A couple of days before the end of the protection period, open a dispute with the seller.

In a personal message to the seller, write that the order was confirmed accidentally and you apologize for this. Also ask him not to put forward any counteroffers and, if possible, agree with the dispute and return the money. In exchange, you should promise that there will be a payment for the purchase, but only after receiving the goods.

This situation will be a little unfair, since the seller is not to blame for it. Then everything depends on how trusting he is and agrees to these conditions.

If everything goes well and the money is returned, then the seller should be thanked for their trust. Ask how you can send money back after receiving your purchase. Don't neglect this. The seller should not be held responsible for the buyer's accidental actions. The rule that the customer is always right should not go beyond this.

Third, we are stalling for time.

It's rare that a salesperson actually believes and agrees to all requests. All that remains is to answer the dispute as slowly as possible.

From the moment it opens, the seller has 5 days to respond. Most often this happens faster, and within 2-3 days he already reacts. Naturally, the amount required for compensation is reset to zero. And the store asks to close the dispute.

Further, when the amount has already been reset to zero, you have time to respond to the seller: 10 days. In other words, the validity period of the order is extended. Again we write down the amount of compensation and argue when the meter shows that there are only 2-3 hours left.

Thus, the seller again has 5 days to respond.

Surely he will again refuse the amount for compensation. Again, there are 10 additional days for your response. Then we repeat the steps again when the deadline is already over.

After this, the seller has 5 days to respond. Then you can again get a waiting time that is equal to the previous one. After this time, the dispute is edited for the third and final time. Then things get worse if the seller still doesn’t agree to the persuasion.

The final decision remains with the site administration. There are two possible scenarios. In the first case, the site will oblige the seller to return the entire requested amount, if it deems it necessary. In another option, another waiting period will be set until the final closure of the order. Further instructions will be provided by the administration on an individual basis.

Let's sum it up

As a result, some additional period is added to the order protection time:

  • 14 days of protection after an already confirmed order, since it is better to open a dispute at 15;
  • 4 more days until the seller responds;
  • an additional 9 days that will pass before the dispute is edited for the first time, it is better to do this 10 days after the response;
  • plus 4 days until another response from the seller;
  • 9 days are added again for your re-editing;
  • then another 4 days until the seller reacts;
  • and the final 9 days before the dispute escalates.

This adds up to a 53-day open order period. A month or two is usually enough to receive the goods. After delivery, the dispute can be closed. If nothing is received, ask to extend the waiting time as much as possible. It is 90 days. At the end of this time, you can already demand compensation for the cost with full rights.

The AliExpress administration may extend the period by another 15-20 days, but the dispute will be asked to be closed. It is worth sending her a message if the order is not delivered by the end of the deadline.

In practice, it is rarely possible to win the maximum period of protection. Very often it is limited to 30-40 days. But parcels usually don’t arrive for more than a month.

After you receive the order, you need to close the dispute and thank the seller for your understanding, even if he edits the dispute in the first hours after it was opened.

Alternative option

Contact AliExpress support. The most convenient way is online chat. You will immediately receive an answer and the issue can be resolved. This must be done very quickly, before the order becomes perfect. Do not forget that a decent seller will send his order in any case.

Confirmation of order receipt

In order to confirm receipt of the goods, you must log in to the website and enter “My Orders”.

The page for the corresponding order will open in front of you. We tick the items that we ordered and click “Confirm receipt of goods” again.

Please check again: Are you sure you want to confirm receipt of the item? After clicking “Submit”, order protection will end and the order will be considered completed. If you have no complaints about the received product, feel free to confirm the action.


After confirmation of receipt of the goods, the money is transferred to the seller and the transaction is completed. The opportunity to open a dispute will no longer be available.

  1. Reviews about the product and its seller can only be left within 30 days from the date of completion of the transaction;
  2. If you opened a dispute regarding an order and turned it into a claim, you will not have the opportunity to leave feedback;
  3. If you opened a dispute demanding a full refund and the seller satisfied your request, you will also not have the opportunity to leave feedback;
  4. If one of the participants in the transaction left a review with a rating of 4 or 5, and the second participant did not leave any review, then the party that did not receive the review will automatically receive it with a rating of 4;
  5. If one of the participants in the transaction left a review with ratings of 1, 2 or 3, and the second participant did not leave any feedback, then the party that did not receive feedback will remain without a review by default;
  6. Within 30 days, the buyer can change the previously left review;
  7. The buyer can respond to feedback left by the seller.

The buyer will have the opportunity to leave a review and evaluate the product and the seller in more detail immediately after he confirms receipt of the goods.

If you decide to do this later, go to the “My Orders” section, go to the “Operations” tab and select “Manage Reviews” in the left menu. In the “Waiting for my reviews” tab, you can find the order for which you want to leave a review. Next to this order, click “Leave review”. In this window, you can rate the deal and also give a star rating for the following items:

  • How accurate was the product description;

Both the buyer and the seller can change a review previously left. You can change a previously left review within 30 days from the date of leaving the original review and only if its rating is less than 3 stars. If you entered a rating higher than 3, the “Review Review” button will not be available.
