How to crop a screen in Paint. How to take a screenshot with scissors. Standard Paint (Screens, cropping, arrows) Procedure for creating a screen

Hello girls!!!

So, what is a screenshot?

Screenshot- a screenshot, a picture that displays what your monitor is showing.

Taking screenshots- an important part of the job. A screenshot of the screen is very useful for technical support, because... it displays what the user sees: error messages, programs used, and other information.

Procedure for creating a screenshot:

1 . Press the key Print screen or PrtScSysRq(upper right corner of the keyboard) - and a screenshot will be stored in the memory of your computer - a picture of the current state of the screen. I have highlighted this button with a red circle and it looks like this on the keyboard:

Here's a closer look:

Picture on laptop:

Closer image on laptop:

Just when pressed Print Screen The entire screen will be “photographed”.

2. When you press a combination Alt + Print Screen A screenshot of the currently active window will be taken.

When you press the Print Screen key (or the Print Screen + Alt combination), nothing happens. The fact is that the picture is temporarily placed on the clipboard, and in order to “get” it from there, you should use a graphics editor or paste the picture into the desired application.
A simple (but sufficient for our actions) graphic editor is also built into Windows. It is called Paint, and you can launch it by following the link Start - All Programs - Accessories - Paint.

3. Open Paint - Paint

4. In the upper right corner of the Paint program there will be a window "Insert". Click on it with the left mouse button. And our saved image from the monitor comes out of the clipboard.

We get the image from the monitor:

If desired, the image can be selected and the excess cropped. Click on the button "Select" forming the selected area with a dotted line and then click "Crop". The unnecessary area will simply be cut off. You can also process screenshots in the editor (make signatures, highlight something, etc.) and save them in a separate file (File - Save as…).

We highlight

... trim

... we get a cropped screen

6. Name your screenshot, select the appropriate format for saving the screen (I usually save it in JPEG) and click on the button "Save" to the folder where it will be more convenient for you to later find the saved screenshots.

That's all. A set of these simple actions can seriously help in solving some problems, and this opportunity should not be neglected. Now you can send the file by email by attaching it to a letter or write a post or instructions.

Py. sy.: although the images on the screenshots are different, I hope that the essence of where and what is clear :-))))) Thank you all for reading.

I wish you all successful posts!!!

So, I recently received a question from a subscriber: “Screenshot. Is it possible to process it? After all, there are advertisements and so on around the main thing.”

Important!

Sometimes for work you need pictures that are later needed for use in documents.

To do this, you need to “photograph the screen” and take part of the photo.

The screen capture process is called Print Screen(print screen) or taking a screenshot.

This can be done in several stages.

1 way. Open in Word .

  1. open the Word program.
  2. Right-click "Paste"
  3. an image of what you “photographed” appears, the screen itself.

  1. We will use the rest of the image further to work with texts.

Method 2. Opening Photoshop.

  1. save the selected area by clicking in sequenceFile- Save As
  2. select the path to save the file (for example, Desktop), its format (TIF, JPG). In order to use an object as a separate picture, you need to save it in these formats. Then the file will be saved as a photo, for example.
  3. then click OK everywhere
  4. Then this picture can be used to work in text editors, for posting on the Internet, since it represents a separate object, and not as part of a document with text, as was the case when saving in Word. Plus Photoshop makes it possible to process the picture in more detail: make it black and white, draw additional details, etc.

3 way. Open in Paint .

1. open the Paint program.

5. and now in the picture, select the desired area for cutting with the mouse

That's all. Perhaps one of the proposed methods will definitely suit you.

Important! Don't forget to download my free PDF book. In it I give 5 reliable, proven services for making money on the Internet for a beginner for a Quick Start and access to an income of 30 thousand rubles per month! (and how you can replicate it).

A screenshot - a snapshot of a screen - is most often taken to show someone else. However, a photo taken using the Print Screen key also contains a lot of unnecessary things. It is advisable to remove unnecessary areas from the screenshot, especially when the weight of the image file is important or some private information is included in the image. The easiest way to do this is to use the standard Windows OS editor - it's called MS Paint.

You will need

  • Graphic editor MS Paint.

Instructions

Launch the graphics editor. In the latest versions of Windows - 7 and Vista - to do this, just press the Win key, type pai and press Enter.

Upload the screenshot into Paint. If it's already saved, simply drag the file into the application window. If the screenshot was taken using the Print Screen button and is still on the clipboard, use the paste operation - press the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + V.

To crop an image, you can use several functions of the graphics editor. If you want to reduce the height by cutting off the bottom part, or make it narrower by removing the vertical rectangle on the right, you can use the function of changing image properties. To do this, click on the blue button at the upper left edge of the program window and select “Properties” from the menu. This command is assigned the “hot keys” Ctrl + E - you can use them too.

In the Image Properties window, change the numbers in the Width and Height fields. By default, these parameters are measured in points, but you can check the “centimeters” field - these units are more convenient if the screenshot is intended to be printed. Click OK and the image will be resized.

Another method allows you to more precisely select the area that should remain in the screenshot. This must be done using the selection tool. Open the “Select” drop-down menu on the “Home” tab and select “Rectangular Area”. Then, using the mouse, select the area that should be left and click on the “Crop” button - it is located in the menu to the right of the “Select” button. Paint will resize to fit the selection you specify.

You can leave not a rectangular area on the screenshot, but an area of any shape. To do this, instead of the “Rectangular area” item in the list of the “Select” button, select the “Custom area” item. Then use the mouse pointer to circle the desired area and click the “Delete” button. Paint will first erase everything that remains outside the outlined area, and then resize the image to fit the new dimensions of the screenshot.

Save the edited picture. The corresponding dialog is called up by pressing Ctrl + S. If you opened a screenshot from a file, Paint will do without prompting you for the name of the file and the location where it was saved, but will simply overwrite the original file.

When shooting with a pocket digital camera or mobile phone, not everyone thinks about how to frame the frame, what’s going on in the background, and other similar issues. As a result, when viewing the pictures, it is discovered that next to the girl showing off a new stylish hairstyle, there was someone’s protruding ear, which spoils the frame. In such a situation, cropping the image, which can be done in any graphics editor, can help.

You will need

  • - Photoshop program;
  • - photo for processing.

Instructions

Open the photo you want to crop in Photoshop. The easiest way to do this is to open the folder with the image and right-click on the file. Select “Open with” from the menu that appears, and select Photoshop from the list of programs.

Place the cursor on the photo to be cropped, hold down the left mouse button and drag out the cropping frame. Release the button. The fragment of the photo that will remain after cropping has retained its colors, and those parts of the image that will be deleted are covered with a translucent mask. The default color of the mask is black, but you can select a different color by clicking on the colored rectangle, which can be found in the panel under the main menu.

If you can't get your cropping exactly right the first time, there's no reason to be upset. You have the opportunity, by dragging the borders of the frame with the mouse, to crop exactly what is required. To move the cropping frame sideways, hold down the left mouse button and drag the side border of the frame. To move the frame down or up, you will need to drag the bottom or top border. Dragging the corner of the frame will increase or decrease its size.

The cropping frame can be rotated around an anchor point, which by default is in the middle of the frame. To rotate the frame, hover your cursor over the area of the photo outside the crop border, near the corner of the frame. The pointer will take the form of a curved arrow. Hold down the left mouse button and rotate the frame as needed.

Apply the transformation. To do this, press the Enter key on your keyboard.

Save the cropped photo with the Save As command, which can be found in the File menu. When saving, enter a file name that is different from the original one.

How to find the standard Paint program on your computer.

To do this, go to Start -> All Programs -> Accessories. And it is most likely present there by default.

But even if you find it on your computer, I still recommend downloading it from the official website HERE : https://paintnet.ru/ . Why do you need to download? Because the Paint included with the Operating System is most often an outdated version, it is not associated with the official website and will not be updated, and the downloaded program contacts the website every 5 days to check for updates. And it is also much more convenient than standard Paint.

And then on the site there are lessons that tell you how to use the program https://paintnet.ru/category/lessons/, and they are constantly being added and updated. It was created by Washington State University students as a test. And now she is an indispensable assistant for us.

For example you need take a screenshot, you need to open the page from which you need to take a screenshot, then simultaneously press Ctrl and at the same time press the button PrintScreenSysRq, it can also be called PrtScSysRq. On the keyboard it can also be placed in different places, but always closer to the right edge of the keyboard.

This way we save the screenshot to the clipboard of our computer. This means that we can paste it into any program that has a paste from clipboard function.

The image will enlarge if you click on it! Like all the other pictures.

If the image is too large, then a window like this will appear in front of you. And if you want to save the photo in its original form, then click Enlarge canvas. Since the next option is “Save Canvas Size”, it will be trimmed at your discretion.

After you have done everything you wanted with the screenshot, you need to save it. Select "Save As".

When the save window pops up, we:

  1. We write the name of the file.
  2. We select the format; to do this, simply click on the desired one.

If you select the PNG format, a window like this will appear. There you need to select the picture quality. The higher the number of bits, the better and heavier the image will be. So now decide what you need it for, if for social networks, then there is not much difference.

But if for a website, then the weight of the photo is of great importance. A heavy one will slow down page loading. If you want to learn how to make photos easier, with the help of one lightweight and multifunctional program, then. If it is more convenient for you to use online services, then.

After you have marked the need for a chickbox, you can immediately look at the quality. If everything suits you, then click OK.

A new lesson in which we will look at the process of creating a screenshot of a screen with a standard Windows program - Scissors

What is the Scissors program?

Scissors program is a standard program that comes with the Windows operating system and is designed to create screenshots (screenshots).

The program itself does not come with all Windows, but only with the Home Premium, Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate versions. If you have a version different from these, then you will not find this tool on your computer. You can find the tool on your computer in the Start menu -> All Programs -> Accessories.

In fact, this item may not exist, so let's figure out where its tool is, to use it and how to add it to the "Standard" folder. You can find it at "Local drive C" -> "Windows" -> "System32". In this folder we look for a file called "SnippingTool.exe".

Using the right mouse button, we can send this file to the desktop as a shortcut, we can pin it to the Start menu or on the taskbar, and also add it to the Standard folder. In order to place it in the "Standard" folder, we hold down the scissors program icon and, without releasing the left mouse button, drag it to the "Start" menu, then to the "All Programs" folder, then to the "Standard" folder and in the end just we place it somewhere between the points that are there.

We can also, by right-clicking on the tool, give it a name, for example, Scissors.

The last point that will be convenient when working with the standard Scissors program is the hotkey. With it we can call the tool without going to the Start menu. To do this, right-click on the item and select “Properties” from the drop-down menu. In the window that opens, on the "Shortcut" tab, place the mouse cursor on the "Shortcut" item and press any key that you want to launch the program, for example, F7. Next, click the “Apply” and “Ok” button. Now, by pressing the F7 key on your keyboard, the Scissors program will automatically launch.

Now it's time to look at how screenshots are created using the program. Launch the program and let's start analyzing it. In the window that opens, click on the “Options” item. There are very few of them and they are very light, so we will skip them and will not consider them.

We are most interested in the “Create a snapshot” item. By clicking on it, we create a screenshot. Before you start creating it, you need to use the arrow located to the right of this item to select the area that we will shoot.

Here we have 4 options to choose from:
1. Free form - Create a screenshot of absolutely any shape;
2. Rectangle - create a picture of a regular rectangular shape;
3. Window - create a screenshot of the selected open window. Here you do not need to select an area, and to take a picture of it, just move the cursor to the open active window and click the left mouse button. The active window in this case, when hovering the mouse cursor, is highlighted in red;
4. Whole screen - everything is simple here, a snapshot of the entire screen is taken.

For this example, I'll select the "Rectangle" survey area. Next, holding down the left mouse button, move the cursor, selecting which area will be in the image.

After we have selected the area, a new window opens in which we can edit the resulting image - we can crop the already received screenshot, if there is something unnecessary on it, copy it in order to use it in another editor, for example, in Paint, write something on it, draw something or send it by mail.
