Review of LEXAND Mini LPH7 Smarty – ultra-compact Android smartphone. Operating system and specifications

- March 17, 2016

A smartphone, or rather a smartphone, is very comfortable in the hand. You don't have to use your other hand just to answer the phone. It's mega-light, you won't drop it. The sound is good, loud, does not stick together, does not crack. This is probably a new model. I'm happy with my smartphone. Because I can’t get used to these fancy phones. True, the camera is rather weak, it could have been a little stronger. But for this there is an ordinary camera. I personally need a phone to make calls.

Advantages:

The smartphone is simple, uncomplicated, the battery lasts for up to four hours of conversation. There are no bells and whistles, everything is logical and understandable, you don’t have to sit for a long time and figure out where everything is. The RAM is not large, but it supports a memory card up to 32 megabytes. The screen is bright, everything is visible on the street, there is no reflection or reflection, although the screen is glossy. I like that it's simple.

Flaws:

Period of use:

I took it for ease of carrying, at the same time I use navigation, and soap, and he reads books to me out loud, I listen to music on headphones or a Bluetooth headset, well, the photos are certainly not the highest quality, but I use a DSLR. In general, I’m happy, I took it for 3890 rubles. worth this money.

    Advantages:

miniature, easy to hold, GPS is amazing, battery lasts for a day.

    Flaws:

The mini USB connector is certainly not convenient.

I use this model as a second smartphone (work). I am very pleased with the size of the device (you can easily put both smartphones in one trouser pocket). The device works stably, does not glitch (the RAM copes with a bang), the small (at first glance) 2.45-inch screen is easily enough even for reading news on the Internet or mail. The case is glossy, so marks remain, this is its disadvantage. I have used the camera a couple of times, the quality of the shooting is acceptable. In general, I'm happy with the smartphone. Perfect as a second phone, either for a child, or just for those people who miss small phones.

    Advantages:

dimensions (size, weight), cost, 3G support

    Flaws:

    Glossy plastic

The mini-smartphone is easy to use, despite its small screen. There is enough RAM to run several applications simultaneously. There are plenty of built-in functions; the camera takes good photos in natural light. I also use my smartphone as an FM player. The battery lasts for a day of active use. I was very pleased with the price-quality ratio - a perfectly working and at the same time budget model. Exactly what I needed!

    Advantages:

    Lightweight, good sensor, enough functions.

    Flaws:

Battery capacity lasts for 1 day

After my daughter lost her phone again, I bought her a LEXAND Mini LPH7 Smarty smartphone. Compact, fits well in a child's hand, and takes up little space in a school backpack. The plastic is of high quality, the 2.45 diagonal is small, but the information is clearly visible. The amount of memory both RAM and built-in is decent for such a “baby”, but I still expanded it to 32 GB. The battery has a small capacity, but still lasts for a day. The camera takes pretty good pictures, especially in good light. Plays videos and music, my daughter loves to listen.

    Advantages:

    Lightweight, comfortable, functional.

    Flaws:

I liked the smartphone for its lightness and pleasant unusual design. The touch screen is very easy to press, but it is sometimes difficult for your thumbs to hit the desired letter. The audibility of the phone is simply excellent. The presence of a dual-core processor is a huge plus, due to which the phone practically does not freeze. The amount of built-in memory is not so small, 4 GB. Plus you can use a flash drive. Even with a small battery, it can work for quite a long time. Only the camera quality is not very good, otherwise everything is fine. This phone is an excellent option for those who want to purchase an unusual smartphone at an attractive price.

    Advantages:

Small and compact size, with many functions of a modern smartphone

    Flaws:

LEXAND Mini LPH7 Smarty captivated me with its appearance and compactness. I was very impressed with the smartphone! It is really very light and comfortable. I was also pleased with the operating system; it has the fourth Android installed. It works quite quickly, the processor is fast, the battery charge lasts for a day. It contains all the necessary applications and functions, and there is also a camera, of course, even two of 2.0 and 0.3 megapixels. After the purchase, I immediately installed a 32GB memory card. It’s convenient that the smartphone supports cards with such a capacity.

    Advantages:

Design, lightweight, compact, supports memory cards up to 32GB, fast in operation.

    Flaws:

It’s not convenient to type SMS in vertical orientation; you need to set the screen to auto-rotate in the settings

Simple, light and comfortable, with all the modern bells and whistles.

    Advantages:

An excellent model for those who need a compact phone - it doesn’t take up much space in your pocket and doesn’t attract attention. The processor is good for such a small phone - two cores, so it's fast. There is a slot for a memory card, but the phone itself has 4 gigs - enough for music and photos. The camera is not the strongest, but for everyday photos you don’t need more. The only thing that was a little disappointing was that I had to change my SIM card to a micro SIM card, but this is my personal quibble, since now all phones come out with such slots. The battery is not very capacious, but lasts long enough for Android.

I was looking for a smartphone for myself mainly for calls and as a player, but with a touch screen. The model turned out to be very light, besides, the design is stylish and the smart device fits well in the hand. It runs on a dual-core processor, so the system runs smoothly. Just as a nice bonus - the camera, the quality of the pictures is quite tolerable! The battery charge lasts for the whole day, I mostly listen to music with the backlight off or talk on the phone. In general, there are no complaints; the smartphone is worth the money.

    Advantages:

    Lightweight, compact, inexpensive.

    Flaws:

    There are no disadvantages.

I've been looking for something neat on Android for a long time.
There are problems with the design, but as they say, find something better!
    I hope it sticks.

    Advantages:

Normal Android. Small size and weight. Quite loud speaker. Searches for satellites quickly and without problems (probably due to the integrated use of GPS + GloNaS). The SIM card and flash drive are installed without removing the battery, which is very convenient. A 3.5" jack under the ears is a very correct solution, compared to the combined miniUSB as in the LPH1.

    Flaws:

    1. The battery is frankly weak and the most unpleasant thing is that it is not yet possible to buy a spare one. For example, WoT Blitz will be installed immediately for testing, and downloading the b cache over WiFi followed by unpacking (almost an hour) consumed the charge to almost 60% + 1 battle with preliminary settings and only 51% remained. In general, it is impossible to play on it - you can’t see the picture behind your fingers))).
After the "tanks" there were a couple of calls (about 10 minutes) and about an hour of music - the battery went to zero. But she’s not “swayed” yet, I hope it will be a little better.
    2. Extended microUSB cable. The standard one doesn't reach it. The jamb is clearly at the design stage, solved in a standard way. Since I’m not going to carry the cable with me, I’ll have to “cut it” everywhere. Very uncomfortable! Perhaps I’ll spit on the warranty and slightly sharpen the edge of the case.
    3. The design of the case is made in the form of a bar of soap, but if it had been made more austere, with a slight rounding, the device would have looked like a solid and expensive model, but also a pop one.
    4. Removing the cover is quite a problem, it sits very tightly.
    5. Power button to the top! You grab it and accidentally squeeze it. At first I set the end call to the power button, but I had to remove it and poke it at the screen.
    6. It’s difficult to insert a memory card - you can’t reach it with your finger - you have to use a pencil
I wish the kit also included a bumper and a film for the screen - it’s still not standard!

I bought this smartphone about a couple of weeks ago. At first I was surprised by the presence of a large number of functions in such a “baby”. It's not expensive, so I decided to buy it and use it. So far, he hasn't disappointed me. The battery lasts a long time and works quickly (the dual-core processor does its job). Internet access, video, music, calls: I use this without any problems, I was pleased that the package also included headphones. This was also a plus for me. I recommend it.

    Advantages:

Compact size, dual core processor, has all the necessary functions.

Great phone. I bought it and am glad. Not suitable for a child - inconvenient. I really like carrying it in my pocket and speaking on it. Well, plus I occasionally use the functions of my smartphone if necessary.

The advantage of this phone is its miniature size. Naturally, it’s easier to play and type on a laptop and everything, everything, everything, but I don’t carry a laptop with me, and I don’t want to carry a spade phone either. On my phone, 98% of the time I use the “carry in my pocket” function and 2% of the time the “talk” function, and only 0.1% of the time I poke my fingers at it. So it performs 99.9% of the required functions super-excellently, but for the sake of 0.1% you can endure it.

This is a complete analogue of the Elephone Q (with the exception of very minor changes in the software), about which there are many reviews, pranks, videos and information on the Internet.

    Advantages:

SIZE (sorry for the caps, but it’s SIZE in capital letters), it’s miniature and fits perfectly in your pocket. Produces a WOW effect for everyone who sees it.
    Works.
The battery lasts a long time (obviously more than a day) if used as a phone.
The voice quality during calls is good, a solid 4.
A full-fledged Android, even toys are possible (but not necessary).
There is no heaps of pre-installed advertising junk.
The camera photographs an A4 sheet of paper and even the text is legible.

    Flaws:

The USB connector is recessed deep. A mini-USB cable with a long plug (1mm longer than the standard one) is required. Of my wires, only 1 out of 5 came up.
The included USB cable only works for charging and does not connect to a computer.
There is no LED, ala flashlight.
The interface is not fully optimized for a small screen (the SMS application in particular is annoying).
I would like a higher resolution, because... I see pixels.
Old time zones have been installed (Moscow still lives in GMT+4).

In general, the device is very decent, despite the large list of shortcomings, some of which can be solved by updating. An additional precipitate was the fact that I had to take it to the service center - I was still waiting for the device to “shake up” the battery, but after several times, when in front of my eyes the mobile cut off after a couple of hours at 70%-80% of the charge (it didn’t stop working, it just went dead) , picked up the tester and measured what was happening with the battery. And I didn’t like the picture - a full battery has 4.35V, but a maximally discharged one (it never happened below 20%, the phone turned off) did not even have 3.4V. When it was switched off it was usually 2.8-3V. I hope it's just me who has a charging glitch. Moreover, there were 2 cases when the phone worked for almost 2 days.
Also, Yandex cards 3.82 almost did not allow the phone to charge, and when I updated it to version 5, it began to slowly discharge. The charging in the cigarette lighter is quite powerful and works well with 8x64bit tablets running the same version 5 of Yandex cards.

    Advantages:

Neat size, full-fledged smart device, if not loaded with applications, can last up to 2 days. Despite 512M RAM, even heavy applications can be launched.

    Flaws:

    1. Apparently, due to the screen resolution, some programs do not work, and some do not work entirely correctly.
    2. Sometimes 2 cores are not enough, even the interface sometimes slows down, although some 3D toys are simply surprising in their smoothness.
3.Not very sensitive touch. Requires a confident touch. Can be annoying when working with maps.
4.Recessed connector. I had to cut the cables everywhere to ensure reliable charging.
    5. When importing, some of the contacts doubled, it was ~700, it became 1228. I have no idea how to figure it out.
    6. Reading SMS is inconvenient (and even more so when typing!) And there is so little space for displaying information, so they have eaten up a lot of useful space with indents and other nonsense. I bought an additional BT keyboard, now there is more space on the screen, but still only short SMS messages fit entirely on the screen.
7.No flashlight and mediocre camera, no AF. As a result, there is no macro, and at work you have to take a lot of barcodes and other symbols, but you can’t run around warehouses with a DSLR, and there are few places where it will fit.
8.The power button is on the side, but you need to go up! It turns on all the time in jeans.
9.One SIM card and one micro.
    10.No OTG.

This smartphone is perfect for people who want a small, light phone with all the necessary functions.

    Advantages:

    1) Fast interface, due to the fact that the small screen and processor power are more than enough to draw everything 2) the Play Market has a large selection of different applications 3) Very light and small, does not get in the way in your pocket 4) The presence of a front camera.

Water got in from the rain through the holes in the cover, dead.
I'm thinking about repairing it or buying another one, instead I bought an Asus at the same price with a 4.5 screen, in general it's more pleasant to use and the sound is soft when talking.
Bottom line, if you need a phone and a player in your pocket + ultra-mobile navigation, you can buy it, but the earpiece is unimportant - after using it for 2 weeks, it started to creak.
Sounds like Samsung (SMS) have their own interface, I didn’t notice any brakes.

    Advantages:

    Size, GPS

    Flaws:

The external speaker, the battery, the screen went dark during a conversation and did not show, it was impossible to hang up - I decided to use the off button. When using the player and GPS tracker at the same time... the voice message turned off the music... (it doesn’t turn off in other phones)
It is difficult to type text; for the Internet it is only suitable for reading.

For a long time I was looking for a tiny android, because I needed to launch an arrow and hang it on the car window. What was needed was a small phone and here it was. This is a miracle, a full-fledged Android device with GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. The keyboard is too small, but this is understandable; you can’t draw a big one on such a screen. I had to poke several times to correct the entered text. But it’s tolerable, since I just needed to set it up once and not touch it. So, as a small device, for some special applications it’s simply an ideal solution. Yes, and I’ll also note the loud sound of the speaker.

    Advantages:

    Size, GPS, Android

    Flaws:

For normal use it is too small to type something on the keyboard.

I am familiar with the Lexand brand firsthand and have been for quite some time, so when I decided to buy myself a new smartphone, I purchased this brand without hesitation. I was looking for an inexpensive but functional model. Lexand mini LPH7 Smart is exactly what I need. Its big plus is its size; the smartphone is very light, small, which is very convenient, and also does not take up much space. It is even considered to be the lightest smartphone in the world. The display is not large, only 2.45" inches, but the image is clear, everything is visible...

    Advantages:

Small in size, affordable price, supports memory cards up to 32 GB, dual-core processor, Android.

  • Smartphones with large screens will no longer surprise anyone. They are presented in a wide range. However, buyers consider them faceless. The fact is that modern gadgets are practically no different from each other in design. Those who want to stand out from the crowd are encouraged to pay attention to the Lexand LPH1 Mini model, a review of which will be presented in this article. The device is a simple “dialer”. It is not equipped with any technological innovations. However, this phone can be called exclusive. What is its peculiarity? In miniature. The dimensions of the device are very small - approximately the same as lighters produced by Zippo. Against the backdrop of huge gadgets, this simple model stands out brightly. In addition to the size, buyers are attracted by the original design and low price. At retail, the phone sells for an average of one thousand rubles. What does the manufacturer offer in such a small device? Let's figure it out.

Lexand LPH1 Mini. Overview of main characteristics

We need to start a brief overview of the characteristics with the advantages of this model. This includes dimensions. The phone is quite light. Its weight is only 75 g. Compared to smartphones, the weight of which starts at 120 g, the device seems like just fluff. Its miniature size is also evidenced by the width and height of the case - 39 × 93 mm. But the same cannot be said about the thickness. The phone turned out to be quite thick - 15 mm.

But even despite these dimensions, the Lexand LPH1 Mini has a display with a decent diagonal for push-button models. It is 1.44 inches on the phone. The matrix is simple - TFT. It has certain disadvantages, but for a small screen its characteristics are quite sufficient.

The SpreadTrum brand chip is responsible for the phone's performance. The model with index 6531 copes well with all the assigned tasks. The device is designed to work with two SIM cards. The built-in memory can be increased using an external drive. The phone supports flash drives up to 32 GB. The manufacturer has provided a wireless Bluetooth module and a USB interface. Unfortunately, this phone model does not provide the ability to connect to the Internet. The device does not have a Wi-Fi module or 3G.

    Equipment

So, let's get started with the review of the Lexand LPH1 Mini phone. Before we look at the characteristics of the device in detail, let’s study what the manufacturer offers in the kit. The packaging box looks attractive. Of course, there is nothing special in its design, but a certain style is still visible. Depending on the color of the device itself, the box is designed in different colors - light gray or sunny yellow. There is a “window” on the front panel through which you can view the phone without taking it out of the package. Its shape is original - the lower part is arched. This detail emphasizes the overall design style, as if fitting into the circles that diverge from the inscription. The manufacturer decided to focus on small sizes, so they used the name “Mini Phone” on the box. The company logo appears above the window. And at the bottom of the packaging the advertising slogan is used: “The style of your communication.” The phone's capabilities are presented in the form of icons on the side. More detailed information is printed on the back panel. Here you can see the characteristics and equipment. Detailed information about the manufacturer and importer with addresses is also provided.

Here's what's in the box with the Lexand LPH1 Mini mobile phone:

    • Instructions. It is printed on plain paper and folded several times. There are illustrations, but they are of poor quality.
    • Warranty card with information about technical support and service providers in Russian.
    • The network charger is 0.5 A. According to users, the adapter is quite weak.
    • Headphones and adapter. The catch lies in the implemented mini-USB plug. There is no button on the headphones that you can use to answer calls. There is also no left or right designation. Sound quality is low. There are no additional settings provided, so you won’t be able to fix the situation manually. The only thing you can use the included headphones for is when talking on the phone in a noisy place.
    • The USB cable is in mini format, although the instructions for the Lexand LPH1 Mini indicate the micro type. It is important to pay attention to this typo when purchasing, as an error in the information can confuse the buyer.

Although the device supports working with memory cards, it is not included in the box. In principle, this is not considered a significant disadvantage, since the price of the phone is record low. Those who do not have enough built-in storage will have to purchase a flash drive themselves.

    Design

Rational volume is the main advantage of the Lexand LPH1 Mini mobile phone. The manufacturer did a great job in this regard. Slots for full-size SIM cards are located in the battery compartment. In order to access them, you will have to turn off the phone and remove the battery. A slot for a memory card is also located here. Everything is quite compact, the free space is used rationally.

The body parts are made of a single layer of metal. The battery cover is made of the same material. Users have no complaints about durability. The thickness of the metal sheet is 0.5 mm. The back cover is equipped with a good lock, so even over time it is fixed securely. The assembly of Lexand LPH1 Mini is of high quality, there are no gaps. When pressed, the panels do not bend. However, there are also complaints about the case. Glossy surfaces get dirty quickly. During use, scratches form on them.

The case has a socket for connecting a charger. Connector format - 2.5 mm. At the top of the phone, the designers have provided a hole through which you can insert a cord. Thanks to it, many users attach the device to their keys as a key fob. However, do not forget that this can lead to scratches on the case.

This model does not provide protection against dust and water. The manufacturer even abandoned the standard rubberized layer.

    Design

The Lexand LPH1 Mini mobile phone is available for sale in three colors - brown, white and black. Each of these examples features chrome inserts. Externally, the device looks like a children's toy. At first glance it is difficult to determine that it is made of metal. Even chrome surfaces look like painted plastic.

The design of the phone can hardly be called outstanding, but the style is clearly visible. The advantage, according to buyers, is that the manufacturer has not oversaturated the case with elements. There are no stickers or pictures, which allows us to call the design of the Lexand LPH1 Mini laconic. And as statistics show, the modern user likes it.

The front panel of the phone is framed by a chrome frame, which has not worn out over time, but is quite brand new. Due to the fact that the body is slightly concave on the sides, it is convenient to use. There is no need to be afraid that the device will accidentally jump out of your hands. The lower part of the body has a rounded shape. At the top these lines are repeated, but with less bending. This allows the user to determine by touch where the bottom of the phone is, which is certainly convenient.

    Control

The Lexand LPH1 Mini mobile phone is equipped with a mechanical keyboard. It is through it that control is carried out. All functions are standard; the manufacturer did not use any new products.

The panel with soft keys is typical for push-button devices. Round joystick in the center. Designed for five positions. On either side of it there are buttons for quick access to certain menu options and reset/receive (on SIM 1 and SIM 2) calls.

The vertical rows of the number pad are separated by arched lines, which are made according to the principle of the letter X. The keys themselves are not very comfortable. There are no bulges or other landmarks that help visually identify the buttons. However, users claim that after several days of using the phone, the necessary keys are quickly and easily found.

In practice, using the joystick turned out to be much more difficult. You only have to press the arrows with your fingernail. Users also had comments regarding the backlighting of the keys. Of course, it exists, but the level of uniformity is clearly poor. On some buttons, it is impossible to see the alphabetic characters in the dark.

    Display

What display is installed in the Lexand LPH1 Mini phone? The characteristics, as for a budget employee, can be considered decent. Its diagonal in centimeters is almost 4 (3.66) cm. For such a small device it is quite acceptable. The maximum screen resolution is 144 × 176 pixels. But this in no way indicates poor image quality. The picture is reproduced perfectly, all elements are clearly visible. Color rendition is realistic. The viewing angles are wide. The image is not distorted when tilted horizontally. A slight change in colors is noticeable only during vertical turns.

Also a significant advantage is the brightness level. Its range is more than enough to work outdoors in sunny weather. There are no glares or reflections. Reading the text is quite comfortable. It displays smoothly and clearly on the screen.

    Camera

Now let's talk about the weaknesses of the Lexand LPH1 Mini. The camera's characteristics definitely do not meet modern requirements. Users believe that it is installed in this device, so to speak, for show. You must understand that this model is a means of communication, not a camera phone. It’s quite difficult to disagree with this, especially considering the cost of the phone. However, there are still moments during which it is important to have a device with a good camera. In such situations, you should not rely on the capabilities of this model.

The optics characteristics are quite weak. The manufacturer installed a sensor with a minimum resolution of only 0.3 megapixels. What can you say about the quality of pictures taken with the Lexand LPH1 Mini phone? They are unclear, there is blurriness, and there is no detail to speak of at all. In a word - the quality is terrible. In the phone settings there is a function for changing the shooting format. Maximum resolution - 1280 × 960 px. But you shouldn't count on image improvement. With this setting, the frame turns out even worse than with a low resolution. Recording a high-quality video is also an impossible task. Shooting is carried out in VGA format.

A more or less passable photograph can be taken at a distance of no more than 1.5 m from the object. To do this, select the “close-up” mode in the camera menu. Unfortunately, this is the only plus of all the minuses of optics.

    Multimedia

As such, the Lexand LPH1 Mini does not have the operating system that smartphone owners are accustomed to. The menu is vaguely similar to the one used in old Samsung devices. The clock appears on the lock screen. They are duplicated on the desktop after unlocking. On the top service line there is a charge indicator, and there is also a cellular network signal icon.

The menu on the screen looks quite nice. Items are displayed in a structured list. There is a division into sections. It is not possible to choose to display application shortcuts using icons, since the manufacturer abandoned this solution, preferring text. Multimedia capabilities of Lexand LPH1 Mini are at the entry level. The advantages include the presence of FM radio, a high-quality voice recorder application and a file manager, which is very convenient to use.

There is no point in comparing this model with smartphones, since its functionality is limited. However, it is not at all different from the same simple “dialers”. Those who like to play will not like this device; it only has one game, “Snake,” installed. But you can read e-books on it. The application for this is already built into the device. There is also a video player that supports many common formats.

    Battery

The situation with the battery for Lexand LPH1 Mini is also interesting. It has a metal body. It can be inserted into the compartment even upside down, but you won’t be able to turn on the phone because there is no power. Battery capacity is 400 milliamps per hour. The manufacturer was unable to install a more powerful element in such a tiny case. Modern technologies, of course, make it possible to reduce the battery as much as possible without losing capacity, but in a device costing a thousand rubles such a solution is impractical.

What battery life can you expect? If you believe the manufacturer, the operating time in standby mode will be about 100 hours. Continuous conversation will drain the battery in 4 hours. In combined mode, the phone will easily work for three days, and if you reduce the load, then all five.

Lexand LPH1 Mini phone. Instructions for using the menu

When you turn on the device for the first time, you will need to set the date. Time can be set in two formats: PM and AM. After these steps, the phone is completely ready for use. It is recommended to start interacting with him by studying the menu. It consists of the following points:

    • Contacts. The phone book is presented as a list. If necessary, you can separately view the subscribers that are saved on the first SIM card and on the second. Users really liked the ability to export/import contacts.
    • Messages. This section provides access to received notifications. You can also write a message here. There are quick response templates. The user can type his own text and create an individual template. Messages are protected by setting a password.
    • Call log. Has four sub-items. The first displays missed calls, the second displays dialed calls, the third displays rejected calls, and the fourth displays received calls. There is a time counter and the ability to delete all information in one motion.
    • File Manager. An application that allows you to view all files stored both on external media and in the phone’s memory.
    • Tools. It combines applications such as a calculator, Bluetooth, e-book, reminders/notes, and calendar.
    • Profiles. You can select sound settings on your phone: vibration only, normal, outdoors, no sound. The menu provides the ability to change the profile name, select the melody and volume, sound when turned on, and signal type.
    • Settings. Here the user can: activate/deactivate SIM cards, bar calls, enable call forwarding, set the time, change the date, select a language, configure quick access buttons, etc.

In order to connect your phone to your computer, you need to take a mini-USB cable. After inserting the plugs into the connector, select “Removable media” and confirm the action by clicking “Ok”.

Setting up the sound on your phone is easy. To do this you will need to go to the menu. Go to the “Profiles” item. In it, find the “Options” tab. From there, go to “Settings” → “Adjust volume”. By default, the volume is set to the maximum value - 15. If necessary, it can be reduced by pressing the joystick arrows.

To install music for the call, you need to do the following manipulations. Go to the menu. Then find the “Multimedia” item. From there, go to “Audio”. Select the track you like and click “Set as ringtone”.

    Special abilities

Many users in reviews of Lexand LPH1 Mini ask about special codes. What is it about? The fact is that the developers came up with special numerical combinations, by typing which on your phone you can perform certain actions:

    • In order to find out all the information about the device, you will need to dial the code ####1111#. Data about testing color rendering, backlighting, correct operation of the wireless module, camera, and so on will appear on the screen.
    • In order to reset all user settings, you need to dial a simple combination - 1234.

Among the identical sensory bars that have flooded the market, it has become difficult to notice something extraordinary and beyond the scope. The Mini LPH7 Smarty product from LEXAND is a mini-smartphone that does not make a revolution or is innovative, but at first glance it attracts attention.

Its peculiarity is its size. The device looks more like an unusually large smartwatch than a phone. It’s just that it has full-fledged Android 4.4 KitKat on board.

Of course, this smartphone is primarily interesting for its ergonomics, but the operating experience promised to be interesting not only for that reason. Personally, after the first look at the Mini LPH7 Smarty, I immediately became interested in what familiar applications would look like on such a tiny screen? Does everything work, does it start, how realistic is it to use them in life?

    Equipment LEXAND Mini LPH7 Smarty

The smartphone is packed in a compact cardboard box. It is curious that on the front side of the cover the LPH7 is depicted in its natural size. That is, if you put a “live” device next to it, it will exactly match the picture.

The kit includes headphones, a charger and a microUSB cable. It is better not to lose the latter, since the cord has a specific long plug. The microUSB connector on the phone is significantly recessed into the body, so not every cable will fit.

The battery is removable and is also included in the box. We'll talk about its capacity and autonomy later.

    Appearance and ergonomics

LEXAND Mini LPH7 Smarty is incredibly small even for a simple phone. Try taking a ruler and drawing a 9x4 cm rectangle on paper. This way you can roughly estimate the dimensions. It would be even better to give an example with a pocket for a lighter in jeans. A mini-smartphone easily fits almost completely into it!

The case materials leave much to be desired. Because of the glossy plastic, the phone tends to slip out of your hands (like soap, honestly). But the assembly is acceptable, despite the removable battery. The buttons do not wobble, nothing is loose.

The keys under the screen are touch sensitive (three standard for Android), and there is a microphone right there.

There is a speaker at the back. The camera, alas, does not have a flash. It's a pity, because the flash could be used as a flashlight. For such a small smartphone this is a very relevant feature.

    Display

Due to its dimensions, the display size is only 2.45″. Regular TFT, capacitive. Viewing angles are so-so. Resolution 432x240.

Such a tiny screen would be small even for a push-button phone, let alone a touchscreen smartphone. But don’t forget that this is a kind of unique mini-smartphone, which means it’s possible (or necessary?) to adapt.

The screen responds well to touches, the interface elements are large, and the font in the settings can also be increased.

As for typing messages, it is more or less possible to do this only in horizontal mode. Despite decent sensitivity, hitting such small keys is only possible with a stylus. However, this is a small problem. By default, there is a good keyboard with prediction; you can simply select the desired words by tapping. And don't forget about Google's excellent voice input.

    Operating system and specifications

The smartphone runs Android 4.4. That is, we actually have a full-fledged mobile device on Android, which means you can install applications, work with documents, and so on. The system scales to fit this screen size. There are, however, some nuances in the display when not all the text fits into a given area, but overall it’s still not bad.

This is also largely due to the perfectly adapted shell. The phone can be used right out of the box. You don’t have to look for special software or set up work.

You can’t look at the technical characteristics of the LEXAND Mini LPH7 Smarty without sadness. However, this is the case with almost all budget smartphone options. The dual-core MediaTek MT6572 coupled with the Mali-400 MP video processor is not the worst option, but everything is spoiled by the amount of RAM. Total 512 MB. Catastrophically few, both on paper and in practice. Applications hardly hang in the background, and among the pre-installed programs there is Clean Master, which, it seems to me, only slows down the work even more. I turned it off. There is still a separate utility to free up memory.

I am glad that the interface works smoothly and does not slow down. If you do not load your smartphone with serious programs and refuse multitasking, then it will cope with most of the tasks of the average user.

The smartphone has 4 GB of internal memory, but you can install a microSD memory card up to 32 GB.

    Connection

Since the LEXAND Mini LPH7 Smarty is still a smartphone, it simply could not lack modern interfaces. There is Wi-Fi 802.11g, Bluetooth 4.0, 3G, and even GPS. There was no place for LTE only.

The smartphone catches the mobile network perfectly. You won't be left without the Internet. There is only one SIM card, micro SIM. It’s a pity, but apparently a second slot simply wouldn’t fit into such a case.

    Camera and multimedia

The 2 MP camera is installed just for show. There is no need to talk about any quality. And it’s probably stupid to expect more from such a device. Lighting plays a decisive role. In good light you can get a passable photo. Another plus is the presence of a front camera. You will not be deprived of video calls.

I was pleasantly surprised by the multimedia part. In addition to an excellent volume reserve, the smartphone can be used as a player. There are two connections to choose from: 3.5 mm and Bluetooth. There is FM radio.

    Autonomy

In fact, the main problem during the operation of the LEXAND Mini LPH7 Smarty was not even the size, but the battery, which is definitely not enough for active work. Only 650 mAh, very little.

However, you are unlikely to use such a smartphone “to its fullest”, but for calls and periodically checking the bus in Yandex.Transport and a music player will be enough for a day.

In standby mode, unfortunately, the battery also melts before our eyes. Even if you don’t use your phone, after three or four days you will still have to charge it.

    conclusions

Lexand Mini LPH7 Smarty is a very unusual tiny smartphone that reverses the trend of smartphones growing in size: instead of a spade-shaped 5.5-6 inches, it's an incredible 2.5″. Few people will decide to buy it as a main phone, but it will play the role of an additional, backup dialer in the wings with a bang. As a bonus, it will help you get online if something happens. Small, unnoticeable, does not get in the way in your pocket or bag. Due to its size, you will hardly feel it.

You can come up with many use cases. For example, a Wi-Fi hotspot, why not? Or a DVR (for this purpose, a 2 MP camera may be enough). As an advanced 32 GB flash drive on Android - also nothing. Sports tracker (there is a built-in Pedometer application) or mp3 player.

The only let down in the LEXAND Mini LPH7 Smarty is its autonomy. But such a mini-smartphone still has no competitors. So if you want a unique phone with the functions of a full-fledged smartphone, the choice is obvious.

    Pros:

    • full Android 4.4 KitKat
    • two cameras
    • presence of a slot for a memory card
    • good sound
    • Manufacturer support (updates coming out)

    Minuses:

    • glossy case
    • recessed microUSB connector
    • low autonomy

    Prices in online stores

It is possible to display similar models if this one is not in the catalog for your region.

We often complain that the size of mobile devices is growing along with the diagonal of their displays. And it’s becoming increasingly difficult to find a compact smartphone with adequate specifications on sale. And the very concept of compactness has blurred. Nowadays, the prefix “mini” in the name is given to models with display diagonals of 5.0" and even 5.2" (as an example).

In our mobile guide (which, by the way, is planned to be updated soon), we carefully selected the most interesting smartphones based on the width of the case. The count there was in millimeters, and sometimes even in tenths. Here it’s 68.7 mm, and here it’s 66.6 mm with the same screen diagonal – what a compact device! And it’s true, in today’s times – very much so.

    advertising

What if the smartphone is not two millimeters narrower, but two centimeters narrower? Yes, you heard right. This is exactly the solution that a domestic manufacturer recently released. He mainly specializes in branding car navigators. But occasionally it pleases us with other mobile devices.

And recently, users were presented with a new product – the LEXAND Mini LPH7 Smarty smartphone. This is no less than the most compact Android smartphone on the market with dimensions of 43 x 90 x 12 mm.

Although what are these complicated names? LEXAND Micro would have been called something else, it would have been better.

    advertising

It is clear that such a decision could hardly do without compromises. But the ability to launch WhatsApp, watch a YouTube video, or easily load a page in mobile Chrome on a device of this size that can also make calls will sound interesting to many. Surely some users are already so tired of the huge “shovels” that they are ready to go to the other extreme. The question, as always, is implementation. And if LEXAND has created a truly convenient device without a lot of serious compromises, then it will be a success.

How it turned out in the end will be determined by the test results.

“We will take a different path” - it is very likely that this very phrase, a famous character, was taken as a basis by the Russian company Leksand Laboratory in the production of its mobile phones.

And let's go. Indeed, while most mobile phone manufacturers are following the path of increasing technical characteristics, Lexand has trodden the path to the user in a different way. Two years ago, the company introduced its first mini-phone, barely larger than a regular lighter. It was an ordinary push-button dialer. The idea was so successful that several more similar models followed. The guys from Lexand didn’t rest on their laurels and decided to make the same minimal-sized smartphone.

And they did. The model is called LEXAND Mini LPH7 Smarty. The smartphone comes in a small cardboard box. In addition to the gadget itself, the box contains: a USB cable with charging, headphones, a warranty card and instructions. There is nothing more to add here - the equipment is standard.

At first, when you take the LEXAND Mini LPH7 Smarty smarty in your hand, you get the impression that this is some kind of trinket that has nothing in common with a modern mobile gadget. However, it is a smartphone. A very small smartphone. Although it is fairer to call it miniature, its dimensions are: 90x43x12 mm, with a weight of only 55g. You can easily hide it in a clenched fist. Just an illusionist's dream, at least show the kids tricks with him. "What's that behind your ear? Yeah, a smartphone!" - the children will be delighted. And not just children. However, we digress.

Now let's look at the baby. The smartphone has a streamlined shape and is completely devoid of sharp edges and corners. It's comfortable to hold in your hand, although the body is a little slippery due to the glossy finish, which quickly becomes covered with fingerprints. The material used is black plastic, only a thin edging has a silver coating that imitates metal. In general, in terms of design, the LEXAND Mini LPH7 Smarty looks very simple, which is generally understandable; you shouldn’t expect any frills in terms of appearance from a budget gadget. But the fact that the case is very well assembled was a pleasant surprise. There are no creaks, crunches, or other unpleasant moments in using any device. A good example is the removable back cover, which sits like a glove on the body and is very difficult to remove.

Almost the entire front part is covered with glass. Part of the glass is given over to the side frames, both top and bottom, right and left, so theoretically the display could be even slightly larger, but all of them would be larger if these frames were smaller. But, as they say, “we have what we have.” And we have a 2.45-inch display with a resolution of 240x432 pixels. This is a budget TFT TN matrix. You shouldn’t expect an outstanding picture from such a display, but you can’t call it completely bad either – it’s quite tolerable to the eye. Perhaps there is not enough contrast. Viewing angles are small, although horizontally they are decent for comfortable viewing. But the sensor itself, which supports two clicks at the same time, responds adequately to these same clicks.

A very important point of any smartphone is the brightness of the display, or rather the brightness reserve. The lexand mini lph7 smarty is in perfect order with this. There is enough brightness even in natural street lighting.

Above the display there is a small speaker and a camera peephole with a resolution of 0.3 megapixels. Below the display are three touch keys, backlit in white.

Controls and connectors are located on all sides of the smartphone: on the right is the power button, on the left is a paired volume button, on top is a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and on the bottom is a microUSB connector. Slots for microSIM and microSD are also located on the sides, but to access them you need to remove the back panel.

On the back there is a speaker, and, of course, like any smartphone, a camera. True, the resolution of the main camera is only 2 megapixels, with all the ensuing consequences. You can see the consequences below. The quality of photographs must be taken seriously - it is difficult to install a powerful camera module in such a body, and frankly speaking, such a task was not intended.

The smartphone runs Android 4.4 Kit Kat. The manufacturer adjusted the interface to the size of the display: application icons are quite large. Nine application icons can be displayed on desktops, plus three icons at the bottom. With fewer icons, widgets can be displayed on the desktop. Simply put, everything is the same as in another regular smartphone with a larger display. Although, in applications where it is necessary to use the keyboard, you have to use dexterity - the keyboard is small, and there is a high probability of erroneous presses. Speaking of applications. There are a few preinstalled ones - that’s good; the manufacturer did not load the little ones. Noteworthy are clean master, an application for cleaning RAM, and an application with the funny name pedometer. Pedometer allows you to count the steps taken, the distance traveled and the number of calories burned - that is, LEXAND Mini LPH7 Smarty can act as the newfangled wearable gadgets of fitness trackers.

The smartphone is powered by a dual-core MediaTek MT6572 processor with a clock frequency of 1 GHz and a Mali-400 video chip. The volume of built-in memory is 4 GB, RAM is 512 MB. The hardware performance is of course average, but for everyday use of a smartphone, for example, for not very resource-intensive applications such as whatsapp, instagram is quite enough. The interface works smoothly, without any brakes. What more could you want from a baby like this? It’s clear that no one will buy such a smartphone for powerful toys. It’s unlikely that anyone would think of playing games on such a small screen. The smartphone works in networks: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth 4.0, 3G, GPS, A-GPS.

The battery has a capacity of 650 mAh. Of course a little. If you do not use 3G wireless networks and Wi-Fi or GPS with an average number of calls, then the charge will last from morning to evening. By the way, about calls. The communication quality of such a baby is quite decent, the interlocutor can be heard without problems.

It’s not for nothing that we touched on the topic of children at the beginning of the review. LEXAND Mini LPH7 Smarty is a great gadget for a child. It is most likely necessary to introduce children to modern technologies using such simple and inexpensive smartphones. However, lexand mini lph7 smarty is also suitable for an adult. Most likely, adults will not use it as a main mobile gadget, but it will be very suitable as a second handset. It can also be used as a cool gift.
