This was the first island of stability in his life and Sanders got married.

The series of professions changed with kaleidoscopic speed, but there was nothing in the future. At the end of 1930, Garland opened his own workshop in Kentucky. To provide a snack for customers waiting for their car to be serviced, Sanders set up a table and six chairs and began serving fried chicken to customers.

After a certain time, it turned out that their sale brings more profit than the car service as a whole. Then the dish was given its current name.

What hindered the development of the business at this time was the fact that all development was directly tied to one person, Sanders himself, since the heirs were not going to deal with this issue. Therefore, in 1964, having received an offer to sell his business, the colonel agreed and sold it for $2,000,000 to the future governor of the state.

Sanders was left with the role of “wedding general,” but he did his part honestly. Therefore, he did not hesitate to criticize the new owners when he believed that their work was harmful to the overall development of the business.

After his death, the company was resold several times. It is currently owned (a subsidiary) of Yum! Brands, one of the world's leading companies in the sector in question. The company has its retail outlets in many countries around the world:
