Protect your computer and browsers from infection

Adware like Zango is very common and, unfortunately, most antivirus programs do a poor job of detecting such threats. To protect yourself from these threats, we recommend using it, it has active computer protection modules and browser settings. It does not conflict with installed antiviruses and provides an additional layer of protection against threats like Zango.

Hello everyone) Today I will tell you about what kind of Zeta Games program this is and whether you need it. Zeta Games appears on computers at will. So you installed some necessary program for yourself, and then you see a shortcut and Zeta Games on your desktop, although you did not install this program.

In this way, new programs and sites are promoted to the masses, but all this looks like some kind of virus fraud, so it is not surprising that such software is often identified by antiviruses as potentially dangerous.

Zeta Games itself is positioned as access to some kind of super platform where you can find any games and play them)

You can also find players through this program to make playing more fun and interesting! In general, as you yourself understand, if you did not install Zeta Games, then I think you hardly need it and therefore you can remove it.

Personally, in addition to the Zeta Games shortcut, others appeared on my desktop, these are Star Conflict, Armored Warfare Armata Project, REACHit:

It really seems to me that the appearance of REACHit is not connected with Zeta Games)

After I launched Zeta Games, I saw this window, it’s kind of like a browser:

There is also an icon in the tray and by the way, before deleting it is better to exit the program:

The program also appeared in the Start menu:

After I exited the program using the tray menu, I opened the task manager and saw the zeta.exe process there:

In principle, it can be completed. I completed it and it worked for me, it’s just that, as usual, if you don’t turn off the process, it then appears again. But in the case of zeta.exe, it no longer appeared and this is good, since nothing will interfere with us when deleting it.

The program itself was installed in this folder:

C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\ZetaGamesViewer

There is also a file called Uninstall.exe, this is a special component of the program to remove it. That is, you can run it and remove Zeta Games. But I will show you how to do this through the Programs and Features window.

I’ll also say that if you hold down Win + R and write the msconfig command there, then OK, then on the Startup tab you can uncheck Zeta Games. Then it will not start along with Windows, this is in case the program bothers you, but you don’t want to remove it:

There’s not just one tick here, but two.

But then I remembered something. In general, I indicated to you above in which folder the program is installed. But now I’m thinking, why didn’t I see the zeta.exe file there, so I didn’t rack my brains, but rebooted. Then in the manager I right-clicked on zeta.exe, selected open storage location in the menu, and the folder opened. Well, I thought that it’s not that simple. The Zeta Games program has two folders, and the zeta.exe process is launched from this folder:

C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\ZetaGamesNews

And here, too, there is Uninstall.exe, which you can run to remove it.

It turns out that the program has two modules, ZetaGamesViewer and ZetaGamesNews.

Uninstalling a program from Zeta Games

Now let's move directly to removing ZetaGamesViewer and ZetaGamesNews. I’ll say right away that I personally would do this using the so-called uninstaller, it will help you not only remove programs, but also clean the system of debris that these programs can leave behind)

Well, now we’ll find out how to remove it using the built-in capabilities of Windows. Open the Start menu and select Control Panel there (if you have Windows 10, you can press Win + X and select this item there):

And then we find and launch the Programs and Features icon:

Well, there in the list of software we look where the Zeta Games software is, and for each of them we right-click and select Delete. First I will remove ZetaGames:

Click Delete:

Then it will all start to be deleted:

During the uninstallation, I clicked on Details and saw a strange glitch; in short, the uninstaller constantly tried to terminate some process, but it failed. This lasted about ten seconds and then everything went away normally:

Now you need to delete another program, this is ZetaGames NEWS, also right-click on it and select Delete:

Then in the window click Delete:

And that’s it, it will be written ready, which means everything worked out:

Well, we did the most important thing! This was removed by both Zeta Games programs)

C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local

This is what I have left:

These are already residual files, there is some garbage left there, the program itself has already been deleted.

Then I checked the Program Files (x86) and just Program Files folders, just in case, and I didn’t find any traces of Zeta Games there, so everything seems to be clean.

All that's left is the registry, well, you can clean it manually.

How to manually clean the registry from Zeta Games?

After uninstalling Zeta Games, you can additionally clean the registry manually; junk keys may easily remain in it. They don’t particularly load the system, but it’s better not to have them)

Press Win + R, type the command regedit and click OK:

The registry editor will open, in it we hold down Ctrl + F and write zetagames and click the Find next button:

If any keys are found, they will be highlighted. Here you need to right-click on them and select Delete. Then, to continue the search, press F3, and so on until a message appears that the search is complete. Personally, I even found an entire ZetaGames folder:

There is almost nothing in it, but that’s what I have, and you may have something, the Zeta Games versions may be different.

I also checked the browsers and did not find any virus extensions there.

I hope that you found out what Zeta Games is, and now you can conclude how much you need it. And you know, it’s very good that this Zeta Games can be easily removed, that is, that there are no jokes. With some programs you still need to suffer in order to properly remove them along with their giblets).

But I think that it would be useful for you to check your computer for such utilities, maybe they will find something, but if you have time, then listen to me and check:

  • — the fire utility can check all the places where the virus may be sitting; specialist in the destruction of advertising viruses; checks the contents of browser folders, looks for virus extensions, and even scans the list of services in Windows;
  • — also the utility is simply super, it has slightly different operating mechanisms in contrast to AdwCleaner, but it is also cool; sniffs out advertising viruses in browsers, in their settings, checks shortcuts; knows how to remove a Trojan inside a program;
  • — a scanner familiar to many, which has long won the trust of users; a specialist in removing any viruses, both advertising and more dangerous ones; removes spyware and adware; downloaded already with anti-virus databases and with a random name;
  • Well guys, it seems like I wrote everything and even provided utilities for checking the computer. I’ll also say that if you have time, check your computer with them, it will only be a plus. I wish you good luck in everything)

Game publishers are striving to enter the market with their own software, which is a kind of analogue of Steam. This statement applies to both large publishing houses and smaller ones. Not long ago, a new player appeared on the market - GameNet with its own application of the same name. However, installing it not only allows you to run various games, but also harms your computer. After installing and launching GameNet, the Thorn process starts running on the computer, which must be removed as quickly as possible, and below we will tell you how to do this and why this action should not be delayed.

Why you should uninstall GameNet to protect your data on your computer

The GameNet application is positioned as a client for launching a dozen games, which, for the most part, represent online projects. The most famous game in the program's library is Black Desert, but if you are concerned about protecting your computer data and its performance, installing the GameNet application is not recommended.

Immediately after installing GameNet, attentive users may notice that the Thorn.exe process will be running on their computer in the background. It is notable for the fact that in operation it takes up more than 25% of the total CPU performance, while not having any graphical interface. If you start to look into it, you will find out that the Thorn process is a child of the GameNet application, and its task is to collect user data.

By accepting the terms of the agreement when installing GameNet, users authorize the program to install the Thorn process on the computer. It not only slows down the speed of the computer, but also constantly sends user data about any actions to the Syncopate servers. In a similar way, all user data can be transferred from a computer to server administrators, from logins and passwords from various sites to information about credit cards used to pay for purchases on the Internet. It is believed that the Thorn process is also a miner of Bitcoin currency, which is why there is a serious load on the processor of the end user of the GameNet application.

As you can see, there are more than enough reasons to remove GameNet Thorn, and the sooner this is done, the fewer problems the computer user will have.

Thorn: How to remove GameNet application process

The malicious process Thoen.exe is not as easy to remove as it might seem at first glance. Even though it is associated with the GameNet program, when it is deleted, the process remains in the computer's memory and it continues to send user data in the background, consuming CPU performance in the process.

To remove GameNet Thorn completely from your computer, you must do the following:

  1. Run ;
  2. Next, in the window that opens, you need to specify the sequence of command execution. To do this, enter the following in the window that opens:
cd %LOCALAPPDATA%\THORN && thorn.exe -c 20 && thorn.exe –u

After the command has been entered, we start its execution by pressing the Enter key.

  1. The command line will perform the necessary actions, after which you need to enter the following command:
sc delete THORN

When the command is entered, execute it with the Enter button.

Attention: If you have the Windows 10 operating system installed, you can simply delete the Thorn folder to the Trash and then empty it.

When all steps are completed, restart your computer. Please note that removing the Thorn process must be done in conjunction with uninstalling the GameNet application. If you go back to launch the Black Desert game or other projects from the GameNet library, the client will automatically download the THORN process.
