We all know that by default VKontakte has a white background and over these 10 years (roughly speaking) it has not changed. but it’s like with pictures for your desktop. Sometimes you want some variety. So today I will show you how to change the VKontakte background without any problems. One very wonderful extension will help us with this. So, let's go!

But that is not all. First, let's look at the capabilities of this add-on. By clicking on it with the left mouse button, the settings will open. In principle, there is nothing particularly important here, but there is one interesting point - “Transparency”. Try setting it halfway, then save the result and see how your page will look now. Change picture

All this is great, of course, but one question arises. Is this the only picture that can be placed in the background? This is the default image, but we have the right to change it to absolutely any image we find on the Internet.

To do this, you can go, for example, to Yandex or Google, and enter a query there for the desired picture, for example, “Wallpaper for your desktop.” It is best to search for pictures that match the resolution of your monitor, so you can add it to the search bar.

After that, go to the picture and select one of them. Done? Well done. Now just right-click on the picture and select “Save as VKontakte background.”

There is no need to do anything else. The image will immediately be placed on the background with all transparency preserved. This way you can make this social network more vibrant and the design new and fresh.

Of course there are other ways to set a new topic. For example, you can go to the website vktema.ru and download a program for installing themes. But I am somehow wary of such external programs related to social networks. Installing the add-on is much safer. So if you want to use this method, use it at your own risk.

Unfortunately, the VKontakte social network does not provide the ability to change the background of the site by default, however, this small limitation can be easily circumvented by installing special tools. Typically, there are two types of such tools: software installed on your computer and a browser extension.

Below we will consider a way to change the VKontakte background using a browser extension, since this method has more advantages over the program:

1. Allows you to change the theme for one or more browsers. For example, you use Google Chrome and Yandex Browser on your computer, and you want the theme to be changed only for the first browser;

2. Doesn't litter your computer. Any program installed on a computer creates files, folders and registry entries on the system, which may remain on the computer even after the program is uninstalled. With a browser extension, everything is simpler: you just need to remove it from the browser so that not a trace remains of it.

In our task we will be helped by the VKmod browser extension, which is currently supported by such popular web browsers as Google Chrome, Opera, Yandex.Browser and many other browsers based on the Chromium engine.

As soon as the extension is installed in the browser, its icon will appear in the upper right corner. We return to the VKmod website page. A wide selection of design themes will also be presented here. To apply the theme you like, click the button "Set Theme" .

You will be automatically redirected to the VKontakte page, where new changes will be immediately visible.

If you want to disable the display of the background without removing the add-on, click on the VKmod icon in the upper right corner of the browser and in the window that appears, move the toggle switch to the inactive position, thus disabling the extension.

Almost every user who has a personal VKontakte page has at least once tried to change the background. But this is not entirely easy to implement. All browsers have an individual way of making changes.

New theme via Google Chrome

The background is changed in this browser using a unique program. The utility was developed specifically for such purposes. You need to go to the special Chrome online store. It has a field called “Search by Store.” In the query line, enter “VKontakte registration”, then press Enter.

A window will appear on the screen with all sorts of options for applications and extensions for Google Chrome. Among them you can choose the necessary themes and wallpapers. After this, we install the background in this way: click “Free”, and then confirm the changes made by clicking “Add”. After this, the new extension will be installed.

It will indicate the feature is "Enabled". After this, you will have to find the picture on the Internet and open it. As soon as you click on it with the mouse, the following text “Install as” immediately appears. This applies to new wallpapers for the VK page. We select this function, and then check the profile on the VKontakte social network.

Change via Opera

You can also change the background on VKontakte through the Opera browser. The method is completely different from the one used for Google Chrome. To implement it, the user needs to try very hard. First, open the browser. On the start page we find the settings in which you need to find the “Advanced” item.

It has a folder called "Contents". Click on “Style Options” and then “Presentation Modes”. As soon as the line with styles appears, immediately put a checkmark next to it. This will allow you to set the background of selected Internet pages.

To create your own, unique theme, you need to follow a slightly different plan of action. You will have to create a new folder and give it a clear name so that in the future it does not get lost among all the others. Further actions involve creating a notepad, to which you need to assign a CSS extension.

After this, select the picture that you would like to see as the background on your VKontakte page. Once the choice is made, you can save the image in the selected folder. Next, enter your username and password to enter the VK page. Click directly on the background with the mouse. A list of tasks will appear on the screen, in which we select settings for styles. Then open the tab called “View”, and then click on “Style Sheet”.

Using Explorer, we go to the notepad for help and save the settings. After updating the social network page, the theme will be changed.

New background via Internet Explorer

If the user works with this particular browser, then the procedure for changing the background on the VK page is performed according to the following scenario:
1. Go to the site with the topics you like.
2. We choose the highest quality and most beautiful of all the images.
3. Download the picture you like. It will be transferred to the “Downloads” folder in an archived state.

4. Let's unpack the downloaded file.
5. Enter Internet Explorer and find the browser menu. In the menu list that opens, click on the “Service” function and select properties.
6. Go to the “General” tab. Go from there to the “Design” folder. Place a checkmark next to the folder.

7. Go to the browse function and select a file whose extension is CSS. Once all changes have been made, click “Ok”. This will be evidence that everything was done correctly.
8. After restarting the computer, go to your VKontakte profile and check if everything was done correctly.
