Next Yandex update. Yandex update - what is it and when does it happen?

Hello friends! This is the last article in a series of my experimental articles (test article for Baden 6). Literally in 2 months I will sum up the results and write about my observations! I'm sure it will be interesting

Today we’ll talk about one of the key concepts of SEO promotion and internet promotion in general. This magical phenomenon in a split second lifts some sites to the skies and also quickly brings them down to the distant pages of search results. Its name is Yandex Updates.

The word has English roots and implies updating the search engine. What exactly changes with each update? In fact, there are several types of updates, and you will read about each of them in detail below.

Now let's give a simple example. You upload a new article to your website or create a completely new correct resource and it already has a couple of texts. After some time they appear online. This means that the Yandex Up has already touched your site.

In fact, we are talking about the appearance of new pages or entire sites in the search engine. But in fact, everything is much more interesting than it seems. Therefore, I advise you to continue reading if you want to get to the heart of the work of the No. 1 search engine in the entire post-Soviet space.

You can learn more about Google and Yandex search algorithms, their development and features. For proper website promotion, it is also useful to know about ways to help improve the search visibility of a resource through optimization.

How is the Yandex search engine updated?

At its core, search engine optimization is characterized as a never-ending process based on regular periodic updates. Even at night or during weekends, search robots and algorithms work tirelessly on all sorts of updates, adjustments, bans, permissions and relocations.

Therefore, many webmasters and promotion specialists often do not get enough sleep at night to constantly monitor the level of traffic on the site. If a resource crashes from the first search page, problems with customers immediately begin because the project suffers losses. With profit, the situation is repeated exactly the opposite. And again, fateful ups are to blame.

What is an update from an SEO point of view?

This phrase should be understood as the appearance of new sites or web pages in the databases of a particular search engine. As a result, not only new data is added to the system, but the order of arrangement of Internet resources on the search results pages also changes. This is how the search engine updates its cache. This process can also be called changing the indexing results.

In practice it looks like this. Today your site ranks first for the query “rose-colored glasses Moscow price”, tomorrow it moves to ninth, and a week later to 37th place. Moreover, such a movement is possible in both directions and can be explained only on the basis of subjective hypotheses. With the exception of gross errors, which are immediately visible and obvious. But most often in SEO, everything is far from so simple. Often, some pages that are optimized according to all the rules are in lower positions than similar, less well-organized sections of competitors.

The main task of search robots is to constantly monitor any, even minor, changes in the network. They pay special attention to the emergence of new pages or entire sites. Every change, be it edits in the old version of the page or the appearance of a new element, is recorded by the search engine in its own cache. This continues until the next update, after which a kind of castling occurs. Some pages leave the cache forever, others appear in it and take their place on the search engine results pages.

Which elements need to be updated first:

  1. New link addresses.
  2. All new text parts of pages.
  3. Changes to previously created pages.

In most cases, links and text are updated in Yandex at the same time. But it is not a fact that an address added to Webmaster at 22.00 Moscow time will appear in search results 10-12 hours later. No one knows or can predict the exact time when this will happen. After the first update, a new one is not always available, and if you believe the rules, the next update will occur no earlier than in 3-10 days. You need to focus on this time when analyzing the effectiveness of SEO promotion for each individual page.

The update is more loyal to some types of sites. Blogs and news resources have the luckiest of all. Resources that often publish new materials with a large number of views, likes and comments are also a priority. Everyone else is patiently, with the humility of African tribes waiting for rain, while away the time until the next update.

Main types of Yandex Update - what, why and how

Search results update

Let's imagine that you want to buy a hookah. Go to the search engine and enter the desired query. Follow the link to the site that interests you and immediately find the information you need. But you don’t have the opportunity to order a hookah today. You calmly close the page and go about your business. Do not save anything to bookmarks.

A week passes and you search, but do not find a familiar site on the first page of Yandex, which a week ago was the leader in its segment. This means that during the update, search robots decided to reformat the ten most relevant resources to the request.

It’s good if your hookah only made it to the second or third page. Otherwise, you will have to waste time and delve into history.

Why is this happening? There may be several reasons:

  1. A new algorithm for calculating bad and good texts has been launched.
  2. More relevant and high-quality materials from competitors appeared.
  3. When developing the page, you made mistakes that became noticeable to robots only over time.
  4. Technical failure and dozens of other similar reasons.

Text content update

Takes into account all changes that affect the text part of blogs, news portals, online stores, forums, bulletin boards, social networks and other important resources. Important! Indexed articles are also periodically scanned by robots to quickly record possible changes. New text material is given a special consideration - it is also closely monitored, checked for uniqueness, overspam, nausea and other indicators in order to assign an appropriate place in the search results.

Link mass update

By the way, all of the listed types of updates intersect with each other at different points. It happens like this. Imagine that, in parallel with the ordered articles, you purchased several promising links for the site.

During the update process, Yandex robots index the link mass and text content. This is how the system determines what position in the search results to place each specific page. Usually all this happens at the same time, but exceptions to the rules also happen.

Types of Yandex Updates that not everyone knows about

TIC update

A very useful Yandex parameter that shows the level of authority and expertise of a site in its niche. Webmasters often use sites with high TICs to further monetize the resource by selling links. But over time, this practice becomes a thing of the past and gives way to classic content marketing with.

Yandex Catalog Update

New sites get into it, and old, inactive or completely lost trust leave their homes. This type of update is important for everyone who strives to make their resource part of a prestigious catalog or is afraid of losing their place in this list.

Updating images in the search database

A separate robot is responsible for this. Images are indexed gradually, although the nature of the update has the same clear boundaries as in the case of updating text content. This type of update will be of interest to everyone who aims to publish high-quality photographs and pictures and receive a significant part of the traffic from them. Observing the update of pictures will help to identify the most successful manipulations with the image from the point of view of attracting visitors.

Favicons update. These are small icons tied to a specific site. They appear to the left of the main page title. If you work with information in one or several segments for a long time, then it is very easy to find the necessary information using the favicons of high-quality sites that have long been tested for the quality of content. \

There is no need to suspect anything if your new and more beautiful graphic icon does not appear in searches for a long time. The thing is that favicon updates are among the rarest in the system.

Mirrorer update

A separate robot checks the mirror gluing work. Here is a simple example of mirror addresses: www.site and . Gluing with the definition of the main mirror is a prerequisite for the normal operation of the site. This can be done in two ways: through the webmaster panel, 301 redirect or using the robots.txt file.

Often a situation arises when a site ends up on a different domain. The reasons can be very different - from a banal hit by a filter to a fundamental decision to change the domain name. To ensure that everything goes smoothly and without noise, the address of the new main mirror is written in the robots.txt file of the new and old domino. In parallel, the same manipulations are performed on the webmaster panel.

Unfortunately, gluing does not happen immediately, but only after the next update with the participation of a specially trained robot.

What does the update process look like from the inside?

Every adequate site participates in the search and is clearly visible to the visitor. But in order for people to know about the existence of a resource, the system must record this fact. The spider robot is engaged in such similar tasks. It regularly scans the Internet and places the sites it finds in its database. But new resources are not added immediately.

First comes the information collection stage. This is similar to how a copywriter collects interesting facts to later present them in his article. When an asset has the required amount of information, it moves to the database. But this is an unusual movement. In parallel with this, the database itself is undergoing changes, taking into account the new data that has now become part of it.

This is called the ranking process. It is based on a complex algorithm that analyzes a wide range of different factors. Therefore, the participation of a new site in the updated version of the search requires a thorough restructuring of old and new Internet resources.

Do you know when the last update is?

The average article for a site ends up in the Yandex cache after two updates. This usually takes from one to two weeks. After the first text update, the content is taken into account. If no major changes are recorded during the second update, the text takes its place in the search results. Speed also depends on the volume of new text and the structural features of each individual site.

If a “thick” site that occupies a leading position in a niche updates a longread with a bunch of photos, tables and diagrams, the process of re-indexing such material will take longer.

It is much easier to predict how the citation index in a topic is updated. The overall TIC value in the value search engine is stable and accurate. It almost never changes, with rare exceptions. Therefore, the update itself implies a process of redistribution. It happens, usually once or twice in one or two months.

But even for this type of update, as for all others, no one can give exact dates. You can only make assumptions based on events in retrospect. There are even special resources for this on RuNet:

  • tools.promosite.ru is an update indicator that provides a wide range of analytical information after updates. All changes are clearly shown in the form of graphs. It is considered the most accurate resource that reports about the next update. Mandatory checks take place every three minutes.

  • seobudget.ru is an update indicator that offers a report in the form of a table, which shows the dates of updates in the search engine for past periods. Below they publish the dates of expected updates in the context of two popular search engines.

Using these services, you can fairly accurately predict when new texts, links, pictures and other information will next appear in the database.

Features of Google updates

The largest search engine in the world has only two types of updates - search results and PageRank. Let's talk about each of them in more detail.

Search update

Google search results are not like Yandex. There is no update process as such. Everything happens almost online. As soon as new changes appear, the system immediately adapts to them. There are no numerous types of updates, transfers to the database and back. All algorithms are simplified to the limit.

PageRank

Google's analogue of the TIC indicator in Yandex. In simple words, it determines the authority of the page. Depends on the weight and number of links that lead to a specific section of the site. Data is updated approximately every three to four months. Toolbar PR is no longer updated!

When was the last Google update?

New data appears in the system daily. Therefore, those who promote on Google do not “live” from update to update, but monitor changes as necessary. As a rule, texts and links are added to the search at the same time.

PageRank parameters are also constantly recalculated. The system monitors the quality and quantity of links that lead to a particular document. But a global update of the entire rating is carried out once every 3-4 months.

How to quickly find out about the latest accurate Yandex Updates?

The main data update procedures start approximately after 12 am Moscow time. A special informer from promosite promptly provides the necessary information. But even after installing the widget, you should not immediately waste time checking the changes. The Yandex search database is huge and takes at least several hours to update. Therefore, any update checks in the dark are a waste of time. It is more convenient to track changes in the morning, when all changes have already been recorded and sorted.

There are a number of other services on the RuNet that also monitor updates of the domestic search engine. In fact, the information you need is easy to find on any website that has other search engine optimization analysis tools. The RDS bar, well known among webmasters, also reports on recent changes. Therefore, problems with timely receipt of information, as a rule, do not arise.

After each update of the citation index or search results, the activity of sites, forums and groups on social networks where optimizers with different skill levels communicate is activated. They exchange experiences, talk about their successes and failures. It is there that new theories and hypotheses are born about how to increase the TCI of a particular site and what methods help in this. Of course, the main secrets remain behind the scenes, but there is still a lot of useful information.

There is a nice bonus from Yandex itself. A message about a new update may come to you by email from the search engine itself. In the depths of the Webmaster service menu there is a section where you can select news and other information that you want to receive by email or directly in the service interface.

But if you get information directly from a search engine, then you will be among the last to know the news. The next update begins to be discussed immediately after the procedure is launched. And the message comes when work on all the changes has already been completed. The advantage of a message from Yandex is that at the time of receiving it, you can safely double-check the change in positions.

Why do you need to analyze the correct Yandex updates?

Imagine that you are promoting your own or a client’s resource. Monitoring updates will help you quickly determine the results of optimization, make the necessary changes, and minimize the impact of mistakes.

Specific example. You have written texts of a certain structure according to a clear, pre-thought-out new template. But after the update, the pages did not even enter the TOP 100. At the same time, articles written according to the structure that was used previously significantly improved their positions. This means that you need to bring the texts into the most preferred form for Yandex and wait for the next update. The main question is how to achieve this? Each SEO specialist has his own signature recipes.

Working with links works in a similar way. If one strategy fails and traffic volumes drop, you urgently need to change your tactics for interacting with links.

To analyze the results of an update, webmasters use all available RuNet tools. Google Analytics and YandexWebmaster are just the main ones. When analyzing data, try to remember that there are very few 100% reliable facts and figures in SEO. Everything is learned by comparison through personal experience. And dramatic changes happen every day.

All the features described above relate only to text and link updates. Analyzing authority metrics is much more complex, and we will look at these points in future articles.

One thing can be said for sure: without analyzing the Yandex Update, it is very difficult to find out the characteristics of the audience that comes to the site. And information about it is necessary to increase traffic volumes, as well as daily increase the number of visitors to the resource.

Snack video:

Any webmaster has come across such a concept as Yandex search results update, abbreviated as (AP). Why Yandex AP? Yes, because at Google the concept of an AP simply does not exist. Of course, it exists, but Google’s search results are updated every day, the databases are constantly updated in real time, unlike Yandex. Even in terms of indexing, Google is much ahead. It is enough to add a new page to Google addurilka, and the page will already appear in the Google index within 10 minutes.

This trick will not work with Yandex; you will have to wait for the search database to be updated so that your pages are included in the main index. There is an add-on, but it only shows the main robot that a new article has been published on the site and it’s time for the robot to look at the resource and index it, so that later during the next AP the page will be included in the main index. That is, robots constantly go to sites and collect all the information and put it in a special box, so to speak, and then when the time comes, they update the search database, and all the information comes out. After which the positions of resources begin to rise or fall, backlinks appear, new pages are added to the index, etc. This is done in order to reduce the load on the servers. Google has powerful servers that allow them to update their databases in real time, as they say.

True, Yandex has solved the problem with slow indexing of new pages. As I said, pages are included in the index only after a Yandex text update, which usually happens once a week. It’s very inconvenient, especially when a news site wrote the latest hot news, and it ends up in the index and becomes available in search for users after the update. For this case, Yasha has fast robots that walk around sites and collect fresh information and throw it directly into the index, and the pages will be searchable. Typically, these fast robots live on sites that are updated frequently. You can also attract them to your resource with special services where robots live quickly. These robots quickly index the article and usually immediately throw it out closer to the TOP 10, especially if the material is new, and then when the update occurs, the page takes its well-deserved place in the search. Well, it seems that we have more or less managed to explain the principles of the update, and we can move on to their types.

Types of Yandex Updates

1. TIC. AP does not occur so often, usually once a month, sometimes it doesn’t happen for two months or even more. There is no pattern, it is not known when the next updates will be. The size of the TIC is influenced by the number of backlinks that lead to your resource. Of course, links from donors must be high-quality and related in topic to your site, then the links will be taken into account.

2. VIC. Weighted Citation Index is designed to measure the static weight of each page of your resource. It is updated constantly, but it is not yet possible to measure, let alone find out, the VIC.

3. Yandex Catalog update. Many people are surprised, of course, but there is also a Yandex Catalog AP, after which you can either see your site in the catalog if you added it there, or not see it if your site has lost trust and was removed from the catalog.

4. Updating the image search database. For this purpose, there is a special robot that is engaged in indexing pictures, and then an AP occurs, and sites that are promoted by pictures collect tr

5. Favicon update. If anyone doesn’t know, a favicon is a small picture that is located on the left side of the search results opposite the title. If anyone doesn't understand, look at the screenshot.

Well, if you put a favicon, it will not appear in the search results immediately, but after the favicon update occurs. I won’t say how often this AP occurs, but mine appeared about two weeks after I installed it.

6.Update of mirrors. Yandex has a robot that collects information on merging the site with the main mirror. To make it clear, I’ll give you a simple example... a website. For search engines, these are completely different sites, and they need to be glued together (identify the main mirror) so that the entire weight of the link mass goes to the site with www, or without www. If you don’t make a main mirror, then the transmitted weight can be divided into your site with www and without www. Duplicate pages will also be created. Don’t forget, when you redirect to the main mirror, immediately install the main mirror in the Yandex and Google webmaster.

7. Reference AP. The link update, like the main update, often occurs on the same day, and usually once a week. The reference one serves to collect all backlinks, in order to then transfer this data to the AP TIC, and for the main update, which, taking into account the links, builds its search results.

8. Text, as you may have guessed, is designed to add new pages to the main search results that will be available for search. This also usually happens on the same day with the link and main search results.

9. Behavioral factors. Many people say that there is no AP PF, but I fundamentally disagree. Yandex, like Google, takes into account behavioral factors, and information on them is also collected, which is used to build search results.

10. Updating the search algorithm. The worst AP for a webmaster. During this, a new calculation of relevance occurs, new algorithms are introduced for ranking sites.

Where to see?

1. On the website tools.promosite.ru at tools.promosite.ru/updates/

As you can see, the usual search database up occurs first, then the text and link ones immediately follow. You can also view AP behavioral factors here. Screen

below.

2. In Yandex itself. Yasha himself can inform you in the form of an email about major updates to the search database. To do this, you need to add your site to Yandex Webmaster. After adding, enter this URL webmaster.yandex.ru/settings/messages/types.xml into the address bar and check the boxes next to “Global” and “Search database update” and save the changes.

3. Updates of TIC, PR and regular AP search database can be viewed at pr-cy.ru

There are plenty of places to look at updates; I won’t rewrite everything, since there’s no point. I wrote down the most important places where I look. Regarding the AP favicon, Yandex Catalog, mirror AP, VIC, AP Pictures and updating the search algorithm, I did not write places where you can look at them, since I don’t know them. Yes, even if there are such services, I honestly very much doubt the accuracy of the data.

Hello, dear readers of the blog site. Any novice webmaster is faced almost immediately with such a concept as Yandex search engine update. Why webmaster of RuNet? Well, because Google, which dominates in a very large number of countries in the rest of the world, does not have such a thing as an update, except that you can only talk about an update, but again it’s a toolbar update, because the real value of the static weight of all pages indexed by this search engine system, changes constantly (in real time).

Yandex, in addition to updating the search results (changing the positions of sites for the overwhelming number of search queries), also has ap Tietz, i.e. updating the value, which you can read about at the link provided. In fact, Titz is a kind of indicator of the trustworthiness of a site, and the larger it is, the more trust it will have on the part of search engines (most likely). Titz is also important for those who sell links from their sites, because their price significantly depends on the value of Titz.

What is an update to the Yandex search database?

Well, webmasters in RuNet also have something to look forward to. For example, there are such concepts as updating favicons, Ya.Catalog, mirror and pictures. These ups are not of interest to everyone, and certainly not all the time, but sometimes it is relevant, for example, when you move to a new domain, change the favicon, pay to be added to YAK, or get a significant share of traffic from image search.

Let's start, perhaps, with Yandex search database updates. How often does this phenomenon occur? How do you know if an incident has already happened? And why, in fact, monitor these same updates? Similar questions arise for novice RuNet webmasters who are beginning to get acquainted with the harsh reality of website promotion for the Yandex search engine. I had them too and it’s normal.

The essence of the updates is as follows. Unlike Google, Yandex does not have such impressive hardware and physical power to update search results several times a day, taking into account all newly indexed pages and found backlinks to sites. Therefore, he is forced to make some tricks that will reduce the rather high load on his servers.

But here you will need to have at least a general idea (if you have it, then continue reading, and if not, then follow the link to see the overall picture). What does Yandex do? Of course, like Google, it constantly indexes new pages on the Internet and re-indexes updated ones, and also finds more and more backlinks for different sites.

But... He does not immediately take all this wealth into account, but puts it in a not very long box, so that once every few days (sometimes the period between ups can exceed ten days, but not often) he pleases you and me with another update. Here are the dates of the official ups of the RuNet mirror search database for several months, so that you can estimate their frequency:

What then do we have the opportunity to observe in the search results between the ups? Generally, banal cache.

To exaggerate, the first user who sets a search query after the next update activates an algorithm that, after calculations, produces the resulting results (a list of pages relevant to a given query), which is immediately cached and when the same query is entered again, the search engine algorithm is not involved, and the list of sites stored in the cache is retrieved (output). This reduces the load on Yandex servers and allows you to match your older brother Google with less hardware power.

At the time of the next update, all the new information accumulated since the last update (page texts and links to them) will be taken into account when ranking (read more about it in search engine results) and the list of relevant pages for each search query will be saved again in the Yandex cache in order to be promptly shown to users until the next update of the search database. Convenient, simple and economical.

But this is all, of course, very much exaggerated and simplified. Yandex probably worked on this principle ten years ago or even more. In addition, since the end of 2012, Yandex switched to personalized search results, when different lists of sites for the same request are shown to different users with different, but quite large, search histories. Now it is gaining more and more power and updates are becoming blurry.

However, when the percentage of search queries for which the results change exceeds several tens of percent, we can assume that the incident has taken place. How to recognize this very moment? Well, read about it below.

And we will still dwell on the fact that what is Titz update? Everything is much simpler here. It is believed that the overall value of Tits of all sites indexed by Yandex does not change, but is only redistributed between them. Moreover, this redistribution does not occur permanently, but again at certain, not particularly regulated intervals (from twice a month to once every two months).

You can see the dates of the latest ups, which do not have a stable periodicity:

Titz is influenced by the number and quality of backlinks leading to your site from other resources that, in the opinion of the search engine, are similar in topic to it.

Yandex constantly collects data on such links, but the TIC values for almost all Runet sites do not change between updates (sometimes, however, as punishment the citation index can be reset to zero, but this is force majeure). Then suddenly the value of the thematic citation index is recalculated and it will be safely stored in the cache (after some shaking and shrinkage or adjustment), until the next update. Trite.

Other types of Yandex updates and more

You can judge the frequency of PR updates from this screenshot:

In addition, there are the following types of updates, which some webmasters monitor to one degree or another:

  1. Yandex Catalog update— adding new sites and removing those that have lost trust from the most prestigious directory of the Runet. If you are expecting your resource to appear in the YAC or have reason to fear its exclusion, then it is worth monitoring the update of the database of this directory.
  2. Updating the image search database— a separate Yandex robot performs indexing of images on the Internet, but the results based on pictures, like the main results of this search engine, have pronounced updates. If your resource has every reason to promote and receive traffic from images, then it makes sense to track this app in order to evaluate exactly what results the actions you took brought.
  3. Up favicons— in Yandex search results, by tradition, a Favicon taken from this site is displayed to the left of the page title and description. In fact, it is precisely because of this feature that your humble servant is still on the Yandex needle, because it is very clearly visible those sites that I trust and to which I go to look for an answer in the first place.

Before this, I already wrote a detailed article about where and where it should be shoved. However, the number one search engine in RuNet will show the favicon of your new site (or the updated icon of the old one) in the search results not immediately after indexing it, but only after the next Favicon update, which does not happen often.

Mirrorer update— Yandex has a special robot that is responsible for gluing so-called mirrors. The simplest example of mirrors is www..ru (they will need to be glued together, i.e. determine the main mirror - either, or, or).

A situation may arise where a site moves to another domain due to falling under a filter or due to other force majeure circumstances. At the same time, you indicate the new main mirror in robots.txt of the old and new domains and do the same in the Ya.Webmaster panel. However, the mirrors will not stick together immediately, but only in the next step of the mirror operator.

In addition, the update of the search engine database itself can be causal in nature, and therefore the following are distinguished:

  1. Text up- i.e. accounting of all texts of new and updated pages included in the index.
  2. Reference— taking into account all new backlinks to sites whose pages are included in the ranking.
  3. AP behavioral factors- a somewhat mythical type of ups, which is caused by updated user data on sites participating in the ranking.
  4. Search algorithm update- the most terrible one, in terms of possible consequences, because in this case new texts, links and behavioral factors are not only taken into account, but the very principle of calculating relevance changes. Yandex even began to name such global updates based on the principle of the game “Cities”.

We started from afar - from Magadan (May 2008) and continued with Nakhodka, Arzamas, Snezhinsk, Konakovo, Obninsk, Krasnodar, Reykjavik. Now, since December 2012, Kaliningrad has ruled the roost, and then there will be something with a “D”. Kaliningrad is trying to create personal results for each user, focusing on his preferences, which the search engine has identified by following him for some time.

During a regular search database update, a text update usually follows first, and after a while a link update. Behavioral ones are updated quite rarely or they cannot always be identified. It's pretty clearly visible on the website Yandex tracking enthusiast (Evgeniy Trofimenko is such a smart comrade that it is not always clear what he is talking about when speaking at conferences):

True, it’s not worth going into this too much, because the very fact of the update is important, so that you can start and draw conclusions about the correctness of your chosen course of website promotion. However, of course, it’s not worth judging the dynamics of development by one up, because the search engine has enormous inertia and you should always wait a few ups to draw conclusions or start tearing your hair out.

How and where to track Yandex updates

The question arises, how track Yandex updates? It turns out that there are several options that will allow you to do this.

Yandex itself generously sends messages about updating the search database if you have also checked the “Forward to email” checkbox in the “Search database update” field in the settings:

In this case, the message will come to your email when all the transition processes and shaking in the search results for most queries have stopped, and you can calmly start removing positions and determining how bad or good this up has become for you.

There are also alternative ways to subscribe to updates. For example, the well-known resource Seobudget offers you a tool called ", where you can clearly see all the previous SERP updates, YAK, Tits and PR:

And subscribe to the newsletter(having previously registered on this service) by email or in the form of SMS messages to a mobile phone (will cost 3 rubles per message) information about the update of the search database, Yandex catalogue, Titsa or PR (of your choice):

Well, you can also, for example, add the informer code located just below to your website in order to be constantly aware of all new updates and inform your readers about it:

Also, in my opinion, it is very convenient to learn and discuss updates on, the most convenient of which is probably Serch. There's a special one Yandex Apam section, for the appearance of materials in which you can subscribe:

Good luck to you! See you soon on the pages of the blog site

What search engine optimization factors affect website promotion and to what extent?

Among optimizers, you can often hear such expressions as “update” or “Yandex/Google AP”. But not all beginners are familiar with this concept. And if you are just starting to get acquainted with search engine optimization, then it is worth learning a little about the terminology of this area of business. So what are search engine updates and what are they?

The word “update” comes from Up to date (from English - “relevant for today’s date”, “keeping up with the times”), and the verb to update is translated exactly as “update to the most current state”. From an SEO point of view, an update is an update of data in search engine databases, which entails a change in the positions of sites in search results.

If the web resource has improved its position after the work, then the result of the promotion is positive. If the site’s position has decreased, then the result is negative, which means that the promotion strategy should be reconsidered and unused growth points should be worked out.

How often do Yandex and Google updates happen? The Google search database updates quite often - every day, or even more often. Yandex updates are eagerly awaited by all optimizers, as they happen less frequently, and this is a real event. There is no clear calendar of search engine updates, you can only predict their certain frequency.

Monitoring Yandex and Google updates

It is easier to monitor changes using specialized services. Each of the tools has its own approach to determining updates (the sum of the difference in values, the similarity of content according to the Oliver algorithm, the Levenshtein algorithm, pairwise comparison of array elements), which makes their analytics complementary.

All update analyzers also operate with the concept of “degree of change in output”, or “storm”. The storm refers to the degree of change in search results as a percentage, i.e. which documents and sites appeared in the top positions for certain queries, and which disappeared or moved lower. By how much the search results have changed, one can judge the emergence of a new algorithm for ranking information in search engines. Usually the so-called storm is measured in values from 10 to 40%. Anything less is a weak update. And if the changes are more than 40%, most likely, a new algorithm could not have happened without the appearance of a new algorithm.

At the same time, there is another option that allows you to find out whether Yandex has had an update. This is the Yandex.Webmaster panel. Go to the settings of this service, configure the desired item (“Search database update”), and you will be aware of the updates.

Let's start with the first part:

Why analyze updates?

Webmasters regularly monitor search engine updates, analyze the consequences and effectiveness of the chosen strategy, and adjust it if necessary. It is necessary to analyze the update, because in fact this is the only source of operational information that helps make correct decisions. For example, you purchased links using one strategy, but after the update the positions dropped or the site fell under the search engine filter. In this case, it is necessary to reconsider link tactics. Or you decided to adjust the content on the promoted pages; after the text update, the positions on the pages with new content dropped, and on the pages whose content was saved, on the contrary, they increased. This means that it is necessary to reconsider the format of the texts.

Thanks to the analysis of updates, you can identify promotion errors, select the optimal strategy, and subsequently attract truly interested visitors to your website.

We wish you only good updates and effective strategies!

A SERP update is an update to a page with search results. The word “update” itself is translated as “update”. What is meant by the words Yandex issue update? This is a change in the information provided by this search engine (PS search engine).

How is Yandex search results updated?

Search engine robots crawl sites with a certain regularity and update information about resources in their databases. This is a long process. It is worth taking into account the huge number of sites on the World Wide Web, as well as the varying frequency of their visits by Yandex spiders. Information accumulates and at some point the PS algorithms change the internal rankings of sites. The result of these adjustments is a change in the order of web pages for specific user requests.

In reality, this process should be divided into separate threads. Yandex collects not only the text content of pages, but also carries out:

  • picture analysis;
  • links of sites to each other;
  • attendance.
It is known that user actions and analysis of new page content are important. All rating recalculations require significant computing power.

How often does Yandex issue update occur?

It is impossible to give an exact answer to this question today. There are a number of services that “predict” search engine updates, but in reality this is rather an extrapolation of the information received about previously carried out SERP updates. For example, if significant changes were noted regularly once a month, then it is logical to assume that the trend will continue in the future. In fact, for each direction (text, images, links, etc.) the updates do not have to match.

The PS itself has quite a lot of robots. There are “fast” ones that add pages to the index almost instantly. In fact, minutes after the publication of a new page on the resource, it may already appear in the search results, and then begin to “float” through the positions. Example: news and news feed. For one request made 15 minutes apart, you can get a completely different set of resources. This is a special case when Yandex tries to provide the most “fresh” and relevant information.

For a number of high-frequency queries with established leaders, it is almost impossible to notice something like this on the first pages. Text updates there usually occur in the interval of 3 - 10 days.

Frequency of updates (taken from pr-cy.ru)

As a rule, for most sites with high-quality information, it takes 2-3 months to get to the first page of search results for medium-frequency queries, but the situation can change for various reasons. The myth about the Yandex sandbox appeared precisely because of the low update speed. In fact, this is precisely an update, the result of which is the appearance of a previously unknown PS site in the search results.

Often the rapid rise or fall of a site is associated with a change in the main Yandex ranking mechanisms.
