Ariston hotpoint brush automatic washing machine breakdown. How to solve problems with an Ariston washing machine. Heating element is faulty

We continue the series of articles on repairing washing machines with your own hands!
The Hotpoint Ariston range is very diverse and includes two dozen washing machines.

As an example: family 105 - arsl, arusl, arsf, armxxl, aqsf, then ariston 5050, 109 and 129.
Let's decipher ARSL 105 (A - Ariston, R - Russian assembly, S - depth 40 cm, L - no display, 10 spin speed 1000 rpm, 5 - noise level).

To be honest, everything is confusing and hard to make out.
And troubleshooting during repairs is similar in all copies.

There are machines that have a liquid crystal screen, then if it breaks down there is an error code on it.
And if it’s not there, then look at the flashing indicators of the front control panel!

  • To determine the error code, you need to sum up the blinking LEDs according to the figure.

  • Well, now the most interesting thing - error codes for Hotpoint Ariston washing machines with DIY fixes!

F01 - the signal between the control board and the engine is lost.

Make sure the network voltage is stable. It must be at least 210 Volts.

The motor control circuit is a rather capricious component of the washing machine mechanism. It would be a good idea to check the contacts yourself for corrosion and moisture. It is advisable to check every connection from the control board to the motor. It is possible that the problem may even arise from a loose motor block.

Using a tester, we measure the control voltages on the motor block.

The thyristor may have become unusable. Check the motor terminals.

Control board with brushed motor:

Control board with asynchronous 3-phase motor:

1 NTC thermistor. 2 Capacitor. 3 Throttle. 4 Diode bridge. 5 Power supply. 6 engine control processor. (Q1-Q6) - IGBT transistors.

F02 - lack of signal from the engine tachogenerator and electronic module.

We also check the engine block and module connector.

We make sure that the tachogenerator is working properly:

The resistance of the contact group in a quiet state should be about 70 Ohms. Without removing the probes from the coil terminals, rotate the motor shaft. The resistance must change. If this happens, then the tachogenerator is working.

F03 - break in the temperature sensor (thermistor), closing of the washing heating element relay.

The sensor itself rarely fails. Usually there is no signal from the board (temperature sensor connector contacts)

F05 - the drain pump or pressure switch (level sensor) does not work.

About 80 percent of the time, a clog (filter, drain hose) or pump is to blame.

We clean the filter by removing the front panel with a flat screwdriver and twisting it:

The pump impeller must be clean and free of debris:

Place the washing machine on its side and separate the pipe from the tank and pump:

If error F05 pops up again, the reason is electrical, namely, why doesn’t the sump pump work?

We take a multimeter in our hands and start the draining program and measure the voltage at the pump terminals. It should be equal to 220 volts.

Its presence tells us that the pump needs to be replaced.

F06 - in Diagnostic models indicates non-working buttons.

A rare mistake and here everything is clear.

F07, F08 - heating element is not in water, does not work (burnt out or broken).

Make sure there is water in the tank by looking into the drum. Next, remove the back wall and check the heating element with a tester:

F04, F08 - pressure switch (water level switch).

Presence of signal from connector J3.

Check the condition of the level sensor:

Contacts-2-4 are closed - level “EMPTY TANK”
- contacts 2-3 are closed - level “FULL TANK”
- contacts 2-1 are closed - “OVERFLOW” level (not less than half the level of the loading hatch glass.

Remove the top cover by unscrewing the two screws at the back. This sensor is located on top:

Why is it needed?

To adjust the water level in the tank: low, medium and high. Protection against overflow of the tank is also provided.

How to check?
We just blow into it. You should hear clicks. There can be three of them. It depends on the water levels provided by the program: economical, delicate, half load.

F09 The memory card of the electronic board is faulty.

F10 - water intake time exceeded.

The filler pipe from the detergent cuvette to the tank may be clogged, or the water fill valve may not be working properly.

Also check the level sensor (see above).

F11 problem with the drain pump.

The pump winding resistance should be about 170 Ohms - measure with a tester.
Follow the instructions for error F05

F12 - there is no signal between the control board and the program selector.

Carry out an external inspection of the board for damage to the elements.

If no burnt components have been identified, diagnostics of the control module and its flashing are required.

F13, F14, F15 the drying element is faulty (washers with a drying function).

F16 - the breakdown is due to the blocking of the drum (vertical loading machine).

F17 - problem with the hatch lock.

There is no power to the door lock - ring the contacts.

F18 - board processor.

Module diagnostics required.

H20 - error no water flow.

It often happens that the inlet filter is clogged and there is no water passage due to dirt.

Unscrew the inlet hose and clean the filter mesh at the inlet

In addition, check the water pressure at the inlet of the solenoid inlet valve and its serviceability.

More common Hotpoint Ariston malfunctions:

  • The washing program does not start, the door lock light blinks frequently:

It gives an error and drains the water.

We change the motor brushes.
We place the washing machine on its side so that there is free access from below.
Attention! The detergent dispenser must be located at the bottom to prevent water from getting on the control board!

Disconnect the power connectors and unscrew the engine from the tank.

Don't forget to clean the collector and between the motor lamellas. They are covered with a copious layer of graphite dust. It needs to be removed. The most convenient way to do this is with a vacuum cleaner. The engine manifold should be cleaned with the abrasive part of a dishwashing sponge, and the degree of wear should be visually checked.

We install the engine in place, plug in the connectors, but do not put on the drive belt. It is necessary to perform the brush grinding procedure without load. To do this, we start the spin mode at the minimum available speed, visually and auditorily monitoring the operation of the engine. It should be smooth and without excessive sparking. Then we put on the belt and once again start the spin cycle at minimum speed with an empty drum.

  • Water does not flow, the drum does not spin (the motor does not work):

The door is locked, code F-01 appears on the display, error H20

It is necessary to properly organize the drainage system. The tip of the hose should be at a height of 60 to 100 cm.

In addition, a break in the stream must be ensured when draining to avoid water being sucked back into the SM.

Almost every modern automatic washing machine has a function that allows it to notify the user about the occurrence of certain problems using a special system code.

Depending on the specific model, the code is either displayed on the pre-installed LCD display (if equipped) or transmitted using flashing indicators.

Ariston washing machines are no exception. After reading the information below, you will learn what error codes can tell you and how to correctly decipher a particular alert.

What information can error codes provide?

Modern models of Ariston washing machines are equipped with a self-diagnosis function that allows you to determine the presence of a malfunction and notify the user about it using the appropriate code.

Understanding the meaning of existing codes, the owner will be able to independently identify the breakdown and, if possible, take measures to eliminate it, without spending money on the services of third-party diagnosticians and repairmen.

If there is no display, the code will be displayed by flashing LED indicators. For example, the light flashed 5 times at short intervals, then paused and repeated the cycle of flashing.

In this case, the machine tries to notify the user about the presence of an error code 05. If the machine is equipped with a display, the code will be displayed directly on it, which is more convenient.

Thus, knowledge of the error codes of Ariston washing machines will allow the owner to independently understand what happened to his equipment without calling a technician. The information obtained will make it possible to draw conclusions about the severity of existing faults.

For example, the machine may try to convey to the user information about the lack of water or the hatch cover not being tightly closed - is it really advisable to call a technician in such a situation, when everything, as a rule, can be corrected on your own?

Along with this, breakdowns can be very significant, and they cannot be eliminated without qualified third-party help. In this case, knowledge of codes will also be very useful.

Remember: Repairing a washing machine yourself is an important and responsible undertaking that requires the appropriate knowledge and skills. The following information about error codes for Ariston washing machines is provided for informational purposes only.

When attempting self-repair, all responsibility for possible further actions will be borne solely by you. If you are not confident in your own qualifications, it is better to immediately contact the service center so as not to aggravate the problem.

Ariston washing machine error codes

F01

This error appears due to a short circuit in the machine’s engine control circuit. Before starting the repair, the technician checks whether water has entered the contacts of the controller connected via a harness to the drive motor.

If, after eliminating the moisture, the situation does not return to normal, the electronic controller and the directly failed drive motor (if required) are sequentially replaced.

F02

Indicates that there is no signal about engine rotation on the electronic controller. To solve the problem, perform the following steps in sequence:

  • make sure that there is no jamming of the rotor (most often occurs due to jamming of the drum bearings);
  • make sure the quality of the connection between the controller and the motor;
  • take readings of the resistance of the tacho generator winding (normally it is within the range of 115-170 Ohms, it may differ depending on the controller model);
  • check the condition of the harness that connects the motor and controller, as well as the connectors (this point is relevant for machines equipped with an asynchronous drive motor);
  • replace the faulty motor and controller.

F03

Indicates a stuck heating element relay or a broken temperature sensor.

First, you need to check the quality of the connection between the controller and the temperature sensor.

Secondly, measure the resistance of the sensor (normally at 20 degrees this indicator is around 20 kOhm). Thirdly, sequentially replace the sensor and controller.

F04

Indicates a breakdown of the water level sensor. First of all, you should check the quality of communication between the controller and the sensor, and also make sure that the sensor itself is working properly. If no faults are identified, a serial and controller test is performed.

F05

Indicates a malfunction of the drain pump or a failure of the water level sensor. There are several steps you need to take.

  • Make sure the connection between the controller and the pump is good.
  • Make sure that voltage is supplied to the contacts of the drain pump when it is supposed to be turned on.
  • If there is no voltage, check the drain pump (for this, 220 V is supplied to the device), make sure its connectors and controller are in good condition.
  • Check the condition of the level sensor and the quality of its connection to the controller.
  • Examine the condition of the drain hose and filter for blockages.
  • Perform sequential replacement of faulty drain pump, level sensor, and controller.

F06

Indicates that there are button errors. First, they check the quality of the contact between the control panel of the washing machine and the controller, and then make sure that the buttons are working properly. The control panel and controller are being successively replaced.

F07

Indicates that the heating element is not in water. As in previous cases, the technician checks the quality of the connection between the controller and the level sensor. After this, the sensor itself is checked.

Then the condition of the heating element is studied. If no faults are identified, the heating element, sensor, and controller are successively replaced.

F08

Indicates a malfunction of the level sensor or “sticking” of the heating element relay when the tank is empty. First of all, you need to check the level sensor, then the quality of the connection between the controller and the heating element.

If necessary, replace the sensor or heating element. If there are no faults, the controller is replaced.

F09

Indicates a failure in the non-volatile memory. To fix the problem, the controller is replaced or the chip responsible for the operation of non-volatile memory is replaced/reflashed.

F10

Indicates that there is no signal from the water level sensor. In this case, you need to make sure the quality of the connection between the controller and the sensor, then check the sensor itself for serviceability and, if all else fails, perform a sequential replacement of the sensor and controller.

F11

Indicates that there is no connection with the drain pump. Firstly, the correct connection of the drain pump to the electronic controller of the Ariston washing machine is checked. Secondly, the drain pump itself is studied.

As a rule, the test comes down to measuring the resistance of the device winding. If the checks do not yield results, the pump and controller are replaced sequentially. Additionally, the water level sensor may need to be checked and replaced.

F12

Indicates a lack of communication between the controller and the display module. If your Ariston machine is equipped with an EVO-II model controller, you need to do the following:

  • make sure the quality of the connection between the controller and the display module;
  • perform sequential replacement of the controller and indicator.
  • If the machine has an EVO-I model controller, do the following:
  • make sure the controller connectors are reliable;
  • repeat the actions in a sequence similar to that discussed above.

F13

Indicates the presence of breakdowns in the drying process control circuit. First, you need to make sure that there is a correct connection between the appropriate temperature sensor and the washing machine controller. Secondly, make sure that the specified elements are in good condition and, if necessary, replace them sequentially.

F14

Appears when the dryer refuses to turn on for one reason or another. First of all, the reliability of the connection between the heating element responsible for the drying processes and the controller is checked. If necessary, the heating element and controller are replaced sequentially.

F15

Also indicates problems with the drying mode. In this case, you need to first check connector CN1 for contact. Secondly, the level sensor is checked for serviceability and, if necessary, replaced with a new working device.

F17

Indicates that the washing machine door is open or cannot close. The sequence of diagnostic activities is as follows:

  • the area between the controller connector contacts and the loading door lock is checked for voltage;
  • the serviceability of the micro-switch of the lock is checked (the door is closed at the same time);
  • The latching of the loading door lock is being studied.

If necessary, the blocker and controller are replaced.

F18

Indicates that there is a problem with the microprocessor. In this case, the only possible solution to the problem is often to replace the controller.

Now you know what the main error codes for Ariston washing machines mean and you can independently draw conclusions about the problem that has arisen and the possibility of fixing it at home.

When the washing machine does not show signs of life, that is, it does not turn on, most people begin to think that the machine has burned out, will require expensive repairs, or a completely unplanned expensive purchase. In fact, everything may not be so serious, because the causes of this malfunction can be different, some of them can be eliminated without calling a technician. Why the Ariston brand machine does not turn on, we’ll talk about this.

Causes of malfunction

Any washing machine may not turn on at one moment, without giving any signals of a breakdown. If the washing machine does not turn on, the reasons for this may be the following:

  • malfunction of the socket, plug or power outage;
  • The power cord of the machine is burnt out;
  • the noise filter or start button is burnt out;
  • electronic module malfunction;
  • The wires inside the machine are broken.

Electrical check

The banal reason that the machine does not turn on is the lack of electricity in the apartment. It happens that you have planned laundry, started to turn on the machine, but there is no light in the apartment, you don’t know about it yet. It's easy to check. Find out whether there is no light only in your apartment or the whole house is turned off; maybe the problem is in your electrical wiring.

The second problem that causes this malfunction is a broken socket. The contacts in the outlet may burn out if it is old. The serviceability of the socket is checked by connecting a simple table lamp to it. If the lamp does not light up or lights up but blinks, then the problem is clear - it’s time to change the socket. Otherwise, you need to look for the reason in the washing machine itself.

The first thing you need to check is the power cord, in particular the cord plug. The wire can be damaged if the voltage is overloaded or if it is strongly bent. To check it, you need to use a multimeter to ring three wires running inside the insulation. We described how to do this correctly in the article. The FPS check is carried out in approximately the same way, only in order to check the mains capacitor you will need to open the top cover of the Ariston washing machine.

Why do you need a network capacitor at all? The modern automatic washing machine Ariston is simply crammed with various electrical and electronics. Moreover, its electronics are quite sensitive, the slightest voltage drop can cause harm. The capacitor's task is to partially dampen these differences, thus saving expensive microcircuits. If the FPS burns out, then power is not supplied to the main modules of the washing machine, and as a result, it does not turn on. How to check a capacitor?

  1. If the washing machine is already turned off, take a Phillips screwdriver and go around the back of the washing machine.
  2. In the upper right and left corners of the case, you need to unscrew the two screws that hold the top cover of the machine.
  3. In order for the washing machine to release the top cover, you need to place your palms on it and push it towards you, and then lift it up.
  4. At the top, under the cover at the end of the power cord, you will see a barrel-shaped part; this is the capacitor.
  5. You need to remove the wiring from its contacts, and then pull the capacitor itself out of the housing.
  6. Let's set the multimeter to ringing mode and ring the FPS for breakdown; if there is no breakdown, you can measure its resistance. If it shows 0 or 1, the part has burned out.

Attention! A washing machine can burn out if non-original spare parts are installed on it, FPS is no exception. To make the Ariston washing machine work and work well in the future, purchase and install an original capacitor.

Button malfunction

If the operating conditions are quite harsh, and you have had the Ariston washing machine for quite a long time, it is not surprising that its on/off button may burn out. In general, if your washing machine model does not provide protection for the front panel from moisture, then you need to take measures to ensure that water does not get on the switches and buttons. Otherwise, the contacts will oxidize and the button will stop working.

The on/off button is checked in turn immediately after the power cord and the FPS. We have already removed the top cover, let's proceed to dismantling the button we are interested in. Removing the power button is very simple. First, pull the wires off the button body. Then use a flat screwdriver to carefully pry the latch assembly and remove the button.

The first thing to do after dismantling the button is to ring it and then measure the resistance. If the button does not ring or does not produce an adequate resistance value, the button is faulty and needs to be replaced. Some technicians advise cleaning the contacts of the button and then ringing it again, there is a chance that it will work. But we, for our part, advise you to change it, it’s more reliable.

An on/off button for an Ariston washing machine can be ordered from an online store relatively inexpensively.

Checking the control board

The culprit that the Ariston washing machine does not turn on may well be the control board microcircuit. The control module of this washing machine is quite complex and it is almost impossible to recognize which specific element has burned out unless you are an expert. However, it is necessary to inspect the control board. In some cases, there are breakdowns of the control board, which are immediately visible, such as in the picture below.

To inspect the board, we need to pull it out. How to do it?

  • remove the powder tray;
  • next to the niche for the cuvette we find 2 screws and unscrew them;
  • now unscrew 4 more screws from the top (at the end of the panel under the top cover of the washing machine);
  • gently pull the panel up and remove it.
  • use a screwdriver to pry up the plastic latches of the panel and disassemble it.
  • Having disassembled the panel body, remove the board.

Important! When disassembling the control panel, it is better not to touch the wires, so as not to confuse anything later.

We carefully inspect the board. If there are no visible defects on it, then there are probably hidden faults that a specialist can help detect. Take the board to a service center for inspection and repair.

Other faults

Often people incorrectly formulate the problem that happened with their washing machine. They say that the machine does not turn on, but in fact, the machine turns on, but the washing modes do not start, that is, after turning on the machine does not react to anything. At the same time, the “key” indicator may flash on Ariston washing machines. This indicates a breakdown of the control board and a malfunction of the command device. With such a breakdown, it is better to contact a specialist than to try to complicate the situation.

So, when the washing machine does not turn on, the first thing to do is check the electrical system in the house, and therefore disassemble the machine. And then, only if you know how to work with a multimeter. In general, it is better to immediately entrust problems with the electronics of the washing machine to a professional. Good luck!

Breakdowns among Ariston washing machines are a rare occurrence, because manufacturers have long proven their equipment to be the most reliable. But still, even such excellent equipment can fail after a long period of use. Malfunctions of the Ariston washing machine are in most cases typical and come down to replacing failed elements.

The main malfunctions of Ariston washing machines

Failure of the heating element. Thanks to this part, the water is heated for greater efficiency of the washing process. If a failure occurs for this reason, the machine itself will determine this and issue the corresponding failure code (F03). This could be either a malfunction of the element itself or accompanying breaks in the power circuit due to burnt-out terminals. To eliminate the breakdown, you need to replace the burnt-out heating element or correct the terminals.

Bearing failures. This malfunction is typical for almost all car models of any manufacturer, including the Ariston hotpoint model.

You can see how this is done in the video or in this article:

Constant use of the machine causes the bearing shaft to wear out and moisture may enter it. The result is deformation of the part and incorrect operation of the washing machine.

It is not difficult to notice this breakdown - the machine begins to make a lot of noise during the spin phase. The sound is significantly different from normal operation. This damage can be easily eliminated by replacing new bearings. But working with faulty bearings can lead to serious problems - failure of the drum fastening, damage to the tank. Such violations entail a major overhaul of the equipment.

Regardless of vertical or horizontal loading, model range, and other indicators, it may happen that the machine refuses to drain or fill with water. The reasons may be blockages or burnt-out pump windings.

Sometimes, in order to improve the operation, it is enough to clean the filters; if their further operation is impossible, replace them. If everything is normal with the filters, but the water still does not drain, you need to replace the pump.

Malfunctions of the Ariston Hotpoint washing machine can manifest themselves in water leaks. The problem most often lies in the water intake or drainage hoses, depending on at what stage of the wash the leak is noticed. To fix the problem, you need to inspect the hose attachments to the machine.

Most often you need to tighten the fixing nut or change the rubber seal. Less commonly, the culprits may be hatch cuffs and pipes. In this case, the problematic part should be replaced.

Noise when operating the machine with normal bearings. In such situations, you need to check whether the machine is level. If not, you need to level its placement, and to reduce the level of vibration you can put a rubber mat. If this is done and the car is still noisy, the problem may be with the shock absorbers or the tank belt.

Washing machine fault codes

Ariston washing machines are equipped with a display that displays information about the washing process and mode. But there is another irreplaceable function of such a display. It will also display any breakdowns that have occurred under fault codes. Each such code is responsible for some kind of breakdown, and knowing their meanings will help you quickly identify and fix the problem that has arisen.

The following codes may appear on the displays of Ariston Hotpoint or Aqualtis washing machines:

  • F01: indicates a short circuit in the drive motor of the device. It is necessary to check the contacts of the controller; moisture should not be allowed to get on the motor. If a breakdown is detected, the electronic controller or drive motor should be replaced.
  • F02: The electronic controller has no information about the operation of the motor. Inspecting the motor rotor (its operation may be blocked by jammed bearings) will help determine the problem; also check the connections of all parts. The breakdown can be eliminated by replacing the motor or controller.
  • F03: malfunction of the sensor responsible for temperature indicators, heating element. To eliminate this code, you need to check whether the controller is connected to the temperature sensor correctly, and see if the sensor has electrical resistance. If all these manipulations do not resolve the problem, you need to replace the sensor.
  • F04: breakdown of the sensor that determines the amount of water. Here the problem areas are the sensor itself, with its connection to the controller. If everything is in order, but the code does not disappear, replace the sensor.
  • F05: Drain pump problems. Check how the controller and pump are connected. If no damage is found, but the problem has not been resolved, you need to check the pump to see if it has mains voltage. You should also check for blockages in the drain hose. If the damage remains after these steps, replace the pump and pressure switch.
  • F06: an error occurred with the buttons. You need to check whether the device buttons are working properly, check the panel for the presence of contacts with the controller. If any damage is detected, it is repaired and the device control panel is often replaced.
  • F07: lights up when the heating element is not immersed in water. Actions: checking the quality of connections between the sensor that determines the amount of water and the controller; the sensor itself with the controller, as well as the heating element, are tested. To fix the problem, you need to replace the problematic element.
  • F08: the relay is stuck or there is a problem with the sensor that determines the amount of water. It is worth checking the sensor and the relay connections to the controller. If a breakdown is detected, the corresponding part is replaced. If no fault is found, replace the controller.
  • F09: Volatile memory failure. To eliminate the breakdown, change the controller. You can also try to flash the firmware of the microcircuit responsible for the machine's memory.
  • F10: The water quantity check sensor does not send signals. It is necessary to check the connections, wiring, serviceability of the sensor itself and the controller and replace the used part.
  • F11: no data is received from the drain pump. You should check the functionality of the connector connections from the controller to the pump, test the pump, and if necessary, replace it. You should also check the sensor.
  • F12: no communication between display module and controller. In the same way as with previous breakdowns, the connection is checked, and any detected breakdowns are replaced with new parts.
  • F13: malfunction of the drying temperature control circuit. It is worth checking the connections of the controller to the dryer, checking the sensor and replacing the inoperative element.
  • F14: it does not turn on during the drying stage. It is necessary to check whether the heating element responsible for drying and the controller are connected to each other, check the functionality of both elements.
  • F15: “drying” mode is not turned off. Check the connecting board, check and then replace the level sensor and connecting board.
  • F17: indicates that the hatch door is not closed. Check whether there is mains voltage, whether the micro-switch of the lock works, and how securely it latches. The identified damage is repaired by replacing the hatch door lock.
  • F18: incorrect operation of the microprocessor. To eliminate the code, you need to replace the controller.

Knowing about the fault codes of Ariston Hotpoint washing machines, you can find the reason for the stoppage. Ariston washing machines have a complex design, but in many cases it is possible to make repairs yourself, saving time and money.

Not a single housewife can imagine herself without an automatic washing machine. The assortment range allows you to choose a model that is most suitable in terms of dimensions, technical capabilities, and in accordance with your budget. One of the popular brands is Ariston. The model range meets all modern requirements: reliability, ergonomics, efficiency. But this equipment is also prone to breakdown. What are the possible malfunctions of the Ariston washing machine? Let's take a closer look.

Advantages of Ariston washing machines

There are a number of advantages of equipment from this brand:

  • Economical. The consumption of electricity and water is reduced to a minimum.
  • Ergonomics. Ease of use and beautiful design.
  • Wide range of models. Possibility of selecting the optimal equipment in the desired price segment.
  • Availability of service, constant availability of spare parts for all models.
  • The software can be adjusted to suit your needs.

As you can see, Ariston washing machines have all the advantages of modern household appliances.

Equipment design

Any washing machine consists of several parts:

  • electronic control unit;
  • heating element - heating element;
  • electric motor;
  • drain pump - pump;
  • water supply system;
  • bearings and seals;
  • sensors

This is not a complete list, but it gives the gist of the functionality.

These parts are the most common causes of malfunction of the Ariston washing machine. Let's look at them in more detail below.

Major breakdowns

The service life depends directly on how the Ariston washing machine is used. Malfunctions and their elimination bring a lot of discomfort to the owners, but nevertheless, basically all problems come from improper operation. Consumers do not take into account water hardness and make incorrect installation and connections.

According to reviews from repair organizations, the main malfunctions of Ariston washing machines are as follows:

  • Water pump. It is worth noting that this weak point is typical not only for this brand, but also for other manufacturers.
  • Weak mechanical fastenings of doors, drum, top cover.
  • Integrity of hoses. Most often it suffers at the junction with the drum. Directly depends on the hardness of the water.
  • Control module errors.

The Ariston washing machine has these disadvantages. Malfunctions and their elimination do not cause difficulties for the craftsmen, since all spare parts are constantly available. Let's take a closer look at each type of breakdown and how to fix it.

water pump

The Ariston washing machine helps you to track and troubleshoot faults and fix them using the instructions, which contain a table with error explanations. A breakdown of the drain system is indicated by the letter “F” and the numbers 05 (drain pump problems) and 11 (no data from the drain pump).

In such cases, check the connection between the controller and the pump, the pump itself (the presence of voltage in it), the functionality of the sensor, and the absence of blockages in the drain system. If the cause is found, it should be corrected; if not, then they go to replace the pump.

Mechanical fastenings

When the door or lid is loosened, the fasteners are tightened. Increased noise and vibration during operation will help to track the weakening of the drum. It is important to respond in a timely manner to this problem, which was identified by the Ariston washing machine. Malfunctions and their elimination of this type will not take much time and will not cost a penny. But if you miss the situation, you may need a major overhaul, which will cost a hefty sum.

Hose integrity

The appearance of water on the floor indicates such a breakdown of the Ariston washing machine. Faults and their elimination of this type bring a lot of trouble. Repairs begin by finding the location of the leak. To do this, not only the hoses are inspected, but also their attachment points.

There are situations when the pipe becomes clogged and flies away from the water supply point. In such cases, you should also fix the hose back. If the integrity of the rubber tubes is damaged, they are replaced with new ones. Such malfunctions can lead to a complete malfunction of the machine. Water getting on the electronic unit, electric motor, sensors, relays damages them.

Control module errors

How does the Ariston washing machine behave in such situations? Possible malfunctions are indicated by flashing lights.

In this case, the following errors pop up: F06 (button operation failure), F09 (volatile memory failure), F12 (the circuit between the indication and the controller is broken, F18 (microprocessor operation is incorrect). The solutions will be as follows:

  • F06 - check the serviceability of the buttons and their contact. Very often, in the event of such breakdowns, the entire control unit is replaced.
  • F09 - they replace the controller or update the firmware of the microcircuit that is responsible for the memory.
  • F12 - check connections, change spare parts if necessary.
  • F18 - to eliminate the code, change the controller.

The Ariston washing machine does not have any special design difficulties. Do-it-yourself repairs can easily fix faults. What other breakdowns may occur?

Tubular electric heater (TEH)

The following errors are typical for breakdowns of this type:

  • F03 - malfunction of the sensor that monitors the operating temperature of the heating element. The contacts between the controller and the sensor are checked, and the sensor itself is checked for serviceability. Replaced if necessary.
  • F07 - The heating element is not immersed in water when the equipment is operating. The contact between the sensor responsible for the water level and the controller is checked and the serviceability of both is checked. If necessary, the faulty element is replaced.

In case of such errors, the serviceability of the heating element itself is checked using a multimeter.

A number of other malfunctions

Some breakdowns may occur as a result of some initial failure.

For example, when water leaks from the drainage system or its intake, electrical and electronic contacts can flood, which can damage any system.

The occurrence of vibration when the bearings are destroyed can displace the drum axis, which will also entail a major overhaul. Unstable electricity supply is the cause of failure of electronic

Failure Prevention

First of all, you should install the equipment correctly. It must be level. With proper installation, the Ariston washing machine (the malfunctions and their elimination of which we examined) will be less likely to disappoint with breakdowns. At the same time, the service life will increase. How will the Ariston washing machine (vertical loading) behave when installed and connected out of level? The malfunctions that will occur are displacement and deformation of the axis. Such repairs are not covered by warranty, and the owner will have to incur significant costs for them. Installing filter systems for the water supply and using special products will help prevent many malfunctions, including the formation of scale and its harmful effects on the heating element and other systems.

For washing machines, a separate cable must be laid, which must be designed for the power consumption of the equipment, and a separate machine in the panel. A grounding device is required. Do not load laundry heavier than recommended by the instructions. This may result in failure of the drum fastening systems. The consequence is major expensive repairs.

No matter what malfunctions the Ariston washing machine shows, do-it-yourself repairs should begin by studying the instructions, which contain a diagram of the device and a table of operating errors. Another important point: if the equipment is under warranty, it is better to contact a service center. If you are sure that the breakdown occurred as a result of improper operation, then you can carry out the repair yourself. This will significantly reduce time and financial costs. And the constant availability of spare parts will help you quickly find the right part for any model.
