A dialer program compatible with a telephone for a computer. Five dialers for Android. Characteristics and selection

The standard interface and design of the application for making calls on Android is quite monotonous in different operating systems, and is not always convenient for some users.

But this problem is easily solved, since there are many applications and software shells for the operating system that allow you to change not only the appearance, but also the functionality of the application.

Which dialer for Android (Android) is the most convenient and functional?

It is very important to choose a program that is right for you, because be that as it may, the main function of a smartphone remains making calls. For most users, this is also the most frequently used feature, so it is important that it is as convenient as possible. Such a dialer can solve a number of problems and eliminate several shortcomings of the standard application, for example, simplifying the call log.

Characteristics and selection

If your work is directly related to calls, then the first thing you should pay attention to is the stability of the program and its ease of use.

Also, for many people, additional functions are important, such as the presence of a contact database.

The table below shows the main characteristics of programs that can play an important role in your choice.

In addition, it is worth considering that paid programs are not always significantly better than free ones.

RocketDialDialer & Contacts

The developer of this program is Christophe Nys.

The main difference between this shell and all the others is the great attention to gesture control - many types of gestures work in this application, which may be a plus for some users and a minus for others.

Distributed free of charge.

In this program you can create “black lists”, switch to full-screen mode for displaying the photo of your interlocutor, etc.

The contacts menu is well optimized (especially compared to Android 5.0), it is possible to write an SMS message, send a message to or call directly from a contact card, etc.

You can also create groups, add contacts to favorites, create an event with a specific contact).

  • Inconvenient controls for those who are not used to actively using gesture functionality;
  • Various interesting, unusual and non-standard skins can be downloaded for an additional fee, which deters some users;
  • It has a certain tendency towards “excessive” functionality - a lot of buttons and functions. Displayed on the screen may interfere significantly.

Here's what users who actively use this application say:

Various personal settings are also possible, but only for its external design.

Users include the following benefits of this application:

  • Wide functionality combined with ease of management;
  • Beautiful graphic design (design) of the application;
  • Allows you not only to make calls, but also to write messages, while it has a really convenient T9 assistant with support for more than 30 languages.
  • The free version only works for 7 days, after which a banner appears insistently asking you to pay for a license (it does not prohibit you from using the program, but it is quite annoying and distracting);
  • Not too extensive opportunities for customization and personal fine tuning;
  • It is not always possible to understand the functionality and guess the presence of some shortcut keys, although the program gives hints at the beginning of use.

What opinion do users have about this application?

“Excellent application, stable operation, sufficient functionality”, “Easy to use”, “Good application, but there is a flaw - it is inconvenient to place shortcuts on the desktop.”

PixelPhone

An application from the trusted developer Pixel Rush.

It is distributed free of charge, but for the full version of the application without advertising you will have to pay 189 rubles.

It is not just a utility for making calls, but is a full-fledged communication manager.

A fairly simple and intuitive interface, although more complex compared to the previous version, since it uses not so much hidden shortcut keys as a large number of buttons.

It has good optimization characteristics - it works properly both on and on the most modern tablets, which makes it different from other programs on the list.

It has all the necessary functions, although in general the functionality is a little narrower than the previous version.

  • Good compatibility with any devices and high stability;
  • Capable of working with two SIM cards, unlike other applications in the list;
  • Its price is significantly lower than the previous program in the TOP.
  • Slightly more confusing and complex interface;
  • Slightly narrowed functionality with no possibility of significant customization;
  • Paid distribution (after seven days an intrusive banner appears asking you to pay for using the program).

Users highlight other features:

“I’ve been using this dialer for more than two years - it’s always a stable, working robe”, “Very good application, I’ve been using it for more than one year”, “Sometimes it takes a very long time to make a call.”

Dialer+

This is a fairly simple application from the developer Contacts Plus Team, which is completely free.

It is easy to use, beautifully designed and quite functional.

Helps build a database using information from social networks and.

It features a stylish design with Material Design elements.

In addition to the standard functionality, it has an additional function - to notify friends about birthdays on social networks with which it is synchronized.

Offers different contact sorting systems depending on user preferences.

  • Good compatibility and high stability;
  • Free distribution of the version with full functionality;
  • The ability to create widgets on the home screen to simplify call processes.
  • Narrower functionality than other listed applications;
  • Small possibilities for customization and customization;
  • The interface is not always obvious and understandable, sometimes the controls are confusing.

What do users say?

“Inconvenient program”, “Works unstable”, “Quite a wide database”.

True Caller

A completely free application from the trusted developer of the same name, True Caller.

This program is significantly different from those described above.

While the main advantages of the first five options were convenience with a beautiful design, this program is quite complex, multifunctional and unusual.

It is in many ways similar to the 2GIS system, but has the main difference - it shows data not only about organizations, but also about people.

All data used in it is in open sources.

Thus, when there is an incoming call from an unfamiliar number, you will be able to immediately see the photo of the caller and his name, if there is data about him.

At the same time, the database is constantly expanding and replenished.

  • Searching for information about the caller and deanonymizing;
  • The ability to search and view information about a person before making a call to an unfamiliar number;
  • Simple but extensive functionality.
  • Full functionality is implemented only if the Internet is available and its speed is good;
  • Searching for information about a person can sometimes take up to 20 seconds; when working over a mobile network, when working over a wireless network it takes only 1-2 seconds;
  • <Рис. 8 PhoneDeck>

    Free application from Phonedeck GmbH.

    This is the same app that was previously called Phonedeck Contacts.

    This program can both make calls and analyze all contacts and call logs.

    The peculiarity of the program is that it stores data on incoming and outgoing calls, messages, etc.

    Based on this data, it can create visual, user-friendly statistics.

    Among other things, it allows you to automatically notify your friends from your contact list about a change in number or other contact information.

    • Stable operation, optimized for many device models;
    • Accurate and correct statistics with correct data;
    • Wide functionality, especially suitable for those whose work involves making phone calls.
    • The ability to interact only with those smartphones on which the same program is installed;
    • Quite narrow functionality for making direct calls and working with contacts;
    • Almost complete lack of customization and even design changes.

    Here's what users say about the program:

    “Works stably”, “Narrow functionality”, “High speed”.

When doing business online, it is often necessary to take into account that remote employees can/should use telephony. And a dialer program for PC can help with this. You can connect to such a program any number that clients or suppliers will call. And of course, outgoing calls will also show exactly this number, and not the faceless message “number not identified.”

MangoTalker

The Mango dialer is used in conjunction with a virtual PBX, it is a convenient, lightweight program that works reliably, without glitches or call dropouts. It is possible to connect a number from any telecom operator, from any region.

Mango Talker allows you to make outgoing calls and receive calls on your PC, receive and send faxes, SMS and voice messages. There is a convenient notebook that allows you to save specific numbers with comments.

Zoyper uses call encryption, which can be useful for business negotiations. The program does not use Java or Flash, but C++, this has its advantages, but in practice it seemed to me rather a disadvantage. Incoming calls were sometimes interrupted, I don’t know what the reason was, but I had to give up this dialer.

Bria, a convenient, reliable dialer, although without Russian language support. Although making calls does not require special knowledge of the language, the green and red buttons with the handset are understandable without translation.

The program allows you to show all received or missed calls; this can be very convenient if there are several calls going on at the same time. Finding “missed” calls and calling the client back turns out to be much clearer and more convenient.

Greetings, Habrapeople! We decided to continue the story about software that can replace the not-so-convenient and functional standard Meizu MX2 applications. As I said in a previous article on keyboard reviews, it is important to acknowledge the shortcomings of your products and offer adequate solutions to the problems that arise, rather than sitting back with cliched phrases. This time too, we are forced to admit that the phone application included in the Flyme kit is suitable only for the most undemanding users. For the rest, we invite you to get acquainted with five third-party “dialers” that can easily replace the standard one.

Go Dialer & Contacts

Go Dev Team “lit up” in almost all the most popular application categories; of course, they could not ignore programs for calling contacts. The Go Dialer application has been on Google Play for a long time and at the time of its appearance it had many interesting features that other “dialers” now have, which does not make this program worse.

Traditionally, let's start with the appearance. When you first open it, a numeric keyboard appears in front of you with Latin and Cyrillic letters printed on it. If desired, the keyboard can be minimized, then a list of all calls will open in chronological order on the entire screen. If more than one call was made to the subscriber, they are all hidden under the contact card; to view them, just click on the arrow to the right of the number.

The keyboard supports Smart Dial - when you type letters or numbers, contacts whose names or numbers contain these combinations are displayed. Interestingly, unlike most other programs, Go Dialer searches not only by the first letters of a word.

Using the buttons located at the top of the screen, you can quickly navigate to incoming, outgoing and missed calls. The lower buttons are responsible for switching to other tabs; it’s interesting that in addition to the usual pressing of the button, switching using left/right gestures is also supported (the flipping animation is also customizable).

The “Contacts” tab is quite ascetic - you can quickly view a contact card, and clicking on the avatar opens a small window with quick actions (call, SMS or view a contact).

The main feature of Go Dialer is a huge number of themes (as in other Go Dev Team products), I personally really like the “icy” theme, many people prefer dark themes.

Pros:

  • Smart Dial support
  • Availability of many topics
  • Convenient transition between dialer and contacts
  • Free
Minuses:
  • Mediocre translation into Russian
  • Small (compared to competitors) number of settings

Rocket Dialer

Another famous “dialer”. When you first open the program, it includes a small training mode consisting of six slides. Then the usual digital block and a list of recent calls appear in front of you. Rocket Dialer paid a lot of attention to gestures. You can see the full list of supported gestures in the screenshots below. I was pleasantly surprised by so many gestures.

If you hide the keyboard, then at the bottom of the screen you can see two rows of buttons - the first allows you to quickly navigate to incoming/outgoing/missed calls, and the second opens tabs with contacts, favorite numbers and groups.

The address book is presented as a list of contacts with thumbnails of their photos. You can quickly call the desired subscriber using the button on the right, or by swiping from left to right. By the way, “swiping” from right to left opens a conversation with a contact.

When you open a contact, you are shown detailed information about it, and from here you can quickly edit its data. An interesting item is HD Photo, it allows you to assign a high-quality photo that will not deteriorate after synchronization. However, in the case of Flyme OS this is irrelevant, since this function is provided initially.

The dialer has many different themes that change its appearance, however, unlike Go Dialer, most of them are paid.

Pros:

  • Gesture support
  • Availability of Smart Dial
  • HD Photo (not relevant for Flyme)
  • Russian letters in dialer
Minuses
  • Paid themes
  • Errors in translation
The program is paid (120 rubles), there is a ten-day free trial.

Dialer One

Users who have been familiar with Android for a long time have probably heard about this “dialer”; for about a year and a half it was one of the best, and at the moment it’s quite good.
The home screen greets us with a numeric keypad and a list of recent calls. In the upper right corner there are buttons for quickly moving to contact groups, searching and sorting calls by category (incoming/outgoing/missed). The program supports Smart Dial; the search is carried out not only by the first letters/numbers, but by the entire number/first name/last name of the contact.

Using “swipe” on the number pad, you can quickly switch between the call list and the address book. The application has many settings: you can change the sorting of calls, change the color with which a contact is highlighted when searching, change the dialer theme, and much more.

Pros:

  • Smart Dial support
  • Third party theme support
  • Detailed call sorting settings
  • Many display related settings
Minuses
  • Appearance
  • No calling using swipes

DW Phone

I knew nothing about this application until recently. I came across it literally a week ago in the market and after testing it I also decided to add it to the article.
The initial screen is presented with a list of calls and a numeric keypad. The application supports Smart Dial, the search is carried out using the entire first name, last name and number, Russian letters are present.

At the bottom of the screen you can see buttons responsible for quickly jumping to the corresponding tabs. The Toolbar key allows you to change the shortcuts found on the bottom panel. Each tab has its own settings. The application supports displaying "Favorites", a list of all contacts and groups.

Despite the support for many functions and the possibility of detailed configuration, the DW Dialer application seemed to me overloaded with settings and completely ugly in appearance.

Pros:

  • Smart Dial support
  • Detailed settings for each tab
  • Multifunctional bottom panel
Minuses:
  • Unintuitive menu
  • Mediocre appearance

exDialer & Contacts

I saved the best caller for last. What is exDialer? To put it simply, this is a dialer from custom MIUI firmware, available as a separate application. I think many of you have heard about MIUI, the programs from this firmware look great and have many functions, in fact, exDialer was no exception to the rule.

The start screen greets us with a traditional numeric keypad and a list of recent calls. Neat arrows indicate the type of call (incoming/outgoing/missed); by the way, missed calls are highlighted in red. Swiping down hides the keyboard.

Swiping right/left allows you to quickly call a subscriber or send him an SMS. If a contact has several numbers, then when you call you are offered to set the main one or select them manually each time. In the program settings, you can change the language, enable landscape orientation, set the action when you click on a contact, and also change the height of the numeric block.

Separately, I would like to note the support for themes, there are not many of them, but they are all very beautiful; personally, I like the ICS dark theme the most.

Pros:

  • Appearance
  • Theme support
  • Calling using gestures
  • Lots of settings
Minuses:
  • Gesture support isn't as good as Rocket Dialer
The program is free, but if you wish, you can support the developer by purchasing a paid add-on.

Dialer for Android is a tool that replaces the classic phone book and call menu. There are quite a few such applications on Google Play, and we have selected the 5 best of them. Traditionally, we have relied on in-store user ratings.

1. Metro dialer with a rating of 4.5

A very colorful and interesting program. It is also characterized by high operating speed. It is important that Metro dialer is easy to use and even a novice user can figure it out.

An interesting feature is the division of contacts into categories. It is also possible to view and manage call history.

As for color, Metro dialer comes with 12 colors and a large number of themes to choose from. You can change the appearance of your dialer every day.

Here are other features of Metro dialer:

  • the whole set of operations with contacts - adding, editing, deleting, moving to the favorites category, and so on;
  • there is a search that is made very convenient and simple;
  • using a tiled interface.

2. Simpler Dialer: Dialing, Phone, Call Blocking 4.5

Simpler Dialer on Android is one of the simplest, but at the same time functional dialers. It has a function to block certain numbers, which is very convenient.

There is also spam blocking, that is, unnecessary messages will not come to you, and you will not be distracted by them. Intelligent contact search is also worthy of attention.

Important! Simpler Dialer can detect hidden numbers. There is also a function to determine the identity of an unknown subscriber. That is, you will see not just an unfamiliar number, but its photo from social networks and other sources.

This is a very functional program.

Here are a few more of its features:

  • T9 in a phone book search;
  • more than 40 themes for application design;
  • quick dialing of contacts that are used most often.

3. Caller ID and Contacts: Eyecon 4.5

Another very functional application that can identify the subscriber and immediately display his photo and name, even if it is not in the phone book. The developers tried to make everything so that you can complete any task in one click.

For example, with one touch you can create a contact - the system will independently find all the data about this person and fill in the fields with his information.

"Big Brother is watching you" (c)

Other Eyecon features:

  • preventing spam calls;
  • intuitive interface that “adjusts” to the user;
  • selecting your photo and other information in the phones of people who call you.

4. Contacts & Phone - drupe 4.6

The best or at least one of the best callers at the moment. The main task of the application is to collect all the user's contacts in one place. Drupe is a collection of individual small applications or widgets.

To perform a certain action, you just need to drag the contact into the desired widget, for example, into messages or into a call. Convenient and interesting approach to business!

A few more interesting points about drupe:

  • Dialing can be done from different applications;
  • convenient address book sorting functions;
  • integration into other programs, for example, from social networks.

5. True Phone Phone Contacts 4.6

A very simple but reliable dialer and call manager. True Phone works with contacts, groups, favorites and other features. At the same time, the application interface is designed in such a way that any action can be performed with one hand. The program works very quickly and conveniently.

Other important points in True Phone:

  • full integration of T9 - into search, call history, contacts;
  • a large number of design themes;
  • flexible design that adapts to the user.

Write which dialer you use.

Every smartphone running Android has a so-called “dialer” installed. This is an application that combines dialing, call log and contact book. But not everyone likes the option created by the smartphone manufacturer. In this case, we consider installing a “dialer” from third-party developers. It is these types of applications that we will talk about in this article.

There are a variety of “dialers” for Android. They can have both very wide and standard functionality. They can also be paid or free. In the first case, you will most likely see advertisements regularly. In the second, there will be no advertising, but you will have to spend a certain amount. Finally, it can be equipped with a backup function to the cloud service of your choice. This will allow you to not rely strictly on Google's servers. However, enough of the lyrics. Let's get acquainted with what the best “dialers” are.

True Phone

A fairly simple but functional program. First of all, it is intended for those people whose pre-installed application for some reason refuses to work stably. Here, each contact is equipped with a round miniature. If the contact does not have a photo, then the first letter of the name is displayed in this thumbnail. If necessary, you can quickly move to the desired part of the list - for this, the alphabet on the right edge is used. All information in this and some other sections is on a black background. However, this is only the default - the color can be changed.

In total, True Phone consists of four tabs. In addition to “Contacts”, these are “Phone”, “Favorites” and “Groups”. The last section is very convenient. With its help, you can unite your entire family into one group, further simplifying the call of any relative.

Each contact here has its own page. The application also supports speed dialing. It is also important that the program has rich settings. In particular, you can easily change the size of the lines and font, as well as the color of any element. As expected, True Phone provides the ability to manage two SIM cards. You can even create two call buttons! The application also has experimental functions that can be activated.

In short, the developers did their best. They distribute their product for free. However, advertising will be displayed in the application settings (not immediately, but 7 days after installation). If it annoys you, you can spend a couple of dollars on the Pro version.

PixelPhone

Another free “dialer” for Android. Initially, Russian developers were involved in the development of the application. But later the program was acquired by Felink Technology. Its management liked the fact that the application not only supports work with three SIM cards if the smartphone has so many slots, but is also equipped with Antispam technology. However, from now on all advanced functions are contained only in PixelPhone Pro, which is distributed on a paid basis.

The contact book in this application is made in a traditional manner. Next to each entry there is a round miniature. If there is no photograph, then the miniature contains only the silhouette of a man. All contacts are divided alphabetically. You can navigate to the desired letter using the list on the right. You can also enter the first letters of your last name at any time using the search bar at the top of the interface. As with all applications of this kind, there is a “Blacklist” function. But even more, users should like the ability to change themes. By default, the Material theme is activated, which first appeared in Android 5.0.

exDialer

A very good dialer for Android with a built-in contact book. The application supports the Russian-language SmartDial, so the desired contact can be found in a couple of clicks. At the same time, the program works very quickly. Even if your contact book consists of several hundred entries, and the application is installed on an old smartphone with weak components.

Like many other Russian dialers for Android, exDialer has rich settings. At any time, the user can change the theme, as well as change the font sizes and various interface elements. Moreover, gestures are supported here, the reactions to which are also customizable. There is also support for plugins that can expand the functionality even further.

Unfortunately, the application will not suit everyone. The fact is that the free version is essentially a trial version - it only works for one week. As soon as you get used to the dialer, it refuses to start, requiring you to pay 230 rubles. However, this is not the largest amount - Smartbobr recommends forking out! This is the case when the application is worth the money they ask for it.

2GIS Dialer
ASUS Dialer

At one time, this call manager was present only on ASUS smartphones. But at some point, the Taiwanese manufacturer decided to popularize its creation a little more by posting it on Google Play. The program is completely free. From the word “in general”. There is no paid content or advertising. But you shouldn’t expect any extraordinary functionality. In fact, this is a standard “dialer” for Android, which has only basic capabilities. For example, the number of functions includes the repeatedly mentioned SmartDial, which makes it easier to find the desired contact. Any entry can be added to the “black list”. Moreover, this list of unwanted numbers is a separate section where there is detailed management of blocked contacts.

A nice bonus is the support for themes. This feature allows you to quickly change the background and text colors. The utility also offers to use the so-called “simple mode”. In fact, it activates an interface for the visually impaired - all elements become very large, and some disappear completely (in particular, in this mode you will have to forget about SmartDial).

Drupe

A very unusual “dialer” for Android. The fact is that it offers a unique way to call up the contact book. After installing the program, you will see four dots on the left side of the screen. If you pull them, the Drupe application will open. It turns out that space on the desktop is freed up for one icon.

A special interface is also used inside the application itself. If you hold your finger on a contact, you can drag it to one of several icons. For example, drag a contact onto the messenger - a message entry window appears. Drag the contact onto the call icon and the call begins. Very comfortably! Any contact here can be created as a shortcut on the desktop. And not only on it - the shortcut can even be displayed on the lock screen! Another feature of this creation by the developers is the “Reminder”. Here you can enter an entry with a request to remind you to call a subscriber.

The interface of the contact book and other sections is far from Material Design. But at least this makes the application original. Of course, all menu items are translated into Russian, otherwise the program would not have been included in our selection. Nothing bad can be said about finding the right contact - the SmartDial function manifests itself in all its glory. But the not-so-rich settings are somewhat disappointing - only a few parameters can be changed.

The application turned out to be very convenient, but it will definitely take you some time to master the controls. It is also impossible not to note the fact that the fully functional version of Drupe costs money. You can use the free option, but it will be annoying with ads that appear regularly.

DW Contacts & Phone & Dialer

Another “dialer” that is a real combine. This “Contacts” application for Android has a colorful interface, which should appeal not so much to guys as to girls. At the same time, the search is implemented well here. If you've forgotten the name of someone you're calling, you can search by birthday, website, email, and more. As long as the required contact has the appropriate fields filled in... And there is also voice search!

When there is an incoming call, the program is able to pronounce the caller's name. She copes with this quite well. The application also has a great implementation of a call log. Convenient sorting is available in it. You can also create a note in the call log at any time. This is a very useful feature, believe me!

Since this is a full-fledged combine, you can find all the information about the selected contact in one place. That is, you will see when he called you, all his SMS and various statistics. By the way, the time of all calls is constantly taken into account here. The program can notify you when your free time ends.

The application supports VoIP. This means that it can work with Skype, Viber and other Internet services of this kind. The user should also be pleased with the “Settings” section, in which almost everything is configured. You can also change the theme, which is good news. But the presence of advertising can be upsetting. The developers are literally forcing you to buy a paid version of their program.

Summarizing

This concludes our story about the best call managers for Android. A lot of similar applications have been created, but we recommend paying attention only to those discussed in this article. Some of the programs will definitely suit you 100%.

Have you ever used a third-party dialer? Or do you prefer the option pre-installed by the smartphone manufacturer? We are waiting for your opinion in the comments.
