Creating a desktop shortcut via file location

The first method is as follows: we find the location of the folder in which Yandex was installed and create it for the executable file.

But before that, you need to enable the visibility of hidden files and folders on your computer. To do this, go to: “Start” – “Control Panel”.

In the next window, at the top, select “View” – “Large Icons”, and select “Folder Options” from the list.

The next thing to do is to find through Explorer the folder in which the Yandex browser was installed. It is usually located along the following path:

It's no secret that many users of current computer systems prefer to have the basic elements used in their work, so to speak, at hand. What do we use: a browser or a search engine?

First of all, when talking about the services and software products provided by Yandex, you need to clearly distinguish between their types.

Quite conventionally, they can be divided into two categories: software products installed on a computer system, and services operating directly on the Internet (mail, search, news, etc.).

As for programs, the most famous of all the products of this developer is Yandex.Browser. Its engine, frankly speaking, is developed on the basis of the world-famous Chromium, which gives reason to doubt the authorship of the company. However, this is not what we are talking about now.

Let's consider another point: is it possible to place a shortcut to “Yandex.Browser” or a search engine on the Desktop, which is called exclusively by software for accessing the Internet. There are at least two solutions here.

How to display the Yandex shortcut on the Desktop: the simplest solution for the browser

Let's start with, perhaps, the simplest one, namely the Internet browser of the same name. How to install a Yandex shortcut on the Desktop? Yes, exactly the same as this is done for all other programs.

There are two methods you can use here. In the first case, you are supposed to find the browser itself or a link to it in the Start menu, and then use the right click to call up a submenu, where you select the command to send a shortcut to the Desktop. In the second option, you can find the executable EXE launch file itself, say, in the same standard one, use again the right click to call up the menu, which contains the line for sending the shortcut to the Desktop.

But this only applies to outdated versions of the browser. All new modifications create icons both in the Desktop location and in the Quick Launch panel automatically (and even install a bunch of additional things).

How to install a Yandex shortcut on your desktop: a technique for a search engine

If we talk specifically about the search engine, the issue here is also resolved quite simply. Let's look at how to create a Yandex shortcut on the Desktop in the simplest way.

If anyone hasn’t been paying attention, take a close look at the running Internet browser with the Yandex start or search page. As a rule, all modern browsers display an icon (logo) of trusted sites to the left of the address bar. And pages with Yandex services are no exception.

The Yandex shortcut is transferred to the Desktop by simply dragging the icon (these are the letters Y or Z to the left of the line) from the browser while pressing the left mouse button. That's all. In this case, you need to minimize or reduce the browser window so that it does not completely cover the Desktop area.

In some cases, you can use another option when the browser window completely covers the Desktop. But then you will have to first move the shortcut to the icon for minimizing all windows (in Windows 7 it is located at the bottom right of the screen), and only after that the shortcut will be placed in the right place.

You can also place a Yandex shortcut on the Desktop using the desktop settings themselves, provided in Windows operating systems of any modification. Here you just need to right-click on a free area of the empty screen, and select the line in the context menu

In the site address line we write the address of the Yandex resource. Some systems can, to put it mildly, spit, so you need to enter https (a secure connection) rather than http as a prefix. In general, the Yandex shortcut is transferred to the Desktop quite simply, which is quite a simple matter for a browser, for a search engine or any other service provided by Yandex. Another question is which object or program the created shortcut should be associated with.

It remains to add that the method using your own Desktop settings is universal, since it allows you to create a shortcut for both the program and the web page. How to pin the “Taskbar” when working in the Yandex browser?

The first thing you should check is whether the “Taskbar” is not displayed only when you are in the Yandex browser or whether it is hidden when you launch any program. In the first case, you should close full-screen mode, and in the second, go to setting up the panel itself.

Another diagnostic method is to move the cursor to the place where the bottom panel should be. If it does not appear, full screen mode is active. If it hides after removing the mouse, the reason is in the Windows settings, not the program itself.

How to pin the panel while working with Yandex browser:

In rare cases, the “Taskbar” is hidden when opening the Yandex browser due to system failures. During a prolonged system freeze, Windows removes all screen elements because there are not enough system resources for them. If the bottom panel disappears due to the launch of the Yandex web browser for this reason, the panel should appear on its own after a short time (5-45 seconds depending on PC performance). The process will speed up, if the “Yandex application is not responding” window appears, we better select “Quit”.

If the “Taskbar” disappears frequently and regardless of launching the Yandex browser, that is, it is just as likely to disappear when another application is activated – there is a high risk of virus infection. First of all, we recommend eliminating the possibility of a lack of system resources due to weak technical characteristics of the PC or excessive load on it. We simply close unnecessary programs and wait for the files to be copied, games installed, and then launch the browser again.

If the system continues to freeze and automatically hides the “Taskbar” when opening the Yandex browser, it is worth removing the increased load on the system due to viruses, and then removing the infected files.

How to return the bottom panel while working with the Yandex browser when Windows freezes:

Open "Task Manager". The item of the same name appears after right-clicking on the panel below.
Click on the “More details” button (if the “Task Manager” is displayed in a reduced form).
Click on the “CPU” column on the “Processes” tab, so all actions will be arranged according to the number of resources required. First of all, it’s worth determining what kind of panel it is? – This is the line on which extensions are located in the Yandex browser.
