Family holiday at sea. The cheapest country for a holiday. Inexpensive holiday with children at sea. We organize budget holidays abroad

Every year we vacation on the Russian and Abkhaz coasts as a family of three adults and a child. At the same time, we deny ourselves almost nothing for two weeks and stay within the budget of 75-100 thousand rubles. Perhaps our vacation is not the most luxurious, but it is quite comfortable and economical.

Where to go?

We choose a place for vacation, rather looking at the features of a vacation with a child. For example, a sandy beach or small pebbles in Anapa or Azov is by definition better than the usual pebble beaches of Krasnodar resorts and Abkhazia.

Getting to Sochi or Abkhaz towns takes longer and is more expensive, but you can do it without unnecessary transfers. The smaller the settlement, the cheaper the rental housing will be. But you should be prepared for the fact that if necessary, you will have to seek medical help in the regional center and get to the hospital by taxi. That's why we choose small villages not far from large settlements - the holidays are cheaper, there are fewer people on the beaches, but civilization is nearby.

How to get there?

We live in a region where it is not so easy to get anywhere by plane. We are not considering the option of flying with transfers - it is inconvenient with a child and will definitely not fit into the budget. There is no car either, although it’s only a night’s drive to Azov, 14-16 hours to Anapa, and less than a day to Sochi. And there are not even direct trains to the south. Therefore, getting to the resting place is still a quest.

Our life tips for traveling with Russian Railways:

We buy tickets 90 days in advance. It is at this time that the pre-sale opens.

We choose a train with air conditioning and a dry closet in advance, take more comfortable seats - in the first compartment near the conductors, the whole family together

The child is on the bottom shelf. Almost always in a compartment, the lower seats are much more expensive than the upper ones. But taking into account the 65% discount on a child’s ticket, it turns out to be even cheaper than a reserved seat. You can also spend the night in a reserved seat. If the difference in price is still significant, we select trains that depart in the evening and arrive at the place before lunch. With this schedule, you can save money and spend the night in a reserved seat.

We travel from Tuesday to Thursday. It is on these three days of the week that ticket prices are the lowest, because most vacationers leave on Friday-Saturday and return on Sunday-Monday. Due to Russian Railways' dynamic pricing, travel on these days will cost more.

Choose a route with transfers. It may turn out that with a transfer you will get there not only cheaper, but also faster, because part of the journey can be covered by fast trains. And a special Russian Railways bus will take you to the transfer point much cheaper than a regular regular bus, and exactly at the time of train departure.

Buy tickets with cashback. This is one of the most significant vacation expenses, so I always pay only with a cashback card. After spending 20 thousand rubles, you can return up to 1000 back.

Where to live?

We prefer to stay in guest houses. Hotels, even very budget ones, would not allow you to fit into a modest budget. The ideal option for us is our own apartment, house or bungalow with a kitchen. Booking.com is the most popular site for booking accommodation. But not the only one.

In Sochi, Adler, Anapa and smaller settlements you can find an apartment on Airbnb.ru. But our experience shows that the owners of most real estate properties, when applying directly, are ready to reduce the price by 10-15% or more. This is the commission they pay for listing an item on aggregator sites.

You can find the owners’ contacts on the Internet at the address of the guest house. Hotels and guest houses on the Taman Peninsula have been collected on the Taman.Ru website. There are specialized sites where only boathouses are collected - there are many of them in Crimea, in Lazarevskoye, Loo and Volkhonka.

There is a more varied selection on the sites “I want to go to the south” and “Azur”, and there are also many objects there that cannot be found on Booking. There are reviews, and the prices are lower. For example, in Abkhazia we rented a room for three with a bathroom, air conditioning and a shared kitchen for 2,500 rubles per day. A small house for five with air conditioning, a bathroom and its own kitchen on the Taman coast of Azov cost the same amount. Both options are just a hundred meters from the sea.

Before choosing this or that accommodation option, we looked at Google Panoramas to see if the beach was clean, how far it was to the market and shops, and whether there were noisy bars and discos nearby.

What to eat?

We select good catering options on Google Maps. For properties nearby, you can immediately see ratings and reviews from other visitors, and sometimes even approximate prices. Compared to the popular Tripadvisor.ru, even very small villages and tiny roadside cafes are marked on Google Maps. Therefore, there are always options for inexpensive and safe catering. And, of course, in any place we look for a cafe on the beach with the most delicious kebab.

To save money, we always choose a guest house with its own or at least a shared kitchen. Road travelers can take a multicooker with them. Even if you don’t plan to fully cook while on vacation, you can at least have breakfast in your room. Oatmeal and scrambled eggs are much cheaper than any breakfast in any cafe. In addition, mashed potatoes with a cutlet or even dumplings and sausages are much more familiar to children than fatty or spicy dishes of local cuisine. Therefore, the first place we go is the local food market. It’s good if there are chain supermarkets in the locality. Even if you don’t go there in normal life, they can save you a lot on vacation. We also look for them on Google Maps.

How to have fun?

The most unexpected expenses are always related to entertainment. Planning travel and housing expenses is much easier. Therefore, we look at the reviews of those objects that will be located nearby in advance, while still at home. Is it worth going to a water park, zoo and dolphinarium, or do they leave much to be desired? But many interesting attractions are absolutely free. For example, on the Azov coast we love to walk to the estuaries. In the capital of Abkhazia, Sukhumi, we climbed the Sukhumi Mountain with an observation deck overlooking the city, sea and mountains. They also found the preserved castle of King Bagrat from the 12th century.

In New Athos we climbed to the Anakopia fortress, visited the Simon-Canaanite monastery and the grotto of the Apostle Simon the Canaanite, walked through the Green Valley with a cascade of Three Cauldron waterfalls, and visited an abandoned railway. And all this is completely free! Moreover, the three-year-old willingly climbed the mountain and walked along forest paths. The Maps.me application helped us find all the attractions nearby and plot a walking route to them.

When planning a budget vacation, we always evaluate what we are willing to give up. For example, we would rather choose a guest house with a kitchen and close to the sea than a mini-hotel with a pool and its own cafe, but a 20-30 minute walk from the beach. We are ready to spend time traveling by rail rather than by plane, and pay 3-4 times less for it. In addition, my son’s great love for trains began with his first trip to the sea. The views outside the window turned out to be more interesting for him than the cartoons on the tablet - he could definitely save money on it.

"Where should I go to the seaside with my child?" - every parent asks this question on the eve of the holiday season, deciding to go to the sea with their children... When choosing the best country for a trip to the sea with a child, it is necessary to take into account many factors. 9 Thailand

Thailand, contrary to popular belief, is suitable for relaxation not only for adults, but also for children. Not Bangkok, of course, and hardly Pattaya... But on most of the islands of Thailand, excellent beaches, warm clean seas and low prices await you and your child. We recommend Krabi, Ao Nang, Phuket, Koh Chang, Samet, Phangan and other islands... But Samui is best for families with children! On Koh Samui, the rainy season is minimal, and moreover, direct charter flights have recently begun flying to Koh Samui from Russia.

In Thailand it has been very good and popular lately to spend the winter, and children can completely replace winter with 2-3 months of summer... Our winter in Thailand coincides with the hot beach season without rain (from November to March). However, during short trips, such a sudden change in climate is not always beneficial for the baby. Therefore, the best time to travel with a child to almost all resorts in Thailand: March and April. Exception: Koh Samui! You can go to Koh Samui from April to September! At this time, the average air temperature day/night: +31/+23, water: +28, and precipitation is minimal. From May to October is the so-called rainy season on most islands. And on Samui the rainy season is only in October and November.

Nuances. When traveling with a child to Thailand, take into account the length of the journey and the distance of the islands from the main Bangkok airport, as well as differences in the rainy seasons of different regions of Thailand.

How to get there. A direct flight to Thailand lasts about 10 hours.

10 Maldives

The Maldives is a Paradise on Earth, gradually sinking under water... They say that in a few decades these islands may disappear completely into the ocean... Your grandchildren may no longer be able to enjoy the absolutely white coral sand and warm azure sea. Therefore, fly yourself and bring your children! In addition, most island hotels in the Maldives are not suitable for active recreation and entertainment, but are ideal for a romantic trip or a trip with a small child. It is better to choose islands on the Atolls closer to Male Airport, for example: North and South Male Atolls, North and South Ari Atolls, Rasdhoo Atoll... Otherwise, after a ten-hour flight you will have to fly for a long time on a seaplane or sail on a boat.

The best time to travel with a child to the Maldives: March and April. During this season, the average air temperature day/night: +31/+26, water: +29, and precipitation is minimal. From May to November is the so-called rainy season.

Nuances. On different Maldives islands, or even on different sides of the same island, sea and beach conditions can vary dramatically! Depending on currents and winds, the beach and coastal water can be very littered with algae, branches, leaves... There may be stones and corals on the seabed instead of white sand... Study all these questions when choosing a hotel!
Please note that most Maldives islands only have one hotel. Accordingly, you will have an assortment and price monopoly within one island. For example, a can of beer can cost you 7 dollars with absolutely no choice.
You should not be too afraid of tropical showers during the rainy season: they are rare, short-lived and usually occur at night... All year round, the air and water temperatures in the Maldives are practically unchanged. Accordingly, recommendations for the season to visit are quite conditional...

How to get there. A direct flight to the Maldives lasts about 9 hours.

Elena and Mikhail, good afternoon! I really like your blog) I admire your story. You guys are great. I have a 1.5 year old daughter and I would really like to escape from everyday life and go to the sea, preferably for a long time) but it all comes down to finances and the fear of traveling far without a husband and a child. Could you recommend where I can go to live now that is relatively inexpensive?

    Answer

    Michael 1 year 9 months(s)

    Hello, Ekaterina. Thank you
If you go abroad for a long time, then this is definitely not a tour, but an independent trip. If you want to be as inexpensive as possible, then you need to rely on the cheap cost of air tickets, rental housing, accommodation and food, and also that you can stay in the country for a long time without a visa. It is relatively inexpensive to get and live in Thailand, Turkey, Bulgaria, and Cyprus. All product prices are comparable to Russian prices and often even cheaper. Housing can also be found inexpensively. There are no problems with communication in these countries - English and often Russian. Quite a comfortable climate for a child and decent medical care, if anything...

    Answer

    Michael 1 year 9 months(s)

    - Thailand is a little far away, air tickets are more expensive, you can come without a visa for 30 days, and then extend your stay at the Thai immigration office for another 30-60 days, inexpensive, like 1900 baht. Very cheap food and accommodation.
    - You need a visa to Bulgaria - either a Schengen visa, or get a Bulgarian one at the Bulgarian consulate in Moscow. You can stay in Bulgaria with a visa for up to three months. Cheap car rental, inexpensive food and accommodation.
    - For Cyprus, you can apply for a “provision” online and stay in Cyprus for up to three months. Provisions are issued for Russians according to a simplified procedure. Accommodation and food are a little more expensive than in the other three countries.

    Michael 1 year 9 months(s)

Türkiye, in our opinion, is most suitable for you now with a small child, no matter how banal it may sound. For example, we, with three children, arrived here yesterday for a month and a half, to Alanya, Gazipasa airport. No visa required. You can stay without a visa for up to 60 days. You can get there relatively inexpensively and conveniently by Pobeda, a direct flight to GZP. Just take into account the requirements of this “low-cost airline” for luggage and hand luggage. Children under 2 years old are free. Very comfortable climate with a 1.5 year old child. A huge number of Turks speak Russian. Well, very cheap fruits and vegetables - cucumbers and potatoes - 15 rubles, tomatoes - 30 rubles, strawberries and cherries - 70 rubles. per kg. Approximately, plus or minus. Milk, eggs, chicken, butter - Russian prices. You can eat in a restaurant for 200-500 rubles. Taxi is cheap according to the meter. Nice apartments near the sea for a stay of more than a month - 1000-2000 rubles. per day easily -1500 discount from us, often in combination with free swimming pools, slides, saunas. Lots of interesting sights.

In Turkey there are very cheap clothes, both for adults and for children - take at least the De Facto or LC Waikiki stores.
Be sure to take out insurance!!! Especially with a small child!!! It's inexpensive, pennies.

Mikhail and Elena good afternoon! It was with great pleasure that I got acquainted with your blog - very interesting, informative, exhaustive! A daughter was born in our family a week ago, but I already want to plan a trip to the sea for November-December! The baby will be about 4 months old. I saw that you recommend Turkey - I completely agree with you, I’ve been to Fethiye more than once in October, it’s wonderful there. But I want to fly in November, or better yet, in December for a month (so that the child has time to acclimatize), and apart from the Canary Islands (although the flight there is 7.5 hours), nothing came to mind. Maybe you have had experience visiting a country with clean beaches in November-December?

    Answer

    Michael 1 year 7 months(s)

Good afternoon, Victor. Congratulations on the birth of your daughter! November-December is good in Southeast Asia (Thailand, Vietnam, India), the Maldives, Seychelles, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and Cuba. But the flight to all these countries is even longer, and perhaps it’s too early for a 4-month-old child. You can consider Morocco and Tunisia. But probably the best options would really be the Canary Islands, Israel and the UAE. Take a closer look at Dubai, now visas have been canceled there, the flight takes less than 5 hours. One of these days we will include the UAE in this top 10. How are you going - on your own or on a tour? Look for a tour at

    If on your own:

    Answer

Good article, I think that small children are not a reason to deny your family travel, but only if you approach your vacation wisely. At the same time, we approach the choice of vacation spot with special passion.

    Answer

    Svetlana 1 year 2 month(s)

Hello! What can you recommend? We want to relax with our family and a 3-year-old child in the second half of September at the seaside. What do you think is the best place to fly to be warm? Thanks in advance for your answer!???

Everyone has long known that proper rest is the key to good health. However, what if there is not enough money? Is it worth giving it up completely? No and no again! Relaxing, even abroad, at low cost is quite feasible.

Exotic foreign countries are an attractive place for Russian people. This is justified by the fact that the standard of living abroad is somewhat higher, which leads to excellent service, high quality goods and comfortable living conditions. In addition, a holiday abroad is an opportunity to see beautiful landscapes, learn something new and immerse yourself in a completely different environment. As a result, recently foreign countries have become a favorite place for Russian tourists to spend their holidays.

Immediately before the trip, everyone must decide for themselves what is most important. Rest has its own significance and carries its own meaning for everyone. Some people cannot imagine it without the sea, others - without the exotic, and still others - without interesting facts and attractions. Depending on what goal you are pursuing, you need to determine the location.

Where can you relax most economically?

Of course, many are interested in what is the cheapest country for a holiday. For quite a long time, inexpensive countries for travel have been Egypt, Türkiye and Bulgaria. And you can basically spend time economically in these countries thanks to the famous all-inclusive promotion. This is why holidays in Turkey are so popular.

Bulgaria is distinguished by its beautiful nature, pleasant climate and (compared to European) inexpensive prices. However, the more tourists choose these holiday destinations, the more expensive it becomes to stay there.

Today, vacations in Montenegro, Romania or Croatia will become more economical. In such a situation, figuring out where the cheapest country for a holiday is is quite difficult. A trip, for example, to Italy or Spain, compared to other European countries, will cost much less. Traveling in the off-season, when the cost of travel packages is even more affordable, will help reduce costs. Inexpensive holidays are possible even in resorts such as Goa and Vietnam. These countries have the lowest prices, and the main cost is the road itself. However, if you find and book promotional tickets for the appropriate flights in advance, you can spend much less.

In which European countries is a budget holiday possible?

In general, holidays in Europe are considered quite expensive, but you can spend time there inexpensively and comfortably. The following are countries that have reasonable prices. An inexpensive holiday is possible in one of the lesser-known countries - Albania. It is rich in beautiful nature, interesting history and, most importantly, low prices. Holidays in Albania mean mountains, beaches, good food, clean air and a lot of pleasure. At the same time, its government has already introduced a visa-free regime many times, and, as you know, visa-free countries for holidays are the most accessible for tourists.

Another good option is to visit Lithuania. It is in this country that a full-fledged and budget holiday is possible. Lithuania is distinguished by cheap housing, numerous museums, a pleasant climate and a huge number of architectural monuments. It is certainly included in the list as the cheapest country for a holiday in the Baltics. In addition, Bulgaria can be included in a similar list, entry into which is possible only with a Schengen visa, but it is not difficult to obtain. Budget holidays are also possible in Bosnia, Herzegovina, the Czech Republic, Romania and Poland.

Where to spend your summer holiday

He is always welcome and long-awaited. After a hard year, you always want to relax well and stock up on strength for the whole year. In general, the quality of recreation depends directly on the choice of location, so this issue needs to be given special attention.

    Fresh air of Spain

Spain is a hot country that will allow you to sunbathe, spend time in nature, and get acquainted with its traditions and way of life. Summer in Spain is accompanied by regularity of the day, which gives way to night festivities. The Canary Islands are perfect for a family vacation, and the Balearic Islands are perfect for a youth get-together.

    Hot Türkiye

Inexpensive holidays in Turkey are possible from the very beginning of the summer season, the peak of which falls in the summer and first months of autumn. It is quite hot in Turkey, so tourists usually spend most of their time at the sea. In addition, this country is great for both family holidays and entertainment and fun. The best resorts in Turkey are Kemer, Antalya and Bodrum.

    We organize budget holidays abroad

Actually, the main part of the costs abroad is travel and housing costs. To spend your holiday abroad as cheaply as possible, there may be two options for the development of the situation. The first thing that can affect the cost is a vacation on hot packages. The second is a travel route compiled by you personally, searching for inexpensive charter flights and inexpensive accommodation. Traveling on a hot ticket is a pretty good idea, but it also has its downsides. Hot deals do not allow you to plan your purchase, as they are quite difficult to catch. Therefore, the hunt for them should be carried out quite closely. You can constantly monitor the offers of tour operators in the desired direction using the Internet. Of course, in this case you must either not work, or count on being allowed on vacation at any time, and this is extremely rare.

You can also get ready in advance and look for offers among many travel agencies. There is a chance that in a few days you will find an interesting offer at a low price. It is necessary to understand that any holiday abroad requires at least basic knowledge of the language of the chosen country. Therefore, it is advisable to prepare in advance and learn the language. In addition, it doesn’t hurt to familiarize yourself with the local climate and pick up the necessary things and clothing for your trip.

In general, the majority of the cost of a vacation is taken up by flights and accommodation, and by purchasing tickets at a competitive price, you can save a lot.
