In frame 3 “Integration with the Windows shell” there are three points.

1. “Embed WinRAR into the shell (in Explorer)” means that when you open Explorer (My Computer) and select an object (file or folder) and call the context menu. By clicking on “File” or right-clicking on any object, you will see WinRAR command items there.

2. “Use nested context menus” means that when you call the context menu in one of the 2 ways described in paragraph 1, you will see WinRAR command items in a specially designated nested context menu.

3. “Show icons in the context menu” means that when you call the context menu, you will see icons in the form of books.

4. “Select context menu elements...” After clicking this button, a window will open in which you can select context menu elements, i.e. select items that are visible in the context menu.

After everything is set up, click “OK”, “OK”, “Done”.

When you go to the site, find a section called Localized WinRAR versions, inside you will see a Russian link. You need it to download and install the Russian version of the program.

Click on the highlighted line. Now you need to know where you want to place the downloaded file. By silence, this is drive C. The inscription indicating this is in the line at the top and looks like this: C:\Program Files\WinRAR. We advise you not to reinvent the wheel and leave this default location. If for some reason you decide to reinvent the wheel and want to place the program in another location, click on the arrow on the side and select the desired folder or section from the drop-down menu.

How does Winrar work?

To compress a file, you need to do the following: select the file, right-click and in the menu that appears, select Add to archive as (file name). You will see the created archive next to your file. You can add folders and several files to the archive at once. Why waste time on trifles?

The folder is archived in the same way as a file. In order to archive several files at once, you first need to select them. To do this, click on the desired files while holding down the left mouse button and the Ctrl button.

And if the files are located in a group, then you can select them with one click of the mouse. To do this, place the cursor, for example, in the upper right corner of the group of files, press the left key and, while holding it, move the cursor to the lower left corner (diagonally). You will see that the files are surrounded by a frame. All files inside the frame will be highlighted in blue. This means they are marked.

Move the cursor to one of the selected files, also right-click and select the Add to archive as menu (the name of the folder in which the files are located will be indicated here).

Now let's extract the files back. Right-click on the archive, select Extract to (file name). You can extract to the current folder, or you can to a separate one: to do this, select the Extract to folder line (the name of the zipped file will be indicated here).
