Installing a widget for Samsung smart TV. Installing applications and widgets on a Samsung Smart TV. Standard widget installation

This method of installing third-party widgets on the K series is quite long, but in reality it’s not complicated. The example is based on a J-series TVUnfortunately, on them the widgets are deleted when the TV is restarted, it may not be deleted for you, be sure to write if they remain, but on the K-series the widgets remain forever.

Installing and configuring Tizen SDK

First, download and install everything you need on your computer. First of all, download and install Java, after that we download Tizen SDK with IDE installer . Be sure to download the ones that match yours Windows, 32 bit - X86 or 64 bit - X64.

Run the downloaded installer Tizen SDK, agree to the license, change the installation path if necessary and click on the download icon.

After installation is complete, run Update Manager.

Go to the tab All Packages, activate Advanced and install all partition packages Tizen SDK Tools and Extras.

While being installed Tizen SDK go to the site Samsung And register.

After registration we will find out IP computer address. Go to the Network and Sharing Center - Local area network connection (or wi-fi) - Information - Your address will be in the IPv4 line.

Let's move on to the TV. Let's go to Smart Hub, then go to the Applications section and press the numbers on the remote control in order 1-2-3-4-5 . In the window that appears, select ON and press Enter, enter into the empty field Computer IP address and then click on OK.

After this, the TV will ask to restart. For a more accurate result, turn it off using the remote control and unplug the plug from the socket for 30 seconds.

We turn it on and go to again Applications, the inscription should appear Developer Mode.

On the TV, log into your previously created account on the Samsung website. Click on the plus icon and enter your data.

Now we find out the IP address of the TV Menu - Network - Network Status, select IP Settings and we see the address.

We return to the computer and wait until the installation is completed Tizen SDK and launch Tizen IDE, it is located in the folder in which you installed the SDK, tizensdk/ide/IDE.exe.

After downloading it, click on the icon TV connection, press New, enter an arbitrary Name, IP TV which we learned earlier and click Add. Select the TV and press the button Connect, the TV will appear in the list.

Creation of author and distributor certificates

Click on the icon Certificate, select TV, press New and enter a custom name.

After creating a profile, click on the button Replace against Step 3.

Enter arbitrary Name And Password, press the button Request. A window will appear with information that the certificate was successfully created and the path to its file. Just in case, write down and save this data, copy the certificate file to a flash drive or somewhere convenient so as not to lose it, since most likely a certificate for one TV can only be created once.

Next, we create a distributor certificate. Click on the button Replace against Step 4. Enter Password, you can enter the same as previously, press the button Added in the right list opposite your TV, it will appear automatically if you have successfully connected the TV to the SDK before, its name will be copied to the left list on the left and press the button Request. A window will appear with information that the certificate was successfully created and the path to its file, save it as the previous one.

Creating a project in Tizen SDK and installing applications on the TV

If everything worked out, move on to the next step. Select in SDK File - New - Tizen Web Project.

Choose Basic Project among the templates for TV.

Download and unpack the widget for Tizen TV GetsTV. Open the folder with the widget files and drag it into the project, agree with everything.

Right-click on the TV and select Permit to install applications.

The project will be packaged and the widget will automatically launch on the TV and appear in the list of applications. On the J series, when restarted, they are automatically deleted under the pretext of old age, I think this can be somehow circumvented or disabled in the service settings, we will dig further. On K series should not be deleted. Later I will add other applications including GetsTV, work in this direction is underway.

SMART TV can be compared to a personal computer or tablet. It is closer to the second in functionality. This TV runs on a full-fledged operating system. You can install third-party applications on it that add new features to the TV. For example, support for online television from a specific provider, a media player that works with a large number of formats, games of various genres, weather informers, exchange rates, etc.

To ensure that the new application is safe for users and for the TV itself, special services - application stores - act as suppliers of software modules. The owners of such sites are responsible for software quality control and allow for publication only those applications that are compatible with the operating system installed on TVs or set-top boxes, and also do not have viruses or software bookmarks.

Types of Applications

When choosing a program, you need to know that they are all divided into three categories:

  • recommended (those that are beneficial to the manufacturer and, accordingly, are installed by default);
  • social (the applications most in demand by society at the moment are also built-in for sale);
  • custom (the same programs for individual needs, selected and installed independently).

Almost all applications have a geographic marker. That is, in Russia some programs are available, but in European countries this list looks different.

And thirdly (and this is the most important thing), all widgets are:

  • Paid (payment required to start downloading);
  • Free (downloading is possible without money);
  • Shareware (download and installation are free, but you need to buy content).

How to find and install a widget on smart TV

  1. Turn on the TV and go to the main menu using the remote control.
  2. Go to the “Network” section and check if the TV is connected to the Internet.
  3. Next, you need to create an account if you don’t already have one. In some devices it is the same for all programs with applications and is called Smart Hub. On other TVs, just look for the Play Market and feel free to go there.

By the way, some manufacturers, in addition to the Play Market, have their own widget stores. So, for example, in Samsung you can find Samsung Apps in the menu, in LG – Game World, and in Sony – Fork Player.

As a login, you must enter your email address, come up with a strong password and click the “Agree with the terms of use” checkbox. After creation, go directly to your account.

  1. If you know the name of the application you are interested in, enter it into the search bar. If you go to the store without a specific purpose, click on the widget that interests you, and a window will open with detailed information about it. If you are satisfied with the program, click the “Upload” or “Download” button.
  2. The download process begins automatically, the downloaded program installs itself, after which a message indicating that the installation is complete is displayed on the screen.
  3. ALL! Let's go into the program and start using it.

Widgets open up a truly limitless world of possibilities for smart TV owners. Each category, based on the purpose of the program, hides thousands of applications for the most demanding tastes. The main menu offers:

  • Online cinemas for watching TV series and films
  • Audio players to listen to your favorite artists and new music
  • Thematic online channels for watching broadcasts of sporting events, fashion shows, educational video programs, etc.
  • Games of all genres and age groups
  • Information apps to keep track of the weather, exchange rates, etc.
  • And many many others…

Sometimes the description of the application may be in English - in this case, you can navigate by screenshots and the number of downloads, as well as the rating formed based on user reviews and ratings.

Before downloading and installing an application, always check the availability of free space in your device memory. If there is not enough free space, you can always delete unused widgets and free up the necessary megabytes. Simply find the “Installed applications” section in the Play Market menu, select the desired program and click the “Delete” button.

Hi all! Today there will be a short post. And we'll talk about installing widgets from a flash drive on our favorite Samsung smart TVs. This is a very simple method and takes no more than a minute.

In fact, a USB drive, despite its simplicity, has one big advantage. With this method, previously installed user applications are not deleted. And this is very convenient.

After that, upload the archives of the widgets you want to install to the flash drive. I draw your attention once again to the fact that it is the archives that need to be dumped. That is, you don’t need to do anything at all with the downloaded files, which is nice:

Now go to the TV, turn it on and insert your flash drive into the USB connector on the back wall:

Pay attention to the markings of the USB sockets:

Keep this in mind. Since if a flash drive or a USB-HDD type disk is connected to a USB connector (5V 0.5A), then they will not be detected in the system.

At this step, enter the Smart Hub menu and launch the previously installed widget NstreamLmod. In its start sheet, select "USB Scanner":

Then your flash drive:

We see the widget archives:

Click on any of them to start installation:

Wait for the process to complete:

At this step, installing Samsung Smart TV widgets from a flash drive is complete! Now exit the Smart Hub menu and turn off the TV.

Then turn on the TV again and log into the Smart Hub. New applications will appear on the main page, or on the "Additional applications" tab in 2013 TVs (F-series):

Please note that all applications installed in this way are marked with the “User” label, that is, custom ones.

Now let's talk about the installation nuances widgets on Samsung TV from a flash drive.

First. If you have installed a trial version of the NstreamLmod application and the free trial period has already ended, then you will not be able to install applications using the method described above.

However, there is a way out and it is very simple. To do this, launch Lmod and select the playlist from "Tsnakemana" in the start list:

Then click on the “USB storage” item and repeat the entire procedure described above:

Second. Sometimes when installing widgets, an error message appears:

There is no need to worry; as a rule, the installation process goes through to completion. After turning on the TV again, the application appears in the Smart Hub.

Well, we figured out installing widgets from a flash drive.

First : musical Clip You:

A lot of high-quality video clips. All content is divided into categories and sections, navigation is easy. A good app, for sure.

Second: viewing three-dimensional photos 3D photo:

Interesting application. You put on the glasses that come with your TV and plunge into the world of virtual reality. The photos posted here are awesome.

Third: Master Karaoke. The name speaks for itself:

This is, as they say, for the soul. Quite a wide choice, there is something to sing:

It turns out that a microphone is connected to the TV and off you go. True, the author himself has not yet tested this application, but over time he will definitely do so.

You'll have to see how the microphone is connected to the TV, invite your friends over for a beer and hang yourself neighbors. 🙂

That's all. He told me about the most interesting and useful things. Now installing Samsung Smart TV widgets shouldn't cause you problems. But if anything, please leave a comment and we’ll discuss it.

And here is the technology of the future today. The car parks without a driver.

Widgets are utility modules for working in a specific environment (on a web resource or on a device) and for performing one specific function. In this article we will be interested in widgets for Smart TV and their installation.

Why they need to be linked to Smart TV can be seen from the following.

The fact is that if your device accesses an Internet resource through a browser, then it must have on board the ability to digest a large amount of operational data. Televisions do not have such features.

And here widgets come to the rescue - graphical shell programs that display on the screen information generated somewhere in the cloud.

It turns out that widgets installed on Smart TV do not significantly reduce the time the image is reflected for the viewer, but make this reflection almost instantaneous.

Categories

According to their purpose, Smart TV widgets are divided into those that can be installed for viewing:

  • information packages (news, currencies, maps, etc.);
  • special applications for 3D content;
  • sites related to training;
  • thematic videos of various directions;
  • with access to social networks, etc.

Where to get it

The most significant players in the market (Samsung, LG, Philips, Sharp) have their own public web sites where you can purchase ready-made applications for any brand.

For LG, this is the LG Apps TV service. Philips has AppGallery.

A wide variety of software for Samsung is presented in the online TV store Samsung Apps.

In addition, since Samsung has opened its Smart TV platform to third-party developers, there are a lot of available utilities for their product on the free Internet.

Widgets for Samsung Smart TV can be found, for example, here http://smarttvnews.ru/widgets/.

Install as standard

To install the application, you need to go to the Smart TV menu (SmartHUB - we get into it using the red button on the remote control). In the search window, type the name of the widget. Then activate the search and simply follow the autotips.

At the end of the process, exit the store site - newly installed widgets are found in bookmarks.

If you can’t install them this way, you can try (after checking your Internet connection) to install them from a flash drive.

Install from a flash drive

Installing an application for Smart TV from a flash drive begins with preparatory operations.

First you need to format the flash drive in FAT32 format. It is convenient to do this in a specific program (download https://fat32-format.en.softonic.com/).

By inserting the flash drive into the slot and indicating the required letter to the program, we activate “Start” to begin formatting:

On the formatted flash drive you need to create a userwidget directory:

It is this folder that will be intended for placing in it those widgets that you find for yourself on the Internet.

IMPORTANT. No need to unpack archives contained in the userwidget directory

The TV autonomously detects the Smart TV application recorded on the flash drive and installs it.

At the beginning of this procedure there will be a message including USB package will be started (installation from USB has started), and at the end - package is done (package installation is completed).

After this procedure, a new widget should appear in the Smart TV menu.

Installation from IP address

For Samsung E-series TVs, you need to activate the Smart HUB button (HUB is TV). Activate the red button on the remote control.

In the Samsung account, the value develop is substituted. The password value is determined automatically and is not entered by the user.

Tap on the “Login” button highlighted in red:

Enter the IP of the application itself - it is contained in the application overview or on the website:

If everything is entered correctly, the installation will begin.

You definitely need to restart your Smart TV - log out of it and log in again.

On TVs of other series you will need to use similar menu sections.

For Samsung F-series, use the value “sso1029dev!” as the password.

Finally, we present the opportunity to watch a detailed video about installing Smart TV widgets for different Samsung models.

Now you are more aware of widgets for Smart TV and how to install them. Install and enjoy watching.
