Sony, unexpectedly for everyone (many were counting on the appearance of the Z5 Tablet), released three new smartphones, and in addition, announced a change in concept (once again). The Z line is over, meet the updated X series.

Despite loud words about a change in concept, the Japanese continue to focus on the camera, battery life and design. It's great that the new products are not left without powerful performance solutions: Qualcomm Snapdgragon 820, Snapdragon 650 and MediaTek Helio P10 are used.

I have already done some tests in AnTuTu. The results have not yet been allowed to be disclosed, but there is no need to worry about them. Everything is on the level.

The same applies to software performance. The animation flies and the menus switch quickly. A couple of times I experienced short-term freezes in the Sony Xperia X, but this is most likely due to the fact that the devices can still be considered prototypes. There is still a lot of time before the final release.

All smartphones should go on sale in Russia this summer, so developers have time to patch up shaky parts.

All three smartphones turned out to be very pleasant. On the one hand, the successors of the OmiBalance design, on the other, there are fashion trends: curved surfaces at the edges, minimal frame widths, and so on. Looks great, fits very well in the hand.

Still, it is no coincidence that all new products have screens with the same diagonal of five inches. It can be considered the golden mean in terms of ease of use. It is difficult to make out anything on a smaller display, and large devices are difficult to operate, especially with one hand.

The display instantly becomes covered with fingerprints, which cannot be easily removed. A very unpleasant moment against the backdrop of everything else that was quite rosy. I hope that oleophobic protection will appear in the final samples and this disgrace will not remain in this form. I repeat, the device turned out to be very worthy.

Sony decided to relaunch the Z series and it turned out well. Beautiful, pleasant, but still expected devices. The company is trying to keep up with the times (installing Snapdragon 820, 2.5 glass, etc.), but also trying not to deviate from old developments in terms of design. It's a pity that there are no innovations or special features that would be unique to these devices.
