Sets of extensions for Internet Explorer. Plugins and extensions for Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer – formerly the most popular browser and now the second among the most used web browser in the world is included as part of the Microsoft Windows line of operating systems. It is natural that among tens of millions of fans of this browser there are a lot of those, who are annoyed by all these banners and pop-ups and who would like to use the Internet without ads (as the users of Adblock extension for Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Safari do).

Ad blocking in Internet Explorer

Unfortunately, unlike the browsers listed above, Internet Explorer has a rather specific mechanism of work with plug-ins, which is not adapted for writing adblock extensions. In addition, plug-ins for Interner Explorer are difficult to develop. For these reasons, a wave of various plugins, extensions and add-ons designed for ad blocking bypassed Internet Explorer. While in other browser platforms we see a lot of high-quality adblockers (such as Adblock, Adblock Plus / ABP, No Ads and others) that remove ads and block pop-ups – there is only one adblocker at the moment, which though somehow but works and this is the Adblock Plus extension for Internet Explorer.

Unfortunately, this ad blocker has a range of serious disadvantages. As the developers themselves noted on the official website, Adblock plus for Internet explorer has the following problems:

Finding the ABP icon is the whole problem. It is located in the status bar of Internet Explorer, which is hidden by default in latest IE versions. Because of that, it is very difficult to manage the work of extension.

The blocking of ads in the Internet Explorer is sometimes different from Firefox and Chrome. In some cases ABP for IE just can’t remove the advertising.

Metro mode Internet Explorer in Windows 8 and Internet Explorer in Windows RT are locked down environments that do not allow any third-party code to run - including Adblock Plus. That is why you can’t use Adblock Plus for Metro mode (and Modern UI) Internet Explorer 10 and IE 11.

The issues described above (especially the disability to work in the Metro UI) significantly reduce the value of this ad blocker. Adguard Team offers IE users a fundamentally different approach to blocking of advertising that is not accompanied by the listed problems and gives you the opportunity to achieve your goal.

Adguard protection from ads in the IE

We recommend you to download and install Adguard – our program for ads blocking. Unlike Adblock Plus for Internet Explorer, our ad blocker works at the system level and "turn off" the advertising immediately across all browsers.

The work of Adguard is not constrained by the browser limitations. A full-featured program against ads, works equally well in all browsers. After a simple installation, Adguard begins complex filtering of your Internet traffic:

The “AdBlocker” program module blocks all types of ads. Adguard removes indeed all the advertising elements from the web pages: banners, popups, video ads. As well as social widgets (“Retweet”, “Like”-buttons and such).

In addition to filtering, which carries the AdBlocker, our program has additional features that will ensure the safe use of the internet. Antiphishing provides protection against malicious and phishing sites. Adguard blocks access to pages that threaten the security of your computer (which is beyond the scope of Adblock Plus). Parental Control is responsible for content filtering and hides inappropriate for children sites and materials.

With Adguard you can easily remove the ads and pop-ups in Internet Explorer and enjoy the clean and safe internet.

For web developers who want to use Internet Explorer as their main browser, we have compiled 5 plugins or extensions for IE that can help you analyze, diagnose, debug problems and speed up web page development.

Internet Explorer Developer Toolbar, a product developed by Microsoft Corporation, is designed to assist in web development and design. It has very good functionality: convenient work with div elements, tools and measuring rulers, tooltips, source code highlighting and other useful functions. This is an important plugin for analyzing and troubleshooting a web page.

A web tool developed by Vision Australia, specifically for web page evaluation and analysis. Among the functionality we highlight: editing CSS styles, color accessibility test (analysis of text color and background color to determine “visibility”), displaying the page in black and white.

The extension is distributed in two versions: Basic and Professional. Displays a lot of information about HTTP data and web page metrics, such as status codes, time it takes the web page to load, amount of data downloaded, HTTP compression metrics (if used). Some features: gives a visual representation of the web page, notifies you of any HTTP errors.

WebCollect is a simple extension that allows you to take and save screenshots of web pages. In addition, an eyedropper tool is included that allows you to define colors on the page. Among the features, we highlight copying both the entire page and only individual parts.

Web Development Helper

Plugin designed for ASP.NET and JavaScript/Ajax developers. Has a special set of tools to help you write and test applications. For the extension to work correctly, the Microsoft .NET framework must be installed, the latest version of which can be found on the Microsoft website.

So, last time we looked at the most useful and interesting ones. Next in line are Internet Explorer 8 and Opera 10. Unfortunately, today's list of add-ons will not be complete. This is not our fault, since the reviewed browsers still have not acquired a large number of extensions. Nevertheless, they exist and we will tell you about them.

Opera

It would seem that Opera is a browser “ahead of the rest.” But add-ons are not the browser's strong point. Why? The so-called is written for Opera. widgets, which are essentially stand-alone programs, but not add-ons. There are also javascript extensions for Opera, but there are only a few of them. They are distributed not on official websites, but on amateur forums or sites like Operafan.net. The reason for the small number of add-ons is that Norwegian developers initially want to fit maximum functions into their browser in a particularly compact size. Which once again suggests that extensions are not included in the browser’s development plans and developers are not interested in supporting them. How to install widgets? Everything is simple here: in the browser menu, select “Widgets - Get widgets”. To install, just click the Launch button and click OK in the dialog box. How to install javascript extensions? We warn you right away: installing add-ons in Opera is not as easy as in Chrome or Firefox. Most often, adding an extension involves copying a special javascript file to a user folder and activating the scripts. This can be done through the browser settings: “Tools - Settings - Advanced - Content”, by clicking the “Configure JavaScript ...” button and by clicking the Browse button, specify the folder with scripts. In any case, to find out all the nuances, you must read the instructions, usually a file called readme.txt. You may also need to redefine custom CSS styles.

1.FlashBlock

Flash element blocker. In general, flash banners, players, etc. modules can be easily disabled with one option in the Opera settings: “Disable plugins in content”. In addition, for a long time (in browser versions 8-9) it has been possible to disable any content through the context menu. However, there is still a point in using FlashBlock: it is convenient and fast. You can see the locations of flash blocks, which, if desired, can be easily activated with just one click. There are several versions of FlashBlock for different versions of Opera, you can download them from the addresses indicated above.

2. Block External Scripts

A similar extension was considered for Firefox and, nevertheless, this does not diminish the relevance of its use for Opera. Often, page loading speed depends most not on the abundance of images, but on the scripts that the site may link to. Unfortunately, Opera does not currently have a built-in option to disable external scripts. With Block External Scripts, you will not only increase page loading speed, but also slightly improve the security of your browser.

3.Htm2clip

When you copy text with links and images, for example, from Opera to Word, all formatting disappears. In order to correct the omission, you need to install the Htm2clip plugin. As developer Htm2clip notes, in Opera 10 the plugin is no longer relevant: just move the special Edit mode or Copy with formatting button to any panel in Opera. It's easy to find both buttons here: http://my.opera.com/Lex1/blog/index.dml/tag/autocopy.js.

4.Download video from Youtube.com

A custom script that adds the ability to save videos in various formats. Unlike the described plugin for Firefox, download links appear in the header of the Youtube.com website, and not in the sidebar. Thus, there is no need to use other services and programs to download videos. By the way, on this forum page there are scripts for other video services made by enthusiastic users, for which special thanks go to them.

5. Textarea Resizer

Mostly a cosmetic script that allows text input fields (textarea) to stretch, even if this is not originally intended. It may be a small thing, but sometimes a useful opportunity. It has already been implemented in the Chrome browser (as well as on some sites using javascript).

Internet Explorer 8

We talked about additions to IE in a review article, but that was so long ago that it’s worth talking about them again. If you go to the browser settings, or rather, the Tools - Add-ons section, you will find that add-ons are divided into several sections. Toolbars and extensions are add-ons that are installed by third-party applications. Sometimes - without the user’s permission or in a “cunning” way. The second section is the well-known search services, which are currently available in any browser. And finally, accelerators, which will be discussed further. By default, IE contains some accelerators, they are accessible through the context menu. Accelerators, or Accelerators, are designed to speed up frequently repeated/in-demand actions. They issue specific commands using specific web services. The procedure is as follows: you need to select the desired word or fragment of text and select the desired accelerator from the context menu. Personally, we have the impression that accelerators are not particularly used. This is to be expected, given that this browser is not designed for the most demanding users. The popularity rating of accelerators is puzzling: specific representatives are in first place. In general, searching for interesting accelerators will take you a lot of time. How to install extensions? To install, you need to go to the accelerator home page and click the “Add” button. On unofficial sites, the name of the button may be different. You can view the list of available extensions through the command Tools - Add-ons.

1. Gmail

Where can I download? Either there is a shortage of accelerators, or extension developers love the Gmail.com service so much, but we will have to repeat ourselves. Using this accelerator, the selected text can be sent through the mail account to the recipient. Opera: the ability to send text by email is implemented by default. Moreover, you can schedule sending not only through the mail service, but also through an email client like Mozilla Thunderbird.

2. Preview and Launch URL

This accelerator is familiar to LiveJournal users because of its annoying preview window, which, however, can be disabled upon first launch. So, the add-on function is similar. It works in conjunction with the WebSNapr Internet service and when the accelerator starts, it shows a thumbnail of the loaded site in the preview window. For users of a fairly fast Internet connection, the option will seem useless.

3. TinyURL Accelerator

If you're familiar with Twitter, you know there's not much you can do given the limited size of each message. And especially if you need to publish a long link that can take up all 140 characters. However, the problem is relevant not only for Twitter. TinyURL.com is a service that allows you to trim the size of links. With the help of this accelerator, you can quickly create short, beautiful URLs using TinyURL.com.

4. PROMT Online Translator

Quick translation of text from various languages into Russian and other languages. This is possible thanks to the Translate.ru service. The accelerator is convenient for translating various passages of foreign text. PROMT Online Translator works in the same way as other extensions of this kind for other browsers (read the previous part of the review).

5. Post to LiveJournal

Quick publication of selected text in LiveJournal. When you select an accelerator, you'll be taken directly to the standard LiveJournal page to compose your post. The plugin is not for everyone, you need to know that there are more convenient solutions, for example, the Windows Live Writer program (download.live.com/writer), which will allow you to create and publish a post in a separate application.

6. Post to Twitter

The same thing, but for Twitter. Adds to IE the ability to quickly publish selected text on this service. This way you can quickly publish interesting thoughts from others...

7. Convert to FB2

FB2 is a text format for reading from mobile devices. Moreover, it is relevant not only for large works, but also for cheat sheets and small documents. Many will agree that viewing HTML on mobile devices is inconvenient. The Convert to FB2 accelerator is good because it saves the selected text fragment and immediately offers a ready-made FB2 file for download. Thus, interesting passages of text can be saved via the browser with just two clicks.

8. Progg.ru 9. Youtube Search

Search for the highlighted fragment on Youtube.com. The advantage over a simple search is that you don't have to go to the actual Youtube page to view the results. When using the accelerator, they are displayed in a pop-up window.

10. Google Maps

Search for a dedicated address on . Again, all the convenience is that you don’t need to go to the service from Google. One less action means savings. If you often have to search for addresses on a map in this way, the plugin will be useful.

Conclusion

This concludes the review of plugins for four popular browsers. Have you noticed that interesting add-ons are available in huge quantities for Firefox. Chrome, as a “young” browser, is inferior in quantity, but not in quality. However, the number of extensions for it is growing exponentially. There are very few useful accelerators in Internet Explorer. As for Opera, we had to limit ourselves to a list of five amateur additions. This does not mean that “everything is so bad.” After all, don’t forget about widgets. They were not included in the review for the reason that they are more of a “program within a program” than an addition.

Plugins and extensions for Internet Explorer

Browser capabilities are aimed at users who do not require increased service characteristics of programs, but who value their resistance to virus attacks and security in general. Those who want to get the maximum package of services from the product and cannot find them are forced to look for other browsers. The current section consists of many useful plugins and extensions for Internet Explorer that can increase its functionality and make it more useful for users.

Quite often (especially if there is a “slow” Internet connection via a dial-up connection), users have to disable the display of graphics in the browser settings in order to somehow load the required page. When you want to view web graphics, sometimes you need to do the exact opposite. To solve such problems, IE5IB was created - a small utility that allows you to quickly and conveniently switch the image display mode in Internet Explorer.

After installing the program, a switch button appears on the Internet Explorer toolbar, also duplicated by the items Toggle (on/off) pictures and Toggle (on/off) pictures w/o refresh in the Tools menu. Each click of the button allows or prohibits the display of images in the browser, with the option not to refresh the entire page again.

Quite often, several people work at one computer, as, for example, in an Internet cafe. Changing browser settings for each specific user is quite cumbersome, or rather impossible. A small plugin for Internet Explorer - VDBand - can provide some help in this situation. After installing it, a sub-item will appear in the Toolbars item of the View browser menu - VDBand, clicking on which will bring up a new toolbar with four buttons that allow you to:

Enable/disable display of images in the browser;

Enable/disable cookies;

Clear browser cache;

Switch custom proxy servers.

As practice shows, when working on the Internet, these are the parameters that have to be changed most often.

The utility allows you to add up to 20 buttons of any kind to the Internet Explorer toolbar, with which you can perform various actions, launch external programs, open files or web pages, and much more, if necessary, repurposing them to perform other necessary commands.

The program has a convenient and simple interface, selects programs, documents and URLs, sets any parameters for launching commands, the text displayed when moving the mouse pointer to a button, as well as an icon for the button. You can choose between the original program/document icon, a set of icons from the AddaButton collection, or any other icon located on the hard drive.

Each added button can subsequently be edited, including completely deleting the layer and creating a new button in place of the deleted one, completely resetting all buttons, and also (for Windows 2000/XP) the ability to use installed buttons only for the current user or for everyone working in the system.

To operate the program, you must have VBR Runtime and the Internet at least version 5.

The plugin is a small addition to the browser and allows you to view the contents of ZIP files directly in the browser before downloading them.

The program will be very useful if you need to download just one file from the entire archive. Installing the plugin is also easy, you just need to unpack the HttZip.dll library and place it in the system folder c:/Windows/System, then run the Start?Run command, in the Run the program window that opens, enter regsvr32 HttZip.dll and click OK.

Most of the components found on an Internet-connected system are downloaded automatically by the browser (provided that automatic updates are enabled), including very large components.

The Active XCavator plugin will allow you to control all installed components and display full information about them - name, size, location on disk, developer name, etc. If some of the components are unstable or were downloaded by mistake, the program helps to get rid of them. If a required Windows component was removed by mistake, Active XCavator will detect the website from which the removed component was obtained and automatically install it again.

The Instant Source plugin allows you to view and edit HTML code right inside the browser, that is, process the current page of any site in real time. The plugin makes it possible to display HTML code in different ways - when moving the mouse pointer to the text, selecting a block of text or the entire page, and with simultaneous syntax highlighting (Fig. 6.1).

Rice. 6.1. View HTML Code with Instant Source

You can also view external CSS files, script files, search for text/tags on an open page, directly apply changes made, and save the modified page to your hard drive.

The plugin is installed automatically. The unregistered version is fully functional for 21 days.

The MultiGrabber plugin allows Internet surfers to completely save a web page with all existing content. In addition to the standard page components - text and pictures - you can save Flash animation, videos in QuickTime, RealPlayer and Media Player formats, cascading style sheets (CSS) and scripts.

The plugin's capabilities allow you to selectively save the required page content, change the folder for saving it, and automatically close the save window when completed.

The product works for 30 days, after which registration is required.

MetaProducts Download Express

The Download Express plugin for Internet Explorer significantly expands the browser's ability to download files. Among the main features of the plugin are multi-threaded downloading of files, automatic control and regulation of download speed, the ability to pause it and then resume downloading files.

The process of downloading files is displayed on the download map, and the plugin automatically detects the file extension and, if it is not in its database (which has more than 30 extensions), adds it. During the installation process, when using a proxy server, Download Express intercepts all settings for their further use, without excluding, however, manually setting up an HTTP/FTP proxy in the plugin parameters.

If necessary, you can quickly reject file downloads using Download Express and use your browser. On the other hand, it is possible to force any download link through Download Express.

Despite being free, the plugin does not contain any spyware or adware. There are about 10 languages available for the Download Express interface, including Russian and even Ukrainian.

The Flash Saver plugin is a powerful tool for downloading Flash animation, and this program works not only with Internet Explorer, but also with Netscape and Opera, integrating into browsers and allowing you to save Flash animation as regular pictures. Using the program, you can save images both on the current page and through links to images that lead to other pages, as well as from the browser cache.

There are several options for saving animation - by right-clicking on the video in Internet Explorer, by clicking the button integrated into the browser bar or button in the notification area, or by using a hotkey. The unregistered version will only run 30 times. for which, however, you can purposefully save a large amount of Flash animation.

Picture Ace Lite

The developers of a small utility - an extension for Internet Explorer - Picture Ace Lite probably made a special order for lazy surfers who simply cannot bear to manually save images from web pages. After installing this program, opening a page in Internet Explorer and wanting to save the picture it contains, just select the Save Image item in the context menu, and the image will be saved in a folder previously created by the user, the path to which must be specified in the main window of the utility. The program settings contain only the functions of creating a folder for saving and the ability to create separate folders for each site and image format.

Visiting various Internet resources, everyone pursues their own goals: one needs overview information on the site, another needs answers to assigned tasks, the third is simply an active surfer. Using the Internet as one of the means of doing business, many users do not immediately decide to turn to the services available on websites, which forces them to re-visit the necessary resources and look for contact information.

With a large number of sites already visited, it will again take a lot of time to find the necessary information, so the right software solution is needed to constantly analyze the Internet. The IE Contacts Spy plugin for Internet Explorer can easily obtain all the necessary information on the sites you visit, structure and save it.

The plugin works completely unnoticed and is launched exclusively from the context menu of Internet Explorer.

IE Contacts Spy features:

Search for phone and fax numbers;

Search for email addresses and IDs for MSN, AOL, ICQ, Yahoo! services;

Filtering of the information found by time, types of contacts and resource address.

All useful contact information saved on browser pages using the plugin can be exported to the clipboard, text file or any of the Microsoft Office applications. However, this function is available only after free registration; unregistered users are limited to viewing only, without saving on external sources of information.

EMates HTML Code Spy

Today, new solutions in website building appear with enviable consistency and webmasters are always in search of fresh ideas. Interesting design elements are necessarily analyzed, but it is not always easy to find the right piece of code that would arouse interest. Web Spy will be useful to anyone who works with websites as a developer.

You can solve the search problem and optimize the time spent browsing it using a small plugin for Internet Explorer - HTML Code Spy. Its purpose is to study HTML code and display specified parts of the page for the user. Working with it is as simple as possible - select the object of interest on the page, right-click to call up the context menu, in which select Code Spy. A window will open on the screen in which the code of the selected fragment will be displayed, and you will also be able to view the position of the selected code in the general code of the page and the ability to copy it to the clipboard and save it in an external file for further use.

Switch utility! has an English interface and is an ideal solution for freeing the Taskbar from numerous Internet Explorer windows, since it exclusively integrates Internet Explorer window buttons. Main functions of the utility:

Opening a new browser window at startup;

Maximizing windows or arranging them on the screen according to specified positions and sizes;

Automatically minimizes the program icon to the notification area after closing the last active window;

Support for changing interface colors and hotkeys.

Unlike the previous utility, the ToolBar program is a much more multifunctional product, built on the all-in-one principle. ToolBar is designed for use when surfing the Internet, when you need to get any required information. Like the previous utility, this is a narrow toolbar that, however, contains 50 different utilities, including:

Metasearch engine;

10 news channels from around the world;

A utility for quickly launching any programs;

Online translator;

A plugin that expands the capabilities of the clipboard (with the ability to store up to 50 entries);

Anti-spammer, password keeper, web directory with a huge number of links to Internet resources (mostly English-language);

Currency converter.

A set of network tools will be useful for administrators of any company - DNS lookup, Finger, Ping, Port Scanner, Trace, Whois. Each utility, opened in a separate window, has a copy of the main panel for quickly switching between programs. Perhaps the only drawback of the program is its focus to a greater extent on Western users, since the set of web resources and search engines, as well as news channels, is represented exclusively by resources that are widespread in the West (Yahoo!, AltaVista, Google, MSN). Nevertheless, the program has truly broad capabilities when working on the Internet, and English is not a hindrance.

Many designers, when creating their web pages, add (for advertising purposes, of course) the ability to automatically set themselves as the home page. A couple of years ago, many people liked this opportunity, but today it is considered a manifestation of bad taste and must be fought against. Start Page Guard is a program that will prevent web pages from changing the start page of the user's browser on their own. The utility is activated automatically when Windows starts and immediately checks its settings with the browser settings. If there is a discrepancy, the program automatically returns the searched home page and continues monitoring.

No matter how fast the Internet functions, you always want to speed it up. Especially with a slow dial-up connection, when you have to wait for all the pictures to load. Using Proxomitron, it is quite possible to speed up your Internet browsing and reduce incoming traffic. The special filters used in the program (filters for web pages, HTTP headers) (Fig. 6.2) allow you to remove from web pages almost all information that the user considers unnecessary - advertising, graphics, Java scripts and applets, backgrounds, tables, frames, dynamic code, etc.

Rice. 6.2.

Setting up web filters in Proxomitron

The colors, fonts and background of web pages can be changed according to the user's taste. Using the program, you can configure applications to launch together with Proxomitron and limit Internet access.

Internet Cache Explorer is necessary for those who spend a lot of time on the Internet, often save the pages they visit and periodically search these pages for the necessary information. This program is a powerful tool for working with the temporary Internet file cache created by Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator. Its main purpose is to write a cache to the hard drive with the possibility of further viewing without an Internet connection. An exact copy of the folder structure of the recorded site will be recreated on the disk, all links can be converted for local viewing, and advertising banners can be painlessly removed from the pages themselves!

Main features of the program:

Support for Internet Explorer browsers versions 3.x, 4.x, 5.x, Netscape Navigator versions 4.x;

Convenient interface in the style of Windows Explorer;

Background determination of the file type and its contents with caching of the results;

Support for viewing schemes - files displayed on the screen can be filtered by various criteria;

Internal file viewer for JPEG, GIF, PNG, SWF, HTML, MID, WAV, AVI, MP3 formats;

Quick search by host/folder name.

Thanks to customizable browsing patterns, you can examine only those files that were recorded, for example, during your last Internet session. You can also quickly clear the cache of banners. And since Internet Cache Explorer reads the cache directly, you can work with cache files located in any directory, for example, a neighbor on the local network.

IE Security Pilot

If you use the Internet at work and want to hide this fact, you can use the IE Security Pilot program. This low-level system utility helps erase traces of website travel. After installation, the program icon remains permanently in the notification area.

To access the Internet, just click on the program icon, thereby enabling the safe surfing function. The program allows you to set different levels of security when surfing, process only selected data and change the interface language.

When finished, just click on the program icon again and disable safe mode. The utility will destroy all traces of your work on the Internet (cache, cookies, history) without any possibility of recovery.

The unregistered version of the utility does not contain time restrictions, but has functional limitations that are removed when purchasing the program.

The next product works on the exact opposite principle of the previous one - it allows you to monitor sites opened in the browser, which is quite useful for bosses and system administrators. The utility operates in hidden mode and is invisible in the Task Manager, while sequentially recording the addresses of all opened sites in a log file. Provides the ability to notify the user when loading Internet Explorer that his actions are being recorded. The program is easy to use and has an intuitive interface. The unregistered version is operational for 30 days.

Internet Explorer Security

Thanks to the Internet Explorer Security utility, you can limit user actions to personalize browser characteristics. Software settings also apply to Internet Explorer (Favorites, context menus, controls, tool options), web page settings, and security settings. Using the Security Zones section, you can configure and configure security settings for the five predefined zones in Internet Explorer: Internet, Local, Trusted Sites, Restricted Sites, and My Computer. The Web spy module monitors the websites used and keeps statistics of visits.

The program also allows you to finally get rid of intrusive advertising banners that randomly appear on websites. The utility can work in multi-user mode with settings for each user and set an administrator password to save all settings.

The unregistered version has functional limitations that are removed only when purchasing the program.

Cookie Terminator

When visiting sites, cookies remain on the computer containing information about the user’s system: current settings, IP address, etc. Such information, after analyzing it, can subsequently be used by various network attackers, and not at all for good purposes. A small utility called Cookie Terminator, which has a lot of capabilities to prevent access to the user’s computer (and its possible hacking), helps to counter this.

The utility allows you to scan your hard drive and, if there are cookies, display them in the main window (all browsers installed on the system are analyzed). After this, you can delete all or only some files, set automatic deletion after a certain period of time, or, conversely, protect some cookies from deletion in order to preserve the settings set on the visited site.

The unregistered version of the program works for seven days.

Enable/disable display of images in the browser;

Enable/disable cookies;

Clear browser cache;

Switch custom proxy servers.

As practice shows, when working on the Internet, these are the parameters that have to be changed most often.

AddaButton

Active XCavator

Most of the components found on an Internet-connected system are downloaded automatically by the browser (provided that automatic updates are enabled), including very large components.

The Active XCavator plugin will allow you to control all installed components and display full information about them - name, size, location on disk, developer name, etc. If some of the components are unstable or were downloaded by mistake, the program helps to get rid of them. If a required Windows component was removed by mistake, Active XCavator will detect the website from which the removed component was obtained and automatically install it again.

Instant Source

MultiGrabber

Flash Saver

IE Contacts Spy

Search for phone and fax numbers;

Search for email addresses and IDs for MSN, AOL, ICQ, Yahoo! services;

Opening a new browser window at startup;

Maximizing windows or arranging them on the screen according to specified positions and sizes;

Automatically minimizes the program icon to the notification area after closing the last active window;

Support for changing interface colors and hotkeys.

A-ToolBar

Unlike the previous utility, the ToolBar program is a much more multifunctional product, built on the all-in-one principle. ToolBar is designed for use when surfing the Internet, when you need to get any required information. Like the previous utility, this is a narrow toolbar that, however, contains 50 different utilities, including:

Metasearch engine;

10 news channels from around the world;

A utility for quickly launching any programs;

Online translator;

A plugin that expands the capabilities of the clipboard (with the ability to store up to 50 entries);

Anti-spammer, password keeper, web directory with a huge number of links to Internet resources (mostly English-language);

StartPage Guard

Many designers, when creating their web pages, add (for advertising purposes, of course) the ability to automatically set themselves as the home page. A couple of years ago, many people liked this opportunity, but today it is considered a manifestation of bad taste and must be fought against. Start Page Guard is a program that will prevent web pages from changing the start page of the user's browser on their own. The utility is activated automatically when Windows starts and immediately checks its settings with the browser settings. If there is a discrepancy, the program automatically returns the searched home page and continues monitoring.

Proxomitron

No matter how fast the Internet functions, you always want to speed it up. Especially with a slow dial-up connection, when you have to wait for all the pictures to load. Using Proxomitron, it is quite possible to speed up your Internet browsing and reduce incoming traffic. The special filters used in the program (filters for web pages, HTTP headers) (Fig. 6.2) allow you to remove from web pages almost all information that the user considers unnecessary - advertising, graphics, Java scripts and applets, backgrounds, tables, frames, dynamic code, etc.

Internet Cache Explorer

Internet Cache Explorer is necessary for those who spend a lot of time on the Internet, often save the pages they visit and periodically search these pages for the necessary information. This program is a powerful tool for working with the temporary Internet file cache created by Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator. Its main purpose is to write a cache to the hard drive with the possibility of further viewing without an Internet connection. An exact copy of the folder structure of the recorded site will be recreated on the disk, all links can be converted for local viewing, and advertising banners can be painlessly removed from the pages themselves!

Main features of the program:

Support for Internet Explorer browsers versions 3.x, 4.x, 5.x, Netscape Navigator versions 4.x;

Convenient interface in the style of Windows Explorer;

Background determination of the file type and its contents with caching of the results;

Support for viewing schemes - files displayed on the screen can be filtered by various criteria;

Internal file viewer for JPEG, GIF, PNG, SWF, HTML, MID, WAV, AVI, MP3 formats;

Manufacturer OS type Language Size, MB Home page
Two Pilots sw Windows 98/Me/2000/XP rus. 0,74 http://www.colorpilot.com/pad/iesp.zip
