192.168 1.1 login to your personal wifi account. Routers and switches

Have you purchased a Wi-Fi router and don’t know how to connect it? To do this, you will need only 15 minutes, with strict implementation of the visual aid.

A router is a network device running on its own OS. This means that a driver is not included or installed to configure it. To fully set up the router connection, you need to use a special Web resource and the specified login data to your personal account. You can find this information on the bottom cover of the device.

Basically, in the “Default Router Settings” column, the standard settings are indicated:

  • IP: 192.168.0.1
  • Username: admin
  • Password: admin
On some devices, instead of IP, the address of the setup site may be indicated, for example: tplinkwifi.net, wifi.com, etc., but the login and password are not specified at all. In the latter case, when you go to the setup site, you will need to immediately create a new entry. In any case, regardless of the specified resource, to set up the operation of any router you can use - IP: 192.168.0.1 or IP: 192.168.1.1

Access to your personal account

First, you need to connect the router to your personal computer and enter the IP address of the settings page in the address bar of your Internet browser. After loading the site, a form window will appear for entering your login and password. We log into your personal account 192.168.0.1 by specifying the standard data from the label on the router.

It is important to know!
If this router has previously been used to connect to another provider, it is possible that the password has been changed to admin1.

The settings menu will open on the monitor.

TP-Link Settings Menu

The “Menu” may be displayed differently, since each router manufacturer has it individually.

It’s not uncommon to see the question on forums: “I can’t enter the menu for managing the router settings, what should I do?” If you have the same dilemma, analyze what is wrong with the following tips.

How to restore access to server 192.168.0.1

If you set the required IP address on the command line, and the response is silence, there are several reasons for this. It is these that we will now analyze and therefore eliminate.

LAN connection
One of the first reasons for failure to enter the router configuration page may be due to the lack of connection of the network cable, which is easily determined on the panel.

To fix the problem, just disconnect/connect the power cord or restart the router/computer. Then the panel will look like this:

Automatically obtain IP address and DNS
We followed the recommendations from point 1, but the login remained unavailable, you should check the IP address data. To make changes or automatically receive settings, you must do the following:

Click on the icon displaying the Internet connection, and then enter the “Network Management” menu. In the new window, click on “Change settings”.

Move the cursor over the active connection, call the “Properties” menu, right-click.

Select the “IP version 4 (TCP/IPv4)” column, it may also be called “Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4)” and click properties
In the window that opens, check: “Obtain IP automatically” and “Obtain DNS server address automatically”, confirm your choice by clicking “Ok”

After completing this simple manipulation, you should reboot the router (the button on the back panel, near the LAN input) and the computer.

If, after turning on your computer, you enter your login information into your personal account 192.168.0.1 and still cannot access the server, then try setting the parameters manually. In the same panel, check the “Use the following IP address” and “Use the following DNS server addresses” checkboxes, then set the parameters. To clarify your parameters, you can call the provider’s Call Center.

Blocking access by Antivirus
Often, access to the configuration server is blocked by an antivirus program; the most common blocker is Kaspersky Free.

To eliminate this dilemma, it is enough to temporarily disable the antivirus activity, and after setting up the router, you can activate it again.

It is important to know!
If it is not possible to temporarily disable the activity of the security software, you will need to completely remove the antivirus from the computer.

Clearing browser cache
Often the problem due to which there is no access to the configuration server is a clogged cache. To eliminate it, just clean your Internet browser or reset it by simultaneously pressing Ctrl + F5.

Ways to quickly clear cached browser files:

After completing the process of clearing cached and cookies, restart your Internet browser.

After doing these manipulations, did you not restore access to the 192.168.0.1 server to configure the router? There is another proven action - resetting the settings!

Reset

This is perhaps the most radical way to solve problems that arise in the operation of the router. This method is also used to reset the set password and login, for example, if you forgot or the router is not yours.

The “Reset” button, for resetting settings to factory settings, is often recessed in the rear panel of the device, near the LAN input. To deactivate the settings, press and hold it for 10-15 seconds and release, then start setting again.

Help me please. I warn you: there will be a lot of text.

Prologue. About 5 years ago I bought a tp-link td8968. The last year has been terribly buggy and I started looking for a replacement. As a result, I bought tp-link tl-wr841n. I don’t know how, but I missed that the new router does not have an adsl port. I had to leave the old router and connect the new one to it via the wan port. I turned off Wifi on the old router. I downloaded the tether application to my phone and set everything up. Everything was great, because I didn’t have to run around and reboot the router every 10 minutes.

Chapter 1. At some point, 3 very unpleasant problems arose, which I will describe below. This moment (but this is not certain) I suspect was the installation of the VPN extension for Chrome “hoxx vpn”. The actual problems (I must say that I am not describing everything in chronological order, but in the order of relation to the problem and “how it is now”, because I don’t remember exactly what I turned on and off when):

1. Download speed in torrent clients, steam, origin, etc. fell 2 times. Although any wifi network around me rarely turns on (I live in a private house), switching channels (which are 1-13) solved the problem. Well, it’s decided. I tested which channel was better, but problem number 3 prevented me from finishing.
2. Without VPN enabled, more than one site could not open. Removing the extension did not help. I solved it by disabling the “Use a proxy server for local connections (does not apply to dial-up or VPN connections)” checkbox in Chrome Settings>Advanced>Proxy Settings>Network Settings.
3. I tried to solve the problems described above through the router settings. In general, the tether application crashed for me and reinstalling it did not help. I downloaded tether on another device, but, as it turned out, it is not possible to configure channels on it. Everything is configured from the phone in the browser, but sometimes the error “the site does not allow you to establish a connection” appears. Moreover, it is not clear how and why it comes out, and it is not clear how it disappears.

I didn't notice any pattern. This is distributed to tplinkwifi.net and 192.168.0.1, when trying to log in through 192.168.1.1, it goes into the settings of the old router. When VPN is enabled on the phone, the same error appears as if I tried to go into the router settings via tplinkwifi.net or 192.168.0.1
, without being connected to the network, i.e. : “Oops! It looks like you aren’t connected to your TP-Link network. Please check your network connection and try again." When I try to log in from another phone I get the same error. And on the laptop it’s a whole song, I’ll describe it in the next chapter.

Chapter 3. How I can’t log into my laptop and what I did to fix it.
I don’t know how it was before all the problems, but now when I try to log in via tplinkwifi.net or 192.168.0.1, it stupidly says “the site does not allow you to establish a connection.” Through 192.168.1.1 I go into the settings of the old router, everything is without problems. Now what advice I found on the Internet and how it didn’t help me:
1. Rebooted the router. Did not help
2. Rebooted the computer. Did not help.
3. Logged in via Yandex browser and via ie. Did not help
4. Removed and re-added Windows Chrome to the firewall exceptions. Did not help. Because of this, I did not do this with other browsers.
5. Reset the router to factory settings. Repeatedly. Did not help. And on all devices.
6. Went to the Network and Sharing Center>Change adapter settings>Wireless network>Properties>Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4)>Properties and checked the “Obtain an IP address automatically” and “Obtain a DNS server address automatically” checkboxes. Did not help. I tried the same thing, but with rebooting the laptop. Did not help.
7. I tried to do step 6 via ethernet. Did not help
8. I pulled out the new router from the wan port of the old one and tried to go into the router settings. Did not help.
9. Disabled the antivirus and Windows firewall. Did not help.
Please tell me what needs to be done.

Frequently asked user question: Why can’t I go into the Wi-Fi router settings at 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1? Indeed, quite often the user cannot enter the router settings because an error is displayed:

Http://192.168.1.1 Web page unavailable

Address to enter settings

Actually, the address of your router's web interface does not necessarily have to be or . These are just the most common variations of the IP address, and only if no one has changed it. In this article we will talk about various reasons for the problem of logging into settings and ways to solve it.

What is a router?

First, let's figure out what a router is. If anyone still doesn’t know, a router (also known as a router) is a device that is used to connect several devices to the Internet at the same time.

If you connect your provider's cable directly to your computer (without a router), then the Internet will only work on this PC and you will have to configure it to connect all other devices to the network. And if you have a router in the room, then the provider’s cable is connected to its WAN port, and all other client devices are already connected to the router - some using Ethernet cables, others via Wi-Fi. To put it simply, a router is a kind of “Internet connection splitter,” just like an extension filter in the case of electricity.

To enter the router settings, use any browser - Chrome, Opera, Firefox. In order to enter the settings, you need to enter a special IP address into the address bar of your browser. Most often these addresses are 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.0.1, but there may be others.
Unfortunately, people often have problems logging into their router settings at these addresses. And if you can't get into the web settings panel, you won't be able to access the web. There are many reasons for the problem. And in this article we have collected all the reasons and their solutions known to us.

  • Today we will answer the following questions:
  • How to configure the network card to log into the web interface at 192.168.1.1 (192.168.0.1)?
  • Why can’t I access the settings of my router, modem or access point?
  • In what cases, when trying to open the settings page of the 192.168.1.1 router, does the “page unavailable” error appear?

Why, when I try to enter the settings of my router (modem, access point), does it redirect me to Google or Yandex search?

What is the default IP address of the router settings?

  • The factory address of the router settings can be found:

in the instructions

  • The instructions always come with the device either in paper form or as a PDF document on disk, and very often both. In addition, setup instructions can always be downloaded from the official website of the router (access point, modem) manufacturer.

on the sticker

Typically, it is located on the bottom of the case or on the back of it. Here is an example from the D-Link DIR-300 router:

And this is what the TP-Link TL-WR841ND sticker looks like:

What IP should I register on my computer to access http://192.168.1.1

And to enter the settings interface, you need the IP address of the network adapter to be in the same subnet as the router address. Most routers have a DHCP server enabled by default. This means that in the settings of your computer’s network adapter you just need to specify receiving IP automatically.

To do this, right-click on the network icon near the clock and select Network and Sharing Center:

  • Click on the link with the name of your network connection.
  • Select Properties.
  • Highlight Internet Protocol Version 4.
  • Click the button Properties.
  • Set both switches to Automatically.
  • Click OK:

But when setting up access points, repeaters (repeaters) or other network equipment, you need to assign an IP address to your computer manually, which in system administrator jargon is called “setting the IP address in the first place.” Go to settings and manually assign an address to the network card. For example, if the default IP of the router is 192.168.1.1, assign the network adapter any address from the 192.168.1 range. 2-254 with subnet mask 255.255.255.0 :

Accordingly, in order to access http://192.168.0.1, you need to enter (for example) 192.168.0.24

Login to router settings

Why doesn’t the address 192.168.1.1 (192.168.0.1) open and an error appears?

So, first we will analyze the situation when, instead of the router settings page, an error like Web-page is unavailable:

1. You are entering an incorrect IP address.

Your router has a different default address (for example, 192.168.0.1 rather than 192.168.1.1) or the address has been changed to something else in the settings (for example, 192.168.0.254).

Solution

Find out the current IP of your router. This can be done both with and on iOS or Android:

Enter the correct settings address in the address bar in the format http://192.168.1.1

2. The router’s IP address is in a different subnet

This often happens after changing the IP router or if the computer address is configured manually.

Solutions

Option 1. If you know the router's IP, assign an address from the same range to your computer's network card.

Option 2: If you don't know, follow these steps:

  • Make sure your computer is connected to the router's LAN port.
  • Set to receive network settings automatically.

  • View network connection information. The gateway address will be the router address.

  • Enter the correct IP into the browser line.

3. The browser has a proxy server enabled

This also includes the enabled Turbo mode in Opera or Yandex Browser, as well as various applications and extensions that change IP - for example, . In addition, the browser may be infected with malware. Under all these circumstances, attempts to log into the control panel at addresses 192.168.1.1, 192.168.0.1 or any others may result in an error.

Solutions to the problem

  • Disable Turbo
  • Disable the proxy server. You can also try checking the box Don't use proxies for local addresses or add the router address to the exceptions.
  • Scan your computer for viruses using and.

4. Network interface is disabled

  • Enable the network interface.

To do this, log in Control Panel - Network and Internet - Network Connections - Changing adapter settings, right-click on the desired interface and select Turn on:

  • Switch the patch cord to another network card if you have several of them.
  • Install the latest drivers for your network adapter.

5. The power to the router is turned off or there is a problem with the network cable

Check the power supply and integrity of the patch cord. Try replacing the cable:

6. A non-standard port is used to enter the router settings

In the settings of many routers (for example, the popular manufacturer TP-Link), you can specify not only the address, but also the port through which the web configuration interface will be available. If the port specified is not standard (that is, not 80), then to enter the settings you will need to specify its number separated by a colon after the address. For example:

Therefore, in this case you have three options:

  • find out the port number from the person who configured the router;
  • try to enter the settings using the host name, for example tplinkwifi.net(naturally, if you have a TP-Link router). You will be redirected to the correct IP address and port (usually 192.168.0.1);

7. Router malfunction or failure

Perform a factory reset

Signs that the router is faulty:

  • no internet or network;
  • no indicator lights up;
  • I can't enter settings.

Can't access 192.168.1.1 (192.168.0.1) from iPhone and Android

A very common mistake when trying to access the router settings from a phone: when entering a username on iPhone and Android, the first letter is entered as a capital letter. This leads to the error " The username or password you entered is incorrect“, and you can’t understand what’s the matter. To enter your login correctly:

Why does it redirect me to Google or Yandex when I try to access the settings web interface?

1. You enter 192.168.1.1 without http://

Some browsers, instead of going to http://, will redirect you to a search by numbers:

Type the URL in the address bar, starting with 'http':

http://192.168.1.1

2. Commas instead of periods

If you type in the Russian keyboard, then commas may appear instead of periods:

192,168,1,1

In this case, you will also be redirected to the search engine.

Enter the correct URL in your browser starting with http:// and click Enter:

3. Letters instead of numbers in the IP address

Sometimes, for some unknown reason (most likely, of course, out of ignorance), people enter the letters “i” instead of ones. As a result, instead of an IP address you get the awkward 192.168.I.I or 192.168.l.l and after that you end up in the search instead of the router settings page.

The most common addresses, logins and passwords

For novice users: if you don’t have a sticker on your router, don’t have instructions, the Internet doesn’t work, etc., here are the most common default details.

To configure a router or modem, you need to go to its settings. It's not difficult, you can follow the instructions:, or. Even in the process of entering the settings, you may encounter many problems. One of these popular problems is when the admin password or admin username does not match when trying to enter the settings at 192.168.1.1, or 192.168.0.1.

In the articles to which I gave links above, I wrote that the settings of each router or modem can be accessed at the IP address 192.168.1.1, or 192.168.0.1. You can see the address at the bottom of your router. There should be a sticker on which it is indicated.

To access the router's web interface, you need to specify a username and password. Typically, the default password is admin and the username is admin. But not for all manufacturers. And when we specify the admin password on the login page (or other data for your manufacturer) and the same username, then we may not get into the settings. The page will simply reload and that's it. Or, we will see a message that the password is incorrect. Well, we won’t get access to the router settings. If you have any other problem logging into the router settings page, then see this article.

The admin password does not work when logging into the router settings

You specify admin and admin, but it doesn’t go into the settings. Error "invalid password" or "invalid username". Now let's try to fix everything.

Basically there are three reasons:

  • You, or the technician who set up your router, changed the password from admin to something else. Maybe he changed his username too. So they don't fit.
  • There is some kind of malfunction in the router.
  • You are specifying the wrong password/login, which is used by default.

Solutions:

  • First of all, we clarify what data needs to be specified specifically on your router. To do this, we look for information on the device itself. Or, see information on manufacturers in this article.
  • Try accessing settings from a different browser. In the comments they shared information that, for example, through Chrome the admin password did not work, but in the Internet Explorer browser everything worked and the settings opened.
  • Next, try to remember, maybe you wrote down the password somewhere. Perhaps you still remember him :)
  • Well, the most reliable solution is to reset the router settings. The idea is that after this procedure, the settings will be accessible using a standard password and login.

Resetting the settings to factory settings is not difficult. Find the button on the case of your router RESET. It may be recessed into the body, in which case it needs to be pressed with something sharp.

Also, RESET can be on the same button with WPS.

Need to press the RESET button and hold for 10 seconds, perhaps longer. The router should reboot. After that, try going to the control panel. If something doesn’t work out, then on our website we have instructions on how to reset settings for all popular routers.

Standard username and password for different routers

Let's find out which password and login is used by default on your router. As I wrote above, this information can be found on the device itself.

On routers Tp-Link: address - 192.168.1.1 (maybe 192.168.0.1). Login and password - admin and admin.

On D-Link: address - 192.168.0.1. Username and password admin and admin. Or, we simply do not fill in the password field.

Devices Zyxel: address 192.168.1.1 (or my.keenetic.net) . Login - admin. And the password is 1234. This information is not indicated on ZyXEL Keenetic Start. And by default, the settings are not protected. The router itself will prompt you to set a password.

Routers Linksys: address - 192.168.1.1. Username and password - admin. For some reason they don't list this information on the device itself. Probably because they want Linksys routers to be configured using a special program that comes included on the disk.

Asus: address - 192.168.1.1. User Name - admin, Password - also admin.

On Tenda: address - 192.168.0.1. Login - admin. Password - leave the field blank.

If you do everything according to the instructions, the settings page should open.

The universal and easiest way to log into the router is to use the web interface. If you are not sure which address you should use to log in, 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1, use the following instructions:

Usually the address http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 is opened with the standard password and login admin admin. But the login and password for logging into the Personal Account of your modem or router may differ in your specific case. The exact data can be found in the instructions or on the sticker at the bottom of the router case.

You can also log into the router through any web browser using the factory settings and default IP addresses 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1.

To do this you need:

  1. Open browser
  2. Enter http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 in the search address bar
  3. Enter login and password admin admin

Alternative ways to enter the settings of a Wi-Fi router or modem

In addition to addresses, manufacturers also use their own proprietary configuration methods. Here are some of them.

Setting dial

Many routers and modems usually come with a disk with proprietary software for simplified setup. This disk greatly simplifies the setup and installation of initial Internet connection parameters. All you need to do is launch the disc and follow the instructions on the screen.

Special sites for customization

Manufacturers offer their unique settings addresses in the form of familiar sites to simplify the user experience. For example, the following are offered as an alternative router settings address:

  • TP-Link tplinklogin.net and tplinkwifi.net
  • For Netgear routers, the web address is routerlogin.net
  • Huawei is configured via ip 192.168.8.1
  • Zyxel - http://my.keenetic.net
  • Xiaomi - http://miwifi.com
  • Tenda - http://tendawifi.net
