Many of us sometimes need to open, read or edit a PDF file. This is especially true for journalists. Initially, it was believed that the best-known program to handle this task was Adobe Reader, which in principle is true, because... this program has the most powerful set of utilities for working with PDF files. However, the flexibility and power of the program is fully compensated by its huge size (about 205 MB).

You can object and say that there is a so-called “light version” - Adobe Reader Lite, which is both faster and “lighter” - about 63 MB. But this is quite a lot, in comparison with the programs listed below, thanks to which you can open pdf files, read pdf files or even edit pdf files.

Let's take a look at these programs.

1) Foxit Reader.

Most likely, today this is practically the “lightest” (3.5 MB) and fastest program with which you can easily open and read any pdf file. The program works great with Windows Me/2000/XP/2003/Vista.

BullZip is a fairly solid program that has been used by many users for a long time. So BullZip has definitely proven that it's worth paying attention to.

Warning: The installer includes OpenCandy. Also during the installation process you receive the PDF Architect 2 kit, which at first may seem like a powerful and necessary addition.
