, and then “reflash” it. The fact is that there may have been a lack of power in the PC power supply for the firmware procedure (this, by the way, is a common reason for Android being “bricked”).

Fourth method- restoring the Android “brick” using FlashTool(video):

That's probably all on the topic. If you have had successful experience in resuscitating your device, please share it.
