How to find out what Wi-Fi you have. How to find out your Wi-Fi password using WirelessKeyView. How to recover a forgotten password using an Android device

Many people have found themselves in a situation where they need Wi-Fi and their smartphone or laptop catches many networks with a good signal, but each network has a password. Of course, we can say that connecting to someone else’s network against the will of the owner is ugly. But what if connecting to the Internet is a matter of life and death? For such cases, there are several working options for bypassing the protection:

  • brute force;
  • changing mac address;
  • hacking programs;
  • android applications;
  • traffic interception.

Brute force is a banal selection of all possible combinations of characters that can make up a password. This is perhaps the simplest method that you can think of, since it does not require special knowledge or complex software. But, on the other hand, the complexity of the method lies in the fact that it is quite tedious and the process can take a very long time if the owner has set a fairly complex password.

Automatic selection of combinations

It is not necessary to carry out this operation manually. There are quite a lot of programs that automatically select combinations sequentially. It's much faster and easier for the user. But it is worth keeping in mind that finding a suitable combination can take quite a long time, even if you use special software. A simple password like qwertyui can be cracked in less than a minute, but decrypting /#7&//.’ will take a very long time.

WiFi Crack

One of the programs for automatically guessing passwords is WiFi Crack. It is very easy to use.

  1. Download the program from any site that distributes similar software.
  2. We launch the file and see a simple interface in front of us.

  3. At the top in the “Refresh” line, select the network that needs to be hacked and activate the program by clicking the “Scan for Access points” button.

  4. We wait for the network scanning process to complete, click on the active button, in our case “Wi-Fi WPA”, with a list of found networks.

  5. In the “Select Target Access Point” section, click on the desired network.

  6. At the bottom of the window, click on the “Browse” button to select a file with a dictionary of possible passwords.

    The note! Most likely, the program will require you to connect a dictionary, which it will use to select passwords. Typically, dictionaries are included with the program.

  7. Having configured the parameters, press the “Wi-Fi Attack” button and wait for the process to complete.

  8. The end result of the program will be an inscription with a password under the line “Finished” at the very bottom of the window.

  9. We return to the program interface and click on the “Key Database” button.

  10. In the open window you will see connection information, including the Wi-Fi password.

The note! On average, the program takes 30-90 minutes to crack a password. Since users rarely set truly complex passwords, most can be cracked in half an hour. But there are also passwords that can take years to crack. So not every network can be hacked.

Changing Mac address

Passwords are not always used as protection for Wi-Fi. Quite often, users use a filter based on mac addresses. From the device, this network will be detected as open and does not require a password. But connecting to it will not work, since our mac address does not pass filtering. So, the only way out is to change the mac address of the device to a suitable one. But how to do that?

If you have completed these three steps, connecting to your network without a password becomes impossible. More precisely, you can connect, but it will take so much time and energy that any hacker will very quickly understand that the game is not worth the candle.

There are many ways to hack someone else's Wi-Fi. But all of them are aimed at users who have not taken care of connection security.

How to find out the wifi password | Moicom.ru

The article will discuss options for changing the password on different routers using ByFly Wi-Fi. Today, a Wi-Fi router is a necessary device in every home, because with it you can easily and simply create a network for all home devices. Any device - phone, computer, laptop, tablet - anything that has a Wi-Fi receiver can be connected to your home network, and then to the ByFly Wi-Fi global Internet network. Each router has its own network range. This radius is often excessively large and is taken advantage of by unscrupulous neighbors or simply those who want to get “free” Internet access. These unwanted “guests” are a load on the Wi-Fi router and the Internet speed declared by ByFly by the provider can be greatly reduced. Not to mention the limited Internet traffic. To avoid such stress, you need to set a password on your Wi-Fi router.

Window - Router Settings

Let's figure out how to do this step by step:

How to change the password on the Huawei HG8245A|HG8245H router

Now let's look at an example of changing or setting a new password on a specific model, namely Huawei HG8245A in Wi-Fi ByFly.

Changing the password on the Promsvyaz MT-PON-AT-4 model

To do this, open your browser and enter 192.168.100.1 in the address bar.

How to find out the router password if you have forgotten it?

Sometimes it happens that you need to remember your password and dictate it, for example, to guests who came to visit you. But how to do this if you forgot it? To do this, you will need a computer that is still connected to the Wi-Fi network.

  1. At the bottom, in the tray, you need to right-click (RMB) on the ByFly Wi-Fi connection icon. You can usually find it near the clock. Among the items present, select “Network and Sharing Center...”.
  2. Next, select “Manage wireless networks” from the existing ones.
  3. When the next window opens on the desired connection, right-click again and select “Properties” in the context menu.
  4. In the “Security” item on the “Network Security Key” link you will see a hidden password. To open it, check the “Display entered characters” checkbox and you will be able to see it.

What to do if there is not a single device connected to your home Wi-Fi network at the moment? In this case, you need to find out the password using the router itself.

  1. Connect your computer to the router using the cord that came with it.
  2. Now you need to enter the router settings panel by typing 192.168.1.1 in the browser address bar.
  3. Now fill in the blank lines with your username and password, which will probably be admin.
  4. Now go to “Wireless” and “Wireless Security”. On the line that says PSK Password, you should see a valid password. Rarely, it can be indicated in any other line, but in the same section.

Forgot the password for your Wi-Fi network and don’t know how to regain access to it or connect a new device? In fact, finding out the WiFi password is not a difficult task. You can restore the network in several ways: through a computer and. This article tells you where to look up your Wi-Fi password in Windows 7 and XP, as well as in the router settings.

A fairly common occurrence is that passwords are created and then lost or forgotten. Well, have you successfully protected Wi-Fi from yourself?

Forget for a moment about searching for that piece of paper with the WiFi password. There was no such piece of paper - that’s also normal. But in the future, write down important data in a notepad and don’t lose sight of it. Do not store passwords on your computer, as hackers can get to them.

You can often hear advice from experts: if you forgot your wifi password, reset your router settings and everything will be fine. But what about those who cannot set up a modem from scratch or spend a lot of time on it? Isn't it easier to see your password in the modem or wireless network settings? Enough reasoning, let's move on to action.

We will look at the password on a computer already connected to WiFi. If your wireless network consists of more than one machine: a PC or laptop, then recovering the network security key from one of the already connected devices will not be difficult. If Wi-Fi passwords have been removed from all equipment, go to the router settings item.

If the computer is connected to the router via a cable and not via a wireless network, see the password in the router settings - item 5.

Where to find the WiFi password in Windows XP

To view the security key for your password-protected WiFi access point in Windows XP, go to “Start” - “Control Panel”. In the window that opens, find and launch the “Wireless Network Wizard”.

In the Wireless Network Setup Wizard window, click “Next”, then select the “add new computers and devices” action.

In the next step, select the second method of creating a wireless network - manual installation.

After a moment, the required data will be displayed.

Pay attention to the section: Wireless LAN Adapter, namely the Default Gateway. Here it is 192.168.1.1, but it could be different - this address must be entered in the browser to access the router settings.

As an example, let's look at where to look up the password for a WiFi network in routers: D-Link DIR-300, D-Link DSL-2650U + ROUTER and TP-Link TL-WR841N.

D-Link DIR-300

After entering your login and password, go to the “Wireless Setup” - “Setup” tab, then click the “Manual Wireless Connection Setup” button.

In the window that opens, find the WPA2 ONLY section - the Network Key column - the Wi-Fi network password is displayed here.

D-Link DSL-2650U + ROUTER

Here you need to go to the “Wireless” menu section and select the “Security” subsection. By clicking the “Click here to display” link you can see your Wi-Fi password.

TP-Link TL-WR841N

After entering the settings of the TP-Link router, go to the “Wireless” - “Wireless Security” menu, as in the figure below.

In the WPA/WPA2 - Personal (Recommended) section, find the line PSK Password - it will contain the password for the Wi-Fi network.

As you can see, even though the router settings have visually different menus, you can find the Wi-Fi password everywhere. Look carefully at the section captions and you will definitely see the information you need.

I forgot my router password - what should I do?

Now let's look at a situation where it is impossible to find out a forgotten WiFi password using the methods discussed above, and there are no records about it on the computer. In addition, the login and password for entering the router settings have been changed and safely forgotten - what to do in this case?

Remember, at the beginning of the article we mentioned the advice of unknown experts - reset the router settings. In the current situation, it is absolutely impossible; by the way, it should be used only in extreme cases when it is impossible to find out the WiFi password. After resetting to factory settings, you will have to reconfigure the router: Internet and network.

To reset the settings to the original ones, find the Reset button on the back of the device - press and hold it for about 10 seconds (the exact time is indicated in the instructions). After this, the login and password for entering the settings will again become admin, or what they were originally, after purchasing the router.

Let's summarize: you can find out the forgotten password for your Wi-Fi network in various ways. You should resort to resetting the router settings in extreme cases, when otherwise it will not be possible to restore the network.

If you forget your Wi-Fi network password, you should not panic or immediately call the technical support service of your Internet operator, since you can find out the forgotten password yourself. Which will not require you to have any specific technical knowledge or install additional software. All you need to do is follow the steps below.

The “Wireless network management” column is missing

In Windows 7 SP1, the “Wireless Network Management” column is usually absent. Therefore, the instructions for recovering a Wi-Fi network password will be slightly different in terms of the points for opening the “Wireless network properties...” window.

The window of interest can be opened in two ways:

The familiar “Network Security Properties...” window will open, where we open the “Security” tab again and check the box next to “Display network security key.” We save the password.

Find out a forgotten Wi-Fi password by opening the router settings

If your manufacturer is different, then look in the settings for the “Wireless” tab and the “Security” tab. In which, among other things, there is a line “Password” - this is the forgotten password.

Other options to get a password for a Wi-Fi network

In addition to the above options, you can:

  • Reset (zero) the router settings (if you can configure them again), as a result of which you will be able to specify a new access password;
  • Your Internet operator's support service can help you recover your forgotten password. However, you will need to confirm the right to manage the Wi-Fi network by providing some data: the amount of the last few payments, the contract number, contact details of the person who concluded the contract, etc. (individually for each operator);
  • You can also find out your forgotten password using a tablet or smartphone with an enabled Wi-Fi connection. The actions are similar to viewing the password in the router settings - open the router settings (using a mobile device) and look at the specified network key. This is the password.
