The best wireless headset. Budget Bluetooth alternative headphones. It is best to choose wireless headphones based on the type of use

If you drive a lot and want to stay connected all the time, then Bluetooth headsets become not a luxury, but a necessary thing in the household. Nowadays there are a large number of wireless headsets on the market, among which it is very difficult to find the right one for you. Like smartphones, Bluetooth headsets have both strengths and weaknesses. Some produce clear, clearly audible sounds, others have a high-capacity battery, others do an excellent job of eliminating noise, and station wagons, which have no obvious shortcomings, have a high price. To make it easier for you to choose the right device, we have compiled a list of the best Bluetooth headsets of 2016, without obvious weaknesses.

Plantronics Voyager Edge is one of the most interesting Bluetooth headsets of recent times, boasting excellent sound quality, long battery life, and good noise cancellation. You can use Plantronics Voyager Edge in almost any environment, even very noisy ones, and the other person will hear you perfectly. Plus, the gadget has a well-thought-out design, several built-in sensors and supports voice commands, and comes with a charging stand.

The Jabra Eclipse wireless headset is the epitome of elegance and style, supporting HD audio and working with two devices simultaneously. Another big advantage of the device is that it supports over-the-air software updates. To fully unleash all the capabilities of Jabra Eclipse, it is advisable to install the free Jabra Assist application on your smartphone, and the undoubted advantage of the gadget is full support for Siri out of the box. The headset is charged from the included docking station in the form of an improvised cradle; according to the developer, a fully charged battery lasts for 3 hours.

Style and invisibility, this is the principle of the Moto Hint + Bluetooth headset. This second generation of the device, compared to its predecessor, boasts a higher maximum volume and high-quality speech transmission, without losing its unique style.

The Jawbone Era headset looks very unusual and original, striking against the background of faceless competitors made like a carbon copy. The device boasts good sound quality and advanced noise cancellation, but compared to the Plantronics Voyager Edge, which can be purchased for about the same price, speech does not sound as clear. Also, some people may have complaints about the battery, the capacity of which may sometimes be insufficient.

Sennheiser Presence Basic is the most expensive headset on our list; it seems that you have to pay extra because of the well-promoted Sennheiser brand, which has long become synonymous with high-quality sound. The device boasts excellent sound quality and a large capacity battery. This Bluetooth headset definitely sounds no worse than the reference Plantronics Voyage Edge.

Motorola Boom is a nice headset, almost invisible from the outside, very comfortable to wear on the ear, at a very attractive price. The device produces good quality sound, has a fairly capacious battery, and a fairly average noise reduction system.

Finally, the cheapest wireless headset on our list, the Plantronics Explorer 500, has fairly average performance and unremarkable sound. However, they do their job properly, maintaining a stable wireless connection with the smartphone, filtering noise well and being quite loud.

Bluetooth headphones are a very convenient thing. First of all, because they do not have wires that wear out. We decided to collect the most interesting headphone models and talk about them.

Headphones with record battery life - up to 40 hours. Sound insulation is weak, but this did not affect the sound quality: the bass, mids, and highs are wonderful. DR-BTN200 is equipped with a module, thanks to which it takes less than a second to connect to a new device.

Quite nice and comfortable headphones with mediocre sound - due to poor sound insulation. The bass in them is almost inaudible, and the upper and mid frequencies are distorted. This is especially noticeable at high volumes.

"Gags" with quite decent sound. Batteries are placed inside the housings with speakers, so Rockaway is slightly larger than ordinary plugs, although they weigh only ten grams. The sound is loud and honest, there is enough bass. The small size has a negative impact on the capacity of the operating time - the headphones last for 2-3 hours, then they need to be charged.

Another “plugs”, this time a sporty version - with small rubber ear mounts. The batteries last for about four hours of listening to music (again the small size of the battery affected). The tips are interchangeable, of different sizes, and can be selected to fit any ear. The sound is of very high quality - on par with its larger brothers.

The most expensive headphones presented here. Lightweight, comfortable, foldable, with convenient controls, high-quality assembly and very good sound. The only thing you might not like about them is the price. The charge lasts for about six hours, the battery is removable, and there is a 2.5 mm audio input.

In terms of sound quality and appearance, these headphones are almost as good as the previous ones, although they cost almost 3.5 times less. Their sound insulation is good, which certainly affects the sound: the bass is clear, the highs are ringing, and the mids are transparent. Battery life is from 8 to 10 hours.

Very comfortable and beautiful headphones with support. The sound, unfortunately, is not as clear as one might expect from a device at this price. Control is performed not by buttons, but by touching the case: double tap on the front of the speaker case turns on the next track, and on the back - the previous one; Pressing the multifunction button allows you to pause a song or answer a call. The battery lasts for 12 hours.

Unusual in appearance, but very comfortable headphones with high sound quality. LG Tone+ is a flexible “clamp” worn around the neck, from which the wires with the speakers come out. The headphones can be used as a telephone headset; they vibrate when there is an incoming call. The battery lasts for 10 hours of music playback.

Like Creative, MEElectronics produces inexpensive but high-quality products. Air Fi headphones are no exception; they cost a little, but they are quite beautiful, comfortable and sound good. The battery life is 12 hours. The headphones are available in six colors. One of the disadvantages is that the battery is not charged via a standard micro USB port, but by a 3.5 mm audio input using a special adapter.

One of the most expensive and beautiful headphones presented here. The sound quality is consistent with both the price and appearance - at the level of professional acoustics. A special feature of Purity Pro is the presence of active noise cancellation. The headphones are available in four colors: white, red, yellow and black. The battery provides up to 24 hours of battery life. If the battery is low, you can plug in an ordinary audio cable with a 3.5 mm plug.

They were a must-have accessory for busy businessmen, for whom the convenience of talking without having to take the phone out of their pocket is very important. But today, wireless headsets are used everywhere - largely due to the significant reduction in cost, ease of use and a huge number of different models that are produced by hundreds of manufacturers.

A good headset should be reliable and fit comfortably in your ears. But if you, for example, like to listen to music, then you need to approach the choice from one side, and if you just need to quickly receive voice calls, then the selection criteria will be slightly different.

Below we will look at the most important characteristics of Bluetooth headsets, and then we will bring to your attention a dozen excellent models that are presented for sale in our catalog.

Main characteristics worth paying attention to

Traditional Bluetooth headsets, which are attached to one ear, have only one audio channel - mono. Such models are designed specifically for those who need to be constantly in touch due to their professional activities. They are very compact and weigh little (often only about 10 g), but you won’t be able to listen to music on such headsets in acceptable quality, simply because there is only one earphone. The controls for such headsets are located directly on the body.

Stereo headsets are suitable for almost everyone - they offer high-quality two-channel sound, and usually handle calls just as well. The microphone and controls can be located either on the body or on the wires - it all depends on the design. For obvious reasons, these models are usually heavier and not nearly as compact as traditional ones.

Bluetooth version

When choosing a Bluetooth headset, you should not consider models that support protocol versions older than 3.0. Bluetooth version 3.0 and higher is enough for both high-quality music transmission (as far as the protocol itself allows) and for conversations without any serious distortion. As a rule, newer versions of Bluetooth imply more economical battery consumption, but in this regard it is better to rely on reviews and tests of specific models - operating time depends more on the battery capacity and the internal logic of the headset.

Not long ago, the Bluetooth 5.0 standard was finalized, which provides even greater efficiency, but headsets supporting it have not yet been released.

Range

In 99% of cases, you will use the headset when the phone is either in your pocket or on the table. But if you are going, for example, to constantly move within the office, and the phone will be at your workplace, then range will be an important parameter.

Manufacturers almost always indicate the maximum range, which in real conditions is greatly reduced (up to 50%) due to walls, doors and other obstacles - this must be taken into account when choosing.

Headphone type

Based on the type of design, headsets are divided into plug-in (“plugs”) and overhead.

The first ones are more compact and comfortable to use. Once upon a time, their sound was considered much inferior to the sound of on-ear models, but in recent years, the development of technology has made it possible to bring its quality closer to the quality of “full-size” headphones. In this regard, everything greatly depends on the specific headset.

Over-ear headsets offer high-quality sound - they completely cover your ears and better protect them from the outside world. Additionally, they often have larger batteries. At the same time, they are more bulky and heavy.

3.5mm headphone jack

Some models (mostly overhead ones) have a 3.5 mm audio output so that they can be used as wired ones in case of battery depletion. In addition, there are models without headphones included, which are a small plastic case with an audio output.

The presence of support for NFC technology allows you to quickly connect the headset to your phone - to do this, you just need to bring it close to it, after which pairing will occur automatically. A very useful feature for those who always lack time.

A2DP, AVRCP

A2DP profile support allows the headset to receive a higher quality signal. For conversations this is not so important, but for listening to music it is almost necessary. However, even the sound quality of A2DP is inferior to the sound quality of conventional wired headphones due to the peculiarities of the Bluetooth protocol.

The AVRCP profile allows you to remotely control media devices, such as TVs or Bluetooth-enabled stereo systems.

Battery

Most often, Bluetooth headsets use standard lithium-ion batteries for the mobile device industry. They are quite capacious and provide long talk time - up to ten hours (in some cases, even more).

Lithium polymer batteries are used less frequently - they are more expensive, but weigh a little less. In addition, they do not withstand shock well.

Additional features

If you use several smartphones at once, then the headset must support Multipoint technology, which will allow it to switch between devices without problems.

The most demanding music lovers can select a headset based on support for the Apt-X codec, which makes the sound of music almost indistinguishable from the sound of MP3. Music lovers may also like the separate DSP chip, which processes the signal, reducing noise and increasing volume.

It is worth paying attention to the number of microphones in the headset. If there are two or more of them, then additional ones are usually used to ensure the operation of the noise reduction system - this makes sound insulation good even in “plugs”. Thanks to noise reduction, listening to music and having a conversation will be easier and more enjoyable.

Finally, sports and healthy lifestyle lovers should pay attention to headsets with a waterproof case. Most of them are sweat and rain resistant, and some can even be used underwater.

The advantages of ordinary headphones with a microphone have long been appreciated by music lovers and mobile phone users, who have the opportunity to listen to music and talk on a smartphone anytime, anywhere. The presence of wires is not always convenient (for example, while driving or in busy places), but a Bluetooth headset that uses a wireless method to connect the earphone to the phone and other devices is free from this drawback. Drivers were among the first to note the convenience of such headsets, as they can use mobile communications without risking a fine.

What is a bluetooth headset

The Bluetooth wireless communication system is designed to facilitate the exchange of information between various digital devices. A network based on it can include several desktop computers, a laptop, a printer, a digital camera, etc. In other words, using a smartphone and a Bluetooth headset is not the only way to use this standard (but the most common). The range of such a network is 10 meters, but in many cases this is enough.

How does it work

The Bluetooth-based network uses radio waves in a special ISM band, ensuring transmission privacy through frequent channel changes. This happens many times within a second, so two Bluetooth devices from different networks located nearby will not interfere with each other at all. In order to connect a Bluetooth headset to your phone, you must:

  • turn on both devices;
  • if the connection does not occur automatically, you must activate the search mode manually;
  • After the headset is detected by the phone, you need to enter the PIN code specified in the instructions.

Kinds

When planning to choose a Bluetooth headset for your phone, you need to decide on the scope of application - its capabilities, appearance and price depend on this. There are the following types of Bluetooth headsets:

There is no optimal option suitable for all cases and must be selected depending on the specific application.

Video

It seems as if the leading audio equipment companies have decided to once and for all put an end to the production of the usual JACK headphones. And not everyone is happy with this arrangement, especially those who use devices without the newfangled Lightning cables or USB-C.

If you have a pair good bluetooth headphones, you hardly have to worry about device incompatibility. Plus, you won't have to worry about tangled wires. All best wireless headphones have a number of similar problems: high cost, dependence on the battery and somewhat worse sound in contrast to their wired counterparts. However, all these shortcomings pale in comparison to the main advantage of a Bluetooth headset - the absence of dangling, torn and tangled wires.

The headphones are comfortable to use, they fit well on the head and do not put pressure on the ears. However, they are felt on the cheekbones, where they transmit sound. This feeling is normal and did not cause any severe discomfort during testing, however, you need to be prepared for the fact that these headphones will take some time to get used to. As with any unusual thing, be it a new car, new clothes or a new way to lose weight.

The quality of the transmitted sound is good, but you need to understand that the AfterShokz Bluez 2 are not audiophile headphones; it is clear that if you need impeccable sound quality, listen to expensive monitor headphones at home in silence. The AfterShokz Bluez 2 Bluetooth headphones are ideal for outdoor use when you need to hear the sounds around you to stay aware of what's going on. This is especially convenient for cyclists, because they need to constantly understand who is around so as not to run over or get hit by a car themselves. The sound is better than you'd expect, good enough for listening to music, and even more so for podcasts and audiobooks.

Moreover, Bluetooth headphones can be used as a headset for talking on the phone; the built-in microphone has a noise reduction function, and therefore your conversation on the street will be quite comfortable for your interlocutors.

The headphones work up to 6 hours on a single battery charge.

Bottom line: I recommend AfterShokz Bluez 2 wireless headphones to those who spend a lot of time outside the home or driving a car, these headphones will be an ideal option for you.

Bluedio T2+ inexpensive Bluetooth headphones of excellent quality

Surprisingly, there are still companies in the world that are ready to offer good quality for reasonable money, or even better. Don’t rush to draw conclusions about the quality of the headphones by reading the brand name - Bluedio T2+ is an excellent example of wireless Bluetooth headphones that will not leave you indifferent.

The secret of Bluedio T2+ is simple - good sound quality, no wires and a great price.

Have you ever thought about the markup that famous brands make on their headphones? I will answer you, for many models it is more than 200%, and for expensive ones up to 300%. Can you imagine these numbers? It is very profitable to produce headphones, because... This is a personal accessory that each person chooses for himself. Each person hears sound differently, so there is no single standard or opinion regarding quality headphones. Of course, expensive models are made of higher quality from stronger, more durable and pleasant materials. And, of course, in general they sound much nicer. But the features and subtle nuances of each headphone model are why some people love one brand and hate another. Every brand tries to create their own sound, their own sound, and that's how they get loyal fans.

But Bluedio T2+ is created as an ideal product as opposed to famous brands. Surprisingly, costing mere pennies, considering their functionality and quality of workmanship, the sound of the headphones gives a head start to more famous and expensive headphones. And it is not just words.

Bluetooth headphones Bluedio T2+ They sit comfortably on the head and can work for up to 40 hours. This is almost a record.

In addition, the headphones have their own player built into them, just insert a MicroSD card with music into them and you don’t need any external source, the headphones will play the music themselves.

There is a built-in microphone, so you can talk on the phone without any problems.

Bottom line: You can endlessly list the advantages of the Bluedio T2+ headphones, if you don’t believe me, just come to the nearest store and listen to them in person, I’m sure you won’t remain indifferent.

SVEN AP-B350MV inexpensive but good Bluetooth headphones

I’ll reveal my cards right away and won’t fool you, inexpensive wireless Bluetooth headphones SVEN AP-B350MV are only good if we take into account their cost. For this price you are unlikely to find a better option. I'm serious, you don't even have to look.

However, headphones have several drawbacks; for many they may be of little significance, and the SVEN AP-B350MV were created precisely for these people.

The design is not very reliable. This means that with proper care, they will serve you for several years, but if you often want to carry them in your backpack among other things, or you carelessly like to throw your headphones on a table or shelf, you should know that the headphones will not last you more than a year. The weak point is the attachment of the cups to the headband.

The second minor drawback is the sound quality. You need to understand that the headphones sound exactly at their cost - at an average level. If you adjust the equalizer to your taste, you can listen to these headphones without difficulty, but if you don't have an equalizer, the sound will be flat, without good detail. But even then, they will be suitable for podcasts or audiobooks.

The operating time on a single battery charge is about 10 hours, and this is a definite plus of the headphones, not every wireless bluetooth headphones, even more expensive ones, can work just as long.

Bottom line: SVEN AP-B350MV headphones are suitable for those who are not looking for perfect sound for a price of $25. These headphones are for those who want good, mid-level sound at a reasonable price wirelessly and are willing to put up with a few minor drawbacks.

Defender FreeMotion B611 inexpensive in-ear Bluetooth headphones

If you need in-canal, extremely inexpensive, but wireless bluetooth headphones with decent sound, then Defender FreeMotion B611 is created for you.

These headphones have many more pros than cons.

The sound quality is very good considering the price of the headphones. I am sure there is simply nothing better on the market for the same money. Of course, Bluetooth headsets that cost 3, 5 or even 10 times more will have clearly better sound, however, the Defender FreeMotion B611 shows us a fairly confident average sound. The bass is in place, the mid frequencies are reproduced well and only at high frequencies you can notice some flaws, but they are insignificant and have almost no effect on the overall quality. And if you adjust the equalizer, consider yourself to have excellent taste.

The headphones are lightweight, fit well in the ear, and do not fall out of it.

The only drawback of the headphones is their short battery life of up to 4 hours. This is enough to get to work and back, or go for a walk or ride a bike. But you will have to charge them every day.

Bottom line: among in-ear models with Bluetooth, the Defender FreeMotion B611 headphones have no competitors in terms of price/quality ratio.

QCY QY12 are probably the best bluetooth headphones at an average price

In Russia, the QCY brand is not very widespread, but in vain. This company makes good headphones. I decided to add to this collection top model of wireless Bluetooth headphones QCY QY12.

Operating time on one battery charge is about 5 hours. It doesn't seem like a very long time, but pay attention to the fact that all the batteries are located in the headphones themselves, which are inserted into the ears. There is a small remote control on the wire, but it is very light and will not pull one of the headphones down. Many people do not pay attention to this point, but it is very important. On many other competing models, the battery is located in this remote control, and it is noticeably heavier as soon as you insert the headphones into your ears - the remote control begins to pull them down and you have to constantly adjust the headphones. There is no such effect in QCY QY12, which is great.

An interesting feature of the headphones is the built-in magnets. Imagine that you are listening to music and you need to take off your headphones. With other headphones, you need to completely remove the headphones and put them in your pocket or bags, because otherwise you can easily lose them and not even notice it. With QCY QY12 everything is much simpler, you just take the headphones out of your ears and hang them around your neck. The magnets in each ear cup are attracted and connected. This way they hang around your neck and you won't lose them. Convenient and practical. At the same time, when the headphones are connected, the phone automatically pauses music playback, i.e. you don't need to take out your phone at all. I would like to note that much more expensive competitors do not have such a useful and obvious feature.

The sound quality is good. I am sure that for most people it will be absolutely sufficient for daily use. There are low frequencies, they are clearly audible, but not amplified. This way, the headphones try to give you honest sound. Mid frequencies sound pleasant, vocals are natural, no complaints. High frequencies sound clear and bright. In a word, the QCY QY12 Bluetooth headphones sound good, without serious complaints.

Bottom line: if you are looking for not very expensive, but stylish and good-sounding headphones, the QCY QY12 is what you need.
