Tariff "My Tele2": detailed description and benefits. Free calls to Tele2

Every subscriber who uses cellular communications dreams of a continuous coverage area - so that the phone can pick up the operator’s signal anywhere in Russia. Unfortunately, this is not always possible, but operators are doing everything possible to expand their presence. Tele2's coverage area is quite large; it affects many regions, providing communications to residents of megalopolises, big cities and small towns. Let's talk about this in more detail.

Tele2 coverage area in the Moscow region

Considering the Tele2 coverage area in the Moscow region, we can note that it is quite wide. And all this despite the newness of this operator in the capital region. Tele2 is regularly criticized for poor reception in suburban areas. In some cases this is indeed the case, which is noticeable in some regions.

But in general, the quality of communication remains acceptable. Let's see what Tele2 coverage should ideally be:

  • Reliable network signal reception anywhere in the city;
  • Good reception in the suburbs and in the Moscow region;
  • Availability of access to high-speed Internet anywhere.

If we talk about the Tele2 coverage area in Moscow, we can note that the entire capital is covered by communications. It is also found on the outskirts and in cities that are part of the Moscow region.

Looking at the Tele2 coverage map in the capital region, you immediately see the lack of communication in the 2G standard. This is due to the complete absence of base stations broadcasting in this format. In Moscow and the Moscow region, subscribers need phones with 3G support. Visiting subscribers who want to use intranet roaming also need to know about this.

With the Internet in Moscow and the Moscow region, everything is simply gorgeous. The thing is that there is a 4G coverage area from Tele2. It covers not only the capital, but also nearby cities - Orekhovo-Zuevo, Naro-Fominsk, Kolomna, Serpukhov, Sergiev Posad, Klin and many others. Moreover, Tele2’s 3G coverage is wider than 4G coverage. Consequently, you can enjoy high-speed Internet access almost everywhere.

Tele2 coverage areas in Russia

Let's now take a look at Tele2's coverage area in Russia. Over the past years, communication from this operator has become available in almost all regions. But there are also exceptions - it is absent in Elista, Astrakhan, Stavropol, Dagestan and Chechnya, Ivanovo, Rybinsk and Yaroslavl, Ufa and Chita, as well as in many other cities and regions. Moreover, there are places where network construction is not even in the plans.

The Tele2 coverage area in the 2G standard is characterized by the greatest coverage. It is the widest and most accessible, present in many regions. But the 3G coverage area from Tele2 is weaker - it looks as if ink was splattered on the card. 3G is present only in populated areas, but if you move a few kilometers away, the connection disappears.

Tele2 4G coverage area in Russia is even less wide than 3G coverage area. The maximum presence of communications in this standard is noted in the territory of Moscow, St. Petersburg and the Krasnodar Territory. Here subscribers can enjoy Internet access at the highest speed - this is a big plus. In order to clarify the Tele2 coverage area, go to the official website, in the “Support” section. Here you will see a map with broadcast standard switches. Select your region and see if there is reception where you need it. You can also switch to the all-Russian map and look at the coverage in full scale.

The coverage map was created on the basis of computer modeling - this means that in real conditions there may not be communication at certain points.

Initially, Tele2 is a Swedish discount company, a kind of IKEA in the telecommunications market. Maximum cost reduction (to the point that top managers fly on business trips with low-cost airlines rather than business class) and careful cost optimization (there are approximately half as many employees per subscriber as competitors) allow us to keep prices below the market average. When entering new markets, the operator often resorted to a cellular discounter policy, and in Russia, after Tele2 entered another region, prices from other operators often fell by as much as 20-30%.

2. These are not Swedes

In 2013, the Swedes Tele2 AB sold the company to structures that resold it to the state-owned Rostelecom. The fact is that over the course of 10 years of work in Russia, Tele2 has not been able to obtain permission to launch 3G and LTE networks - even on existing frequencies (so-called “technological neutrality”). While little was required from mobile communications - calls and SMS - this was not critical, but there were fewer and fewer people willing to be content with the Internet with the eternal letter E on the screen. Ultimately, after the sale, officials allowed “technical neutrality”, and the new owners, represented by Rostelecom, contributed licenses for 3G frequencies originally allocated to Sky Link.

3. Tele2 does not have GSM frequencies in Moscow

In Moscow, Tele2 will only have 3G networks (in the range of 2100 MHz) and LTE (2600 MHz) - the frequency resource in these ranges is the same as that of MegaFon, MTS and Beeline. The operator also has LTE-800 frequencies, which they promised to use at the start, but after that a number of media outlets, citing informed sources, reported that LTE-800 would not appear immediately. We'll tell you how it turns out in the end. But the operator will not have a GSM network at all. On the one hand, this is good: you simply physically cannot get into the zone where the phone switches to the GSM/EDGE network, depriving you of the opportunity to use the Internet with any comfort. On the other hand, try turning on the “3G Only” mode on your smartphone and taking a walk around the capital. You will immediately discover many places where the device loses the network. This is understandable: GSM base stations operate at a lower frequency and, as a rule, with higher power, due to which the signal penetrates better into buildings and spreads better outside the city. The promised LTE-800 also has good range, but it is far from the efficiency of GSM, and Russia has not yet allowed voice transmission over LTE - it will only work in 3G. Well, owners of dialer phones without 3G support are not allowed to join Tele2.

The operator will not have a GSM network at all. Owners of dialer phones without 3G support are not allowed to join Tele2, but there are more than 8 million of them in Moscow and Moscow Region.

4. Tele2 offers mainly package tariffs

Tele2 focuses on package tariff plans with included minutes and SMS. They are called "Black", "Very Black" and "Blackest". Offers are focused in the lower and middle price segments. The maximum subscription fee in the regions does not exceed 400 rubles per month, and the basic package costs less than 100 rubles. There are also tariffs without a monthly fee with per-minute calls, and there are also tariffs for business subscribers.

5. Tele2 is not the cheapest operator. But honest

Once upon a time, Tele2’s slogan was: “Always cheaper.” Then, from banal dumping in pursuit of low prices, there was a reorientation to the optimal price-quality ratio. Now prices differ slightly from the market average, so Tele2 positions itself as an “honest” operator. Honesty lies, firstly, in transparency of tariffs. That is, you will not find any asterisks, hidden conditions, etc. in their description. Other operators, in general, also long ago realized that no one believes in fairy tales like “EVERYTHING IS FREE*. *- the subscription fee of 100,500 rubles per day is not charged every February 29,” but the positioning has been preserved. Secondly - and this is perhaps more important - Tele2 does not quietly connect various services that later unexpectedly become paid, and also does not practice subscriptions, premium traffic tariffication and other rubbish (only Yota does better with this), therefore there are fewer complaints about mobile fraud from its subscribers than the Big Three. However, Tele2, like everyone else, quite allows itself to raise prices for already connected subscribers.

8. Numbers are sold at auction

For Moscow Tele2, numbers in the code (977) have been allocated and are now actively offered in the online store on the operator’s website. The excitement is small, so you can pick up something memorable, and for only 100-200 rubles, which will go towards your account. However, really beautiful “gold” and “silver” numbers are sold at an online auction with very specific rules. The fact is that participation in the auction does not in any way oblige the winner to then buy the number for the final amount, and if the winner does not show up, the number goes to the “second place”, and if the second participant does not come, then the auction is declared invalid. Thanks to this, it is easy to use two accounts to completely bring down the entire auction and force the organizers to start it again. The rules also inform about the operator’s right to replace the number with a “similar” one with a 60-day notice without refunding the money paid for the number. That is, the combination of numbers does not become your property, and no one is stopping you from transferring a beautiful combination to another operator via MNP.

9. Cheap roaming

Tele2 offers cheap roaming in the regions of Russia: the basic tariff is 5 rubles per minute of incoming and outgoing calls, and the Internet is always paid at the home tariff. For 3 rubles per day you can make incoming calls free, and outgoing calls within Russia in this case will cost 2 rubles. As for international roaming, it is not cheap compared to the offers of the Big Three; Tele2 will be more profitable only if you hardly talk or use the Internet (otherwise the package options of competitors will be more interesting).

In international roaming, Tele2 will be more profitable only if you hardly talk or use the Internet. Otherwise, the package options of competitors will be more interesting.

10. Tele2 gives 1200 rubles

On the Tele2 website you can get a virtual “certificate” for 1,200 rubles. This amount will be credited to your account upon connection. True, everything is not so simple. Firstly, it will be received in equal shares throughout the year: 100 rubles per month. Are you already happy that there is enough for the 90-ruble tariff? Do not hurry. From the second month, 100 rubles will “drip” provided that the subscriber tops up the account with at least 100 rubles per month. However, cutting costs in half is also a good idea: and managers will receive bonuses for the loyalty of the attracted subscriber base.

Great competition among mobile communication companies means that operators strive to offer users the most favorable conditions. The modern cellular communications market is replete with tempting offers. All tariff plans are aimed at potential subscribers.

Mobile operator Tele2 is no exception. Tele2 is different in that services under hidden conditions are not activated. If the user is interested in connecting to a particular service, he performs the activation independently.

The most popular among Tele2 subscribers are services that allow you to save money. These are packages of messages, Internet traffic and unlimited communications.

Users often ask questions about how to connect free minutes to Tele2. In fact, there are several service options that will allow you to make free calls. In this article we will look at these options in detail.

This service will allow you to make calls to all directions. At the same time, calls within the network are completely unlimited. For calls to other operators and landline numbers, 200 minutes are allocated.

The cost of such a package of services is 100 rubles. The money is withdrawn from the subscriber’s personal account immediately after activation. There are no additional commissions or payments.

The service is activated for 14 calendar days. Packet data that is not consumed within the specified period is burned.

Several nuances of this service should be taken into account:

  • the service is valid within the home region;
  • long-distance and international calls are paid according to the operator’s standard tariffs.

To activate the service, you must select the appropriate option in your personal account. Another way to activate the service is to call the Tele2 operator hotline (short number 611).

Disabling the service is a little easier - just dial * 116 * 119 * 0 # on your phone.

Service “Favorite Number” from Tele2

This service allows you to make free calls from a Tele2 number to other Tele2 numbers. The user can connect up to 5 numbers for unlimited calls.

This service is especially convenient among relatives, close friends, as well as for small corporations.

To add any number to your top five favorites, you need to dial the following combination on your phone:

  • * 110 * 8 [federal phone number]# .

To check the numbers that are connected to the service, you must enter the following combination:

  • * 110 * 1 # .

For using services, 1 ruble is withdrawn from the subscriber’s personal account daily.

The prices are quite affordable, which is another pleasant bonus of this mobile operator.

Connecting your favorite numbers is only possible for Tele2 network numbers. Calls to numbers of other operators are made according to standard tariffs, even if there was an attempt to connect these numbers to “favorites”.

Another option for free calls on the network is the “Cheaper Together” tariff. In order to find out details regarding connection and payment, you should contact the call center operator. To do this you need to call the short number 611.

In addition to unlimited calls, Tele2 offers many other profitable service packages. These are message packages for any direction, as well as Megabyte packages of different sizes.

The extensive range of services offered for activation by Tele2 is aimed at various categories of subscribers. The “My Tele2” tariff was included in the mobile provider’s offer in 2017; it is aimed at a young audience of cellular service users - maximum Internet traffic and minimal use of standard calls and sending SMS messages.

Let's look at the full description of the “My Tele2” service from the operator’s updated line of tariffs.

Detailed description of the service

  • The need to access the Internet is a priority need for young people when using gadgets, which can be satisfied by connecting to the “My Tele2” service. The subscription fee from the subscriber who has activated the tariff plan is charged daily, the write-off amount is 7 rubles. What packages and what tariffs are set for the owner of the “My Tele2” service?
  • Mobile Internet, paid for by a subscription fee, is provided for a month - 5 gigabytes;
  • Communication between Tele2 clients, carried out through telephone calls, is free and unlimited, calls can be sent both to subscribers in the connection region and to users living in other constituent entities of the Russian Federation;
  • Calls to phones in your home region that belong to other mobile operators cost RUB 1.95/min;
  • The cost of outgoing calls sent to subscribers located outside the user’s connection region is 1.95 rubles/min;
  • Regardless of the location of the recipient of the SMS message (in Russia), the price of sending an SMS is 1.95 rubles;
  • A multimedia message sent to subscribers located in Russia costs 6.50 rubles;
  • Using satellite communication during a call will cost the user 399 rubles/min;
  • Making calls by a Tele2 client while traveling around the country costs 2 rubles per minute.

Note! The described tariffication is valid for subscribers in Moscow and the Moscow region. You can find out more about the size of the packages provided by the tariff plan and the current tariffs for another constituent entity of the Russian Federation through the company’s official website.

The pricing described above indicates the purpose of the tariff – active use of mobile Internet by users. If the 5 GB package is used up before the quota renewal time, the cellular provider automatically credits the subscriber with 500 megabytes of traffic. An additional quota requires a payment of 50 rubles.

A significant addition to the activation of the tariff plan is a complete unlimited limit on traffic used to visit social networks or work with well-known instant messengers (Viber, WhatsApp).

Timely payment of the subscription fee also has its advantages - Tele2 cellular users have access to automatic transfer of quotas unused during the month. The package transferred from the previous month is valid for the entire next period, but is not transferred to the third month.

How to activate a tariff

The mobile communications provider Tele2 offers several ways in which you can activate the “My Tele2” service:

  • Using the gadget menu, enter a USSD command of the form *630*1# using the keyboard;
  • Call the service number provided for setting up services – 630;
  • Select the described tariff plan and activate by logging into the Personal Account of the company’s clients - “My Tele2”.

How to deactivate an operator offer

The conditions of some offers are not necessarily liked by users; if the “My Tele2” tariff plan is not suitable for the subscriber, then disabling the service is available when activating another offer from the cellular company. The previous tariff will be deactivated automatically without user intervention.

On your own skin.

Tele2 It took an unacceptably long time to get to Moscow. While the company was owned by the Swedes, the operator’s chances of getting the coveted frequencies were close to zero. By and large, all licenses and frequencies were purchased by the mobile operator together with small regional companies. And only when the company and the rights to use the brand were transferred to Rostelecom, the path to the capital was open.

Since 2014 Tele2 began to actively prepare for the start of work in Moscow. By the time the network was launched into commercial operation on October 22, 2015, more than 7,000 base stations ensured the operation of the network within the Moscow Ring Road. And the company did not stop there and continues to increase its coverage area in Moscow and the region.

Order online

My journey to the Tele2 operator began with studying the site. Pleasantly surprised by the delivery option I discovered, I proceeded to purchase. However, at the time of placing the order, the system offered only one option - “ Pickup" It was not possible to avoid visiting the sales office.

P.S. After 3 weeks, it became possible to use the free delivery service. In my opinion, this is the most preferable option for obtaining a SIM card.

Purchase

There was a queue in the office, which, on top of everything else, was moving slowly. It took about 10-15 minutes to issue one SIM card. So, with two operators working, my turn came in about 40 minutes.

By the way, the possibility of instant issuance of a SIM card promoted on the operator’s website (subject to entering passport data in advance) in fact does not work. The sale took the same 15 minutes.

Of course, the sluggishness of the staff can be attributed to a lack of proper experience. However, before going to the sales office, you should be patient or wait until the wave of people wanting to test the capabilities of the new operator subsides.

Job

I didn’t have any particular complaints about Tele2 after 3 weeks of use. All this time, the connection was no worse, and sometimes even better, than my main SIM card from the Big Three operator.

You can definitely be pleased with the quality of the Internet. The average data reception speed is 10-15 Mbit/s and does not depend on the type of connection, 3G or LTE. Although in the city center in LTE networks the download speed reaches 30 Mbit/s. Data is transmitted consistently at a speed approximately 2-3 times lower than downloaded.

However, one should not forget that Tele2 is in the process of saturating its customer base. During the first month of operation in Moscow, more than 380 thousand users connected to the operator’s network. I do not rule out that over time the load on the operator’s cellular networks will increase, which may significantly reduce the quality of the services provided.

Problems

It couldn't have happened without them.

Firstly while the operator limits the duration of the phone call. At first the conversation ended after 15 minutes. Now the connection breaks after 29 minutes of conversation. I hope that such restrictions are temporary and related to the start of the network.

Secondly, at one point, information about balances on prepaid packages disappeared from my personal account. The support operator referred to sudden difficulties with the software that were not related to the collection of statistics. For several days, the remaining minutes, prepaid traffic and SMS could only be found out by contacting the operator's Support Service.

Third, there were problems turning on Modem mode. Even restoring it to work did not help. As a result, the problem resolved itself after calling the Support Service.

Tariff comparison

Tele2 uses 2 main points to promote its products: unlimited calls within the network and lower prices compared to competitors. Free on-net calls have long been offered by the Big Three operators in various tariff options. Here Rostelecom's wards were somewhat late. As for the tariffs, they are indeed cheaper than the Big Three offers. It is difficult to predict how long this situation will persist. Most likely, competitors will adjust their prices in the near future, if they have not already done so.

Tele2 has not yet had time to acquire many tariff plans and options, so it is quite easy to compare them. For individuals, the operator’s tariff schedule is divided into 3 groups: “Orange” tariff, black tariffs and tariffs for devices.

As a standard unit, I took the most popular tariff among subscribers “ The most black” and placed summary data on all tariffs on a histogram.

Tariff " Orange" turned out to be the most expensive. It provides the subscriber with the least number of services for each invested ruble. However, it is notable for the absence of a subscription fee, the low cost of calls to mobile and landline numbers within the Russian Federation (1 rub./min), as well as the ability to connect a small Internet package for 5 rubles per day (150 rubles per month). The tariff plan is suitable for those who rarely use their mobile phone and for backup SIM cards.

Group black tariffs designed with an eye on the needs of different smartphone users and looks optimal for them. By the way, if the included Internet traffic package is not enough, additional 3GB until the end of the month can be purchased for 150 rubles.

Tariff " Internet for devices» optimal for iPad. It does not imply a mandatory subscription fee, but depending on your needs, for 300–900 rubles you can connect to it tariff options that provide up to 30GB of traffic per month.

Is it worth switching?

Answering the main question, am I ready to use Tele2 as a primary operator, I'm inclined to answer in the negative. As a backup or as a data-sim, Tele2 seems to me the ideal solution. And it's not about the quality of the connection. What really confuses me is the lack of coverage in the metro and support for the 2G standard. However, I don’t plan to give up the SIM card I purchased and will use it in my tablet.
