How to stick a protective glass on an iPhone. Necessary materials and tools. We complete the operation and remove the air

Technological progress does not stand still: telephones, which previously could only make calls, today combine a huge number of functions without which we can no longer imagine our lives. We sell a huge variety of accessories for our “favorites”: cases, protective glasses and films, plugs for the headphone slot, pendants - it’s too much to list. Some of this is just decoration, some is a necessity. The latter also includes protective glass for your phone. How to glue and what functions does it perform? And is it really necessary?

Why is it necessary?

Before you figure out how to properly glue the protective glass onto your phone, it’s worth understanding why it’s even needed. In terms of its functions, glass is the same as film, but the latter can only protect the screen from scratches; in the event of a fall, the probability of a happy outcome is very small. Those glasses that are widely available are tempered, so that if the phone is in danger of being broken, it will take the entire blow.

It may crack, individual pieces may break off, but otherwise everything will be fine - replacing it is much cheaper than the entire display. There is another type of protection, currently available only in China - liquid glass. It is applied to the screen like a regular varnish, and after drying, according to the manufacturers, it will be able to protect the screen from water. In fact, such a coating increases the sensitivity of the sensor and also visually increases the brightness of the display, but does not perform any protective functions at all. This type of protection is not visible on the display. That is why more and more people today are wondering how to glue protective glass onto a phone, iPhone, or any other company’s device in order to save money on repairs.

Where to glue?

So, how to glue protective glass to your phone screen? Firstly, it is better not to improvise, but to follow the instructions on the package. In addition, often in places where such accessories are sold, sticking is offered as an additional service (for a certain fee, most often). If you decide that this is too simple, then proceed to gluing yourself.

Necessary equipment

So, we have a protective glass for the phone. How to glue it yourself? First, you need to stock up on everything you need for this simple operation. The glass set includes wet and dry wipes - one degreases the surface, and the other removes dust and small debris from it.

You will also need tape or adhesive tape to remove dust; they can also be used to pre-fix the glass, adjusting it to a specific smartphone (most often the glass is universal, so it will also need to be correctly positioned on the display, taking into account the features of a particular model).

Preparing the display

How to glue protective glass on a Samsung phone, iPhone, Lenovo and others? Before starting work, you should wash your hands with soap - this will help get rid of excess fat. In addition, you need to clear your workspace.

Next, the display is degreased (to do this, you need to use one of the napkins from the kit, but if they are not there, just moisten a cotton pad with alcohol or perfume) - you need to wipe it very carefully, without leaving a single streak. Excess alcohol is removed with a dry cloth, dust particles are also wiped off with it (the most persistent ones will have to be removed with tape, simply pressing it to the dusty place) and the remaining stains are wiped off.

And gluing

So, we have prepared the display. How do you glue the protective glass onto your phone? First, if it is dirty, it is wiped off in the same way as the display. After this, you must, holding the glass by the edges so that it does not get dirty again, remove the film covering the adhesive layer from it.

Holding the glass as close to the screen as possible, you should find the optimal position for it (you need to align it with the main button and speaker), and you can help yourself with the help of narrow strips of adhesive tape that can be glued along the intended border of the glass. Once the correct position is selected, the glass is pressed against the display.

Elimination of defects

So, we figured out how to glue protective glass to a Lenovo phone or any other smartphone. But what to do if there is an air bubble underneath? In this case, you need to press the cloth tightly against the glass and move it up and down, as if squeezing out excess air. As for dust, which can also get under it, just use something flat (for example, a credit card) to pick up the edge of the glass, and then carefully remove it.

If you remove it too quickly and without special care, you can damage the plastic as well as the adhesive layer, which means you will have to buy a new one in any case. Having removed it and holding it with the adhesive side down (if you turn the glass over, dust and debris will instantly attach to the glue, and cleaning it is not at all easy), you need to wipe the display from any debris (you can also use tape, small pieces of which can easily remove dust), after which, following all the instructions, the glass is glued again.

Doesn't hold up!

But what should you do if you bought a protective glass for your phone, you know how to glue it, but it still doesn’t stick to the screen? In this case, there are two possible options for such “disobedience” of the accessory: either the protection and/or display were poorly prepared (it is clear that in this case you will have to repeat the entire operation, strictly following the instructions), or the glass does not fit a specific smartphone model and does not stick due to the fact that its edges touch the protruding parts of the phone (the same start button).

In any case, if for some reason it does not stick immediately or comes off, you need to start all over again, try again, and then, in case of failure, if possible, consult with a specialist who can point out errors, if any. There is.

Conclusion

So, protective glass is not just an alternative to film. It will not allow the display to break if dropped even from a height of human height - the protection itself may crack, but the main thing is that the smartphone will not be damaged. Special tests were carried out that showed that the protective glass would not withstand anything other than a direct blow with a hammer, but a collision with such force is very unlikely in real life. Replacing the entire display (and most often it is this that is replaced, since it is usually impossible to separate the glass and the sensor itself) will cost almost half the cost of the phone, while the protective glass is several times cheaper, and you can replace it yourself without overpaying specialists. Therefore, to avoid disappointment, use this type of protection, which will save your smartphone and your nerves.

Have you purchased a phone and want to protect the display? In this article you will find many tips to help you with this.

Any electronic device that has a wide enough screen must be protected from external factors. Gluing protective glass to a smartphone is especially important, since over time, the screen without it will be rubbed in places due to constant contact with the inside of the pocket. In addition, if you carry your phone in a bag or clutch, then the screen may get scratched from contact with other objects located there, so in terms of gluing the glass to the phone, the task also remains a priority. However, what can you also glue protection to to avoid mechanical damage? For example, on a tablet, for the same reasons as described above.

How to glue a protective glass on an iPhone

In the case of Apple products, the algorithm for gluing protective glass is usually the same. Regardless of the model, whether you have an iPhone 5, 5s or later models such as 6, 6s and even iPhone 7 and SE, the sequence of actions is the same:

  1. First of all, you need to remove the case from the iPhone SE and carefully remove the old film/glass by the edge.
  2. You should have a pre-prepared, spacious, flat place with good lighting.
  3. Then, using a cloth that is used to clean the monitor, or a cotton pad soaked in any liquid with alcohol, wipe the screen clean. Under good lighting, you will clearly see how much this procedure has cleaned the surface, then wipe it dry with a cloth. This, of course, needs to be done with clean hands.
  4. Remove the film from the adhesive side of the glass and adjust it to the size of the screen. In this case, you must strictly hold it by the edges to avoid the appearance of fingerprint marks.
  5. Then you need to lower the glass and it will stick on its own.

How to glue protective glass on a Xiaomi smartphone

As you know, the mobile device market is now full of high-quality smartphones made in China. And if you bought yourself, for example, a model "Redmi 4 x", then you need to protect the display from various external factors that can damage it, so that your phone serves you faithfully throughout its potential shelf life. When gluing protective glass onto a Xiaomi smartphone, it is important to be careful; you need to do this on a flat surface and be sure to keep your hands clean.

How to glue protective glass on H onor 6c

On X Honor 6 SI and X Honor 9, the flagships of Huawei, which produces mobile devices, gluing the protective glass is done in the same way as on other models from this company. You shouldn’t be afraid to glue glass, because in such an algorithm the main thing is to be dexterous and do everything quickly and correctly, always under good lighting, which will make it possible to pay attention to all the shortcomings in gluing, such as dust particles that you could potentially miss at the stage cleaning the display before actual gluing.

How to glue protective glass on Meiza

Having purchased a smartphone model from Meizu, for example, Meizu M5, you need to protect your new purchase with protective glass. And it is not surprising, because the potential factors that lead to damage are, as a rule, extremely unpredictable, and protection in the form of such glass can neutralize most of them. It is necessary to glue glass carefully, strictly adhering to the algorithm, which in most cases is the same. It is important that the surface area of the glass when gluing is identical to the surface of the display, so that the edges do not extend beyond these boundaries. Having achieved this, the work of gluing glass can be considered complete.

How to glue protective glass on a ZTE phone

ZTE smartphones today occupy good positions relative to other models in the sales lists. Like other smartphones on the Android platform, they are exactly the same They also need display protection. And when gluing the protection to the screen, you must follow the rules described above in the same way. In addition, when gluing similar glass on Lenovo, the algorithm remains the same - you should be careful and pay attention to maximum sterility when working with glass. In addition, even if a protected smartphone is accidentally dropped on the asphalt, the glass, which is easily replaceable, will suffer, but not the display, the replacement of which will cost much more.

How to glue protective glass on a Samsung phone

The displays of Samsung smartphones, for example, on models such as the J3 and A5, are also susceptible to mechanical damage, like any other. The algorithm is approximately the same as for other phones. You should be very careful when gluing so that no air bubbles get under the surface of the glass. They can, of course, be removed, but if you can glue the protective glass correctly the first time, you will definitely make your job easier. It is also important during the process to ensure that insidious particles of dirt and dust do not get onto the display at the time of gluing, however, if you did everything correctly, then such problems should not arise.

How to re-glue a screen protector on your phone

Has it ever happened to you that after gluing the glass, some of its edges still did not meet closely with the display? You can, of course, ignore this, but after a while these unadhered edges will play their role, and the glass will most likely fall off. That is why the question arises: is it possible to re-glue old glass? Of course, you don’t want to buy new glass because of your own mistake, so it’s easier to glue the existing one back on. In this work, first of all, accuracy is needed. After peeling off the glass, you need to hold it by the edges. The most difficult thing that can arise in this case is gluing the glass in place a second time. However, if you successfully managed to unstick it, then there shouldn’t be any problems.

How to glue the edges of the protective glass on your phone

If the protective glass does not fit at the edges, do not rush to despair, because there is still a way out. If a corner or several corners did not stick during installation and now there are huge white spots of air there, you need to carefully add a few drops of glycerin to the edge of the glass. It will fill all the air voids under the glass, and it will fit perfectly into place. In this way, the occurrence of such a problem is worth solving. In addition, during the process you can also clean the display of any debris that might have gotten under the glass during the process.

How to glue the protective glass on your phone if it comes off

If, after gluing the protection to the display, the glass suddenly comes off for no reason, then this problem needs to be solved. If you peel off the glass and glue it back, nothing bad will happen. The main thing, before gluing it a second time, is to make sure that there is no dirt or dust on the display, and it’s even better to wipe it again with a cotton pad and alcohol. This will protect the display from the reappearance of such unpleasant things on it and will save you from having to re-glue the glass. Therefore, it is still better to re-clean it in advance before gluing the peeled glass.

What to do if the protective glass is poorly glued

If you, having decided not to bother yourself, when buying a phone from the store employees, at the same time ordered the service of gluing the glass, and already at home, having re-printed the phone, you suddenly found out that it was glued to the display crookedly, then do not rush to get upset. In this case, you can re-glue it yourself the way it should be on the display. VIDEO DESCRIPTION

How much does protective glass for phones cost?

Today, hundreds of companies around the world are engaged in the production of protective glass.

The most budget-friendly options, of course, are offered by Chinese companies, whose products can be easily ordered through Aliexpress.

However, the basis of the products of any manufacturer is tempered glass; only the degree of its hardening differs.

The price can vary significantly depending on quality indicators, as well as the reputation of the manufacturer.

As for simpler options, for example, those made in China, the average cost for them starts from 900 rubles. This is almost twice as high compared to films. Many people ask the question: is it worth overpaying?

Maybe stick with film?

The film copes with the task of protecting against scratches, but if dropped, it cannot always protect the screen from cracks. It is more difficult to glue, air bubbles often remain, and dirt quickly gets clogged inside. Glass is more convenient in this regard, it will last longer and provide more reliable protection to the screen. However, you really have to pay extra for these amenities.

If you don’t glue the glass yourself, you will have to additionally pay for the services of a specialist who will take on this task, and that’s another few hundred rubles. Such specialists work in any phone repair service centers, as well as in stores selling smartphones.

Thus, the cost of purchasing and installing glass on a smartphone will be at least 1,500 rubles, but this is really profitable, because replacing a broken screen will cost an average of 3,000 rubles, especially when it comes to Apple products.

After purchasing a new smartphone, the user strives to maximally secure and protect the device from damage. In this case, additional accessories and protective elements come to the rescue. Previously, protective films were at the peak of popularity, allowing you to protect the screen from minor mechanical damage. Today the question is increasingly being asked,how to stick protective glass on your phone,because today it is the one that is leading the way in ensuring display integrity.

Uninitiated users do not see much difference between the usual film and protective glass. It is just as flexible and elastic. But still, it is glass, and it is additionally tempered and especially durable, capable of protecting the screen from most possible damage. The accessory is great for people who often drop their smartphones or are afraid of scratching the screen. The coating perfectly strengthens the screen and allows you to maintain the integrity of the display, even if the gadget falls face down. If, nevertheless, the blow turns out to be very strong, the protective glass will not allow fragments to fly away, which can be very dangerous.

Due to more significant characteristics, the cost of such an accessory is much higher than, for example, films. At the same time, the glass cannot be cut to fit the gadget, so you have to buy ready-made products adapted for a specific model. The question ishow to stick protective glass on your phone, users are interested in due to the fact that it costs extra money in the salon, but you can handle the process yourself.

The thickness of the coating ranges from 0.18-0.33 mm. It can add weight to the device and make it somewhat bulkier, so you need to be prepared for this.

Protective glass consists of several layers:

  • silicone backing, necessary for the strongest possible fixation of the accessory on the screen;
  • the next layer, the restraining layer, fixes glass fragments and prevents them from scattering in the event of a serious impact;
  • a protective layer responsible for the strength of the glass itself;
  • anti-reflective layer - ensures comfortable use of the gadget even in sunny weather;
  • oleophobic layer - a coating that prevents fingerprints from being left on the display.

Glass does not affect the sensitivity of the sensor, does not spoil the image, that is, it allows you to use the gadget with no less comfort. Thanks to all the advantages of such protection, it has become in demand and fully meets consumer expectations.

How to stick a protective glass on your phone

How already mentioned above,stick protective glass on your smartphoneyou can do it yourself. To do this, just follow some recommendations.

Materials and tools

Despite the fact that the process is accessible, you should prepare the necessary tools in advance so as not to be distracted. In order to stick the protection on the screen yourself you will need:

  • alcohol wipe, you can buy them at the pharmacy;
  • dry soft cloth;
  • liquid for cleaning displays and TV screens, you can buy it or mix it yourself, for this you will need water, alcohol and dishwashing detergent;
  • dust collector or tape (to attract dust particles);
  • the protective glass itself.

In addition, a plastic one may come in handy if there is no special spatula included with the protection.

Preparation of the workplace

In addition to preparing the tool, it is also necessary to prepare the workplace. It is important that it is not dusty. It is best to carry out the procedure in the kitchen or bathroom. The less fabric material around, the less dust, which will certainly settle on the screen much faster than you expect.

The table on which work will be performed must be thoroughly wiped with napkins. Before starting the process, you also need to wash your hands with soap to get rid of accumulated fat. Once everything is ready, you can proceed directly to the process.

Pasting algorithm

How to stick protective glass on a phoneNot everyone hires, but if you follow the recommendations that we will describe below, difficulties should not arise.

So, all the equipment has been collected, the work place and the master’s hands are prepared, let’s move on to the main stage.

  1. Prepare your gadget's display. Remove the old coating by carefully picking up the edge and pulling. Regardless of whether the film on the device is factory-made or purchased, it peels off very easily.
  2. Clean the sensor surface with an alcohol wipe or cloth with screen cleaner. It is important to carefully treat the entire surface so as not to leave any contamination. The display needs to be rubbed to maximum shine.
  3. If dust particles remain on the surface, then it’s time to use a dust collector or tape. The whole process is aimed at attracting dust particles with static electricity (and under no circumstances sticking tape to the screen).
  4. We take the screen out of the packaging and remove all protective films from it. We combine all the elements of the screen with the holes on the glass (central button and speaker). Make sure that the protection aligns evenly with the edges of the device and lies flat. At the same time, you need to hold the glass by the edges so as not to scratch it. If you doubt that you can handle it, it is better to wear medical gloves.
  5. Secure the protection by running your fingers from top to bottom along the center of the display. Then, using a spatula or credit card, remove the remaining air using characteristic movements from the center to the edge. If small droplets of air remain, this is not a problem. He will come out on his own in a few days. Therefore, do not put excessive pressure on the display.

If all measures are followed and recommendations are followed, the user will receive a perfectly smooth coating without streaks or clouding. If the latter appear, it means that the screen was poorly cleaned. To get rid of the jambs, you can peel off the glass and repeat the process.

This question follows on from the previous problem. Is it possible to remove the glass and clean the screen or re-stick the protection from one gadget to another. If the protection surface is not worn out, then this approach is quite appropriate.

In this case, additional processing of the adhesive silicone layer is required. Formic alcohol is used for processing. You need to carefully remove the glass and wipe the adhesive side with a cloth moistened with plenty of liquid. Wait until the liquid drains and dries and you can install the glass again.
